Shakugan no Shana is kickass, but it has a shitty ending, I hope there's a second season to take the bitter taste of rage out of my mouth (heard there'd be a movie though~).

OMG! You're right! How can Valcion not include everyone's favorite show about orgasm-inducing hallucinogenic bread?!

Yakikate is pretty good (and Tsukino= ~), but i haven't seen that much of it.

and another one to add to this list.

Gaiking- Legend of Daiku Maryu. From what i've seen, it looks to be a pretty good "Sequel" to the original Gaiking. if anything, the theme kicks much ass.

Some more reccomendations, mostly mecha again.

1. Zegapain - This has potential to be really cool. The CG-work is pretty nifty, and the mech design is pretty cool. and the main character is hot-blooded. Workings of a good show right here.

2. .hack//ROOTS I know most of you are fed up with .hack, but after watching the first ep, this series will probably deliver what the other .hack series failed to do- Awesome action. There seems to be a lot of talk about guilds and pking and PVPing. I only watched the raw so i cna't say much about it other than that.

3. Aquarion - Seems a lot like Evangelion mixed with Getter Robo. Not to mention, orgasm combinations (I am not lying about this, and this is totally not hentai).

4. Gun X Sword. Pretty fun super-robot series. The characters are...weird and the mecha is even weirder. All oyu need to know about this anime is that there's a parody of GaoGaiGar piloted by 5 very drunk, very old, mexicans, and that there's another mecha controlled by pole-dancing.

I'm downloading L-Gaim as we speak, so i'll let you know how that is after it's done. I've been hearing its pretty good though. It is made of mecha and bad 80's anime hair.

L-Gaim is kinda weird from what I saw in the beginning.. I'd say a typical semi-decent 80s mecha that made it into SRW. I don't think you've recommended Eyeshield 21 or Hajime no Ippo in here yet. Ignore that they are about American Football and Boxing respectively if you don't like those sports, because the series are good enough to make you like everything you see anyway. (ES21 does require a certain sense of humour though, it kinda loses something if you don't like any of the jokes).

I suspect people haven't downloaded GaoGaiGar yet though.. do so. Here's why:

Reason for this being one of its sponsors is X-BOX 360. Meaning that have tonnes of money.

And I recomend almost anything by CLAMP. I like all their work I have watched or read so far.

School Rumble 2nd Season. It takes what the first season had, and makes it even better.

Truth be told, Jilkon. Sports anime=most underrated genre ever. ASHITA NO JOE!!!

Heavy Metal L Gaim is pretty rox. Along with Xabungle, Ideon, and Dunbine, you see how good Tomino's non gundam stuff is.

Aquarion is such psuedo hentai. Gun x Sword is too cliche at times.

Gun X Sword is too cliche but that's what makes it great.

Considering there's a mecha piloted by Pole Dancing, an UGLY looking mech with hte head of a bunny , and a mecha piloted by 5 drunk old mexicans,It doesn't take itself very seirously.

Dunbine Kicks ass. So does wings of Rean.

I watched Zegapain, I might re-download 2 and 3, but I deleted them the first time without watching after I saw the first episode. It was a little meh, and it felt kind of like well cliched. I'm tempted to re-watch though. So yar. But really I was getting major cliche vibes from the first episode.

I think i like the mech design and how the mech's work in general more than i like the stsory

Although the hero does seem hot-blooded and likeable, and that's a plus.

Surprised you don't have Macross 7 up on your list of recommendations. I watched it since you told me about it. It's... incredibly good. The animation quality and character designs are enjoyable, especially for a show that was done in 1994, it doesn't have the cleanness of some modern shows, but I think it gives the characters a lot more well... character with the way it was done. Anyway, storyline's decent, characters are likeable, doesn't get boring (I'm like 6 episodes away from the end), it's not too long (46 episodes, a movie, and 4 OVAs), and the music is awesomely enjoyable.

Oh yeah, and to second the motion, Haruhi FOR THE WIN.

Card Captor Sakura (seriously... just not in English), Angelic Layer and Comic Party are all rather amusing. In case you've been living under a rock for quite some time, Ranma 1/2 is also hilarious.

Also.

Aim for the top 2/Gunbuster 2 is absolutely kicking. Not as good as the original Gunbuster, though. However, it has really likeable characters and the mechs are pretty cool looking.
