Heh, I was talking about the future PS3 sales. About X-box 360 well... I hardly hear anyone talk about it.

Elmo: Heh, just wanted to clarify that so we didn't get tons of screaming fanboys here. That tilt-detect thing is rather cheap too I assume, as it's included in WarioWario:Twisted and Yoshi tilt 'n tumble. Would be funny if the PS3 controller had the same legal troubles as WarioWare:Twisted in Europa. xD (Neverthless that was something stupid that delayed a relase, something about safety issues. :/)

"The motion-sensing demo was hilarious. The guy's ship was shaking like crazy, and it was comical seeing him try to keep both hands on the controller while twisting it around. There's a good reason the Wii controller looks like a remote."
(to Sony's defence, it's just a tech demo but.. still intresting to hear about.)

Maybe I go watch the various press-conferances, though Sony is wellknown for having boring ones so dunno.

Elmo... about Blu Ray. To be honest, if the format ever goes off it WILL take a few years before people switch to it. Besides, the switch from DVD>Blue-ray wouldn't be as drastic as VHS>DVD or VCD>DVD. It's not even 100% sure what standard that will be the replacment for DVD, and hell.. we still have CD's around (thought PC games are starting to get released on DVD's as a norm... but then Audio DVD's aren't very common.)

I look forward to the Nintendo press announcement.

That sums up the mood here then?

Ah what else to expect from a Nintendo centric mb?

Hmm I'm now less hysterical, but I still want a Ps3.... really. Nothing announced in the Wii conference will make me want one.

I've actually seen the "DAMN SONY" stuff in a LOT of places, and not just places full of Nintendo fanboys. I've probably seen between 5-10 negative/neutral reactions for every positive one.

I mean, look at the controller again. Granted, it's possible that Sony had the motion stuff planned since day 1, even before people knew about the Wii controller. But even if they did, they're coming across as copycats regardless. Then they save the price for the end of the conference and get a very negative reaction from the audience in attendance, and don't even mention that the difference in prices isn't just because of the HD. They made a lot of blunders today, which probably won't hurt them at all in the long run but I can't see them winning the Christmas wars this year with only two million units (less than that in North America of course) to go around. It's a shame because some of the stuff (like FFXIII) looks really good.

I can sum up Nintendo and MS tomorrow:

Nintendo wins if: They show off an incredibly strong game lineup and the Wii controller works as promised. They basically need to come out aggressive.
Nintendo loses if: The games look bad, the Wii controller looks like a gimmick, some of the bigger games (Mario, SSB, Metroid, etc.) are delayed/not shown. A huge price point (anything ABOVE $249, which is the absolute most it should sell for) doesn't help either.

Microsoft wins if: They stay the course. Show some solid games, cross fingers that Gears of War is the E3 Game of the Show and showcase the system's strengths.
Microsoft loses if: They get too fancy, they tease Halo 3 and don't deliver, or they spend half of the conference talking about Windows Vista.

Yea, Sony showed some really cool trailers for some awesome games. (Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Virtua Tennis, Mobile Suit Gundam, Metal Gear Solid 4, FFXIII)But I'm really getting anxious for the PC and Wii games considering they're coming sooner(PC) and are more affordable(Wii). I'm especially curious to see how the following do:
Alan Wake
Battlefield: 2142
Bioshock
Crysis
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Hellgate: London
Huxley
The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar
Medieval II: Total War
Neverwinter Nights 2
Phantasy Star Universe
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
Unreal Tournament 2007
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos
Warhammer Online
The Witcher

FF3j? In America? 'Bout time.

Edit: So the general consensus is that Sony's press conference was... lacking, to put it gently. Here are a couple things mocking it already:

Just finished watching the Nintendo conference, and while there was no SSB, Zelda and Red Steel look amazing (DOWNTHRUST FTW), the nunchuck has a motion sensor as well(!) and a new Mario.

Nice.

Not bad, the Wii looks like a lot of fun, no announcements regarding launch date and price though - You'd have thought they'd have stolen Sony's thunder with that.

So far PS3's my fave bet, but Wii's tempting.

Adamant - The killing blow from Ninty would be a definate release date and a price anouncement - but they held off, perhaps they showed mercy.

Inspired by a post on GameFAQs, I'm taking bets on whether the PS3 turns out to be pieces of a 360 and a wii duct taped together.

Six hundred dollars for a PS3? No thanks. I can buy two 360's with that money. Or three Wiis. Or a new PC.

I'm-a going for the Wii myself. Looks more fun to play.

And I hope Sony gets into legal trouble for copying Nintendo's ideas and downsizing them for their own evil purposes.

Super Paper Mario looks tight. I can't believe they are fusing 2D and 3D elements as well as RPG elements. It's also about time they brought back Peach and Bowser as playable characters. I used them a lot in SMRPG.

It might just be me, but Starfox DS looks more than a little like Starfox 2...
Maybe we actually will get to see what Starfox 2 was meant to be?
