SNESX9 works with this hack, till we get a working ZSNES version

Pretty damn sweet hack so far, barely made it to Brinstar

ZSNES 1.36 works with it.

I feel like a complete tool by asking this... But, where are the bombs?

Drewseph... the acid was bad enough, then the Torizo, then the drop into the acid after activating the bridge, then you go and top it off with bomb climbing. You're pure evil, there's no other explanation

This type of work is inspiring Drewseph. Two years were defenetly put into this, and it will take equal amounts of time by another to come close your hack's quality. Looking back, I'm surprised you didn't change the intro part at the space station. With the tilting affect and all, you could have made something to really hook people. Nevertheless, not only have you expanded Super Metroid, but the entire Metoird Universe with your new ideas.

But of course, when one creates something as grand as this, certain issues will crop up that only a dedicated team of developers and play testers could have alleviated before a release. There are a bit too many blind jump/falls where it is impossible to know where Samus will land..be it an enemy, spikes, or nothing..and fall lower than the player intended. Also, I doubt many people are fans of having to kill re-spawning enemies over and over just to collect 5 missiles to open those red doors. Obviously you were aware of this because the re-spawning enemies are right next to those red doors. You could have limited those instances a bit.

And I'm sure the biggest complaint this game will receive is the wall jumping.

I love wall jumping..in the original..and I also love how in your hack she wall jumps more horizontally..looks really cool. Unfortunately, in the process you also made it FAR more difficult to pull off..and as you stated in the Read Me..there are a lot more instances where wall jumping is necessary.

I hate to call your hack a "Hard Type Hack"..since I've advocated that these types of hacks are not true to the spirit of the original and in the end are NOT very fun at all.
But this hack DOES indeed stay true to the spirit of the original.....but IS also very hard..on occasions at the beginning especially, savestate hard.

Regardless..everyone who plays games...period...NEEDS to try this game out.
Outstanding job Drewseph.

I played until I got to the part in Brinstar where you have to wall jump out of the pit.

I absolutely cannot get out of there, and getting near the top only to screw up or hit an enemy, and fall down on the spikes annoys me to no end.

I cheated by using a Moon Jump code to get out of there.. the new wall jumping physics has to be my only real complaint so far. Besides that, the levels are very well designed and much different from the original.

I havn't had any troubles with the wall jumping at all!
As a matter of fact, I think I've close to perfected it!

As a kid when playing this game, I had the hardest time wall jumping, but now I have it down to a tee.
Let me try to explain how I do it:

As you're coming up to the wall, and then actually make contact with it, imediately hold the opposite direction, and hold jump. If you pressed jump at the time you pressed the opposite direction (whilst touching the wall), you're almost guarunteed to make the wall jump.

NOW THEN!!!

I can't find the bombs!
I've been all over the place!
I've gotten the Wall Jump boots, and am now at the far-eastern side of the first map, where there's a room full of acid. I can't do anything else here, so I'm buggered!

A little help please?
*Is such a n00b*

I know how to wall jump, I can do fine with it in the normal game.

It's just that the physics are changed around here, which makes it much harder and I can't get used to it. There's almost no margin for error, which is annoying when you're one jump from the top and then mess up and fall down onto spikes.

I love this hack except for this one point.

I don't know if I'm going to keep playing it normally or not.. I've already messed with the .SRM file and cheats and spoiled myself (the end is awesome by the way, I won't spoil it.. but I'll say that bomb jumping is absolutely essential).

There is one door in Crateria near the very end that should be metal like all the rest but is still blue.. but it's impossible to get there anyway without cheats. If you do go through it glitches will happen.

At first the hack seems very fun, it is definitively only playable for experts. This already begins with the shortened time when escaping from the Space Colony.
Ir is no square ledges as in some other incomplete Metroid hacks, however I played through Metroid and Super Metroid dozens of times.

But as seem as I'm stuck in a very early portion in the game
This image shows it. Copy and paste it, since Lycos doesn't like direkt clicking; and I don't want to spoil something by having the map open (although it only shows a tiny portion of Brinstar):

http://mitglied.lycos.de/mithrandir21/Stuck.png

That grey door in the room below also never seems to open for me.

I cannot go up, since I cannot wall-jump at all. I don't know where to go and I'm slightly pissed due to the lack of a save room in this pit of doom, what it is currently. I can save-state, but if this hack was put on a cart, things might be different.

Please tell me what I actually have to do - do I even need an item to be able to do a wall-jump, like one poster mentioned some "Wall Jumping Boots" ?
And, yes, I read the readme and the thread about the changes in wall jumping, but still - it never works for me.

All together, it is very nice compared to other SM hacks, but maybe I'm just not good enough to proceed.

Hee...you sound like nintendo when game genie came out

Anyways, I wasn't aware you could wall jump. i thought you assemalted it into an item. In that case, it is impossable to do on the psp. Love the difficulty but tweak'n with the wall jump? It was hard enough to do.

Can you blame him? He put two years of work into this, I'd be pissed too if someone decided to cheat.

As for the new walljumping, it's easy if you do it fast enough, though I do kind of wish I was playing on an emulator so I could use savestates, then again that's another form of cheating, really.

Got to Kraid this morning, fell in the spike pit like a dumbass, haven't played since. By the way, I didn't count, how many missiles does it take to open a pink door?

I thought this was a place where you can ask questions and hopefully get an answer. I want to know where the bomb is thats all I bet I can do the rest myself.
