I'm using the emulators zsnes & snes9x and still they both do nothing. The program that I'm using to apply ips patches is ipsxp. I really want to play the games The Ninji Saga & Panic in the mushroom kingdom. What is my problem?

Both emulators above have auto-ips patching support, I believe. You don't have to patch your SMW roms with a patching utility. If you're just going to play the hacks, then don't worry about. A little note though, you have to make sure your patch is named the same thing as your SMW rom. (I need to get into the habit of just renaming, not copy, patch, etc.)

No. It still does nothing for me. It it appears that I do not have auto patching. If I do, then I have no idea why it does not show up.

There's a massively good chance that it's on your end and because you aren't patching the right thing. Make sure you have a good 0x200 byte headered Super Mario World US rom.

It's either that, somehow you disabled auto-patching (on by default), or the ips patches are faulty. As I've never used the ips patches you talk about, I can't tell if they're faulty.

Well, you can check by checking the file size.
512 KB (524,800 bytes) should be your size of a good 0x200 headered SMW rom. If you have a different size, you do not have a good 0x200 headered SMW rom. Just go download a valid rom from one of the many sites out there. Also on a different note, the guy meant there should be a 0x200 size header at the beginning of the rom, NOT that the whole file is 0x200 bytes. And on a more different note...wait...never mind...it'd be bad for my status... |

You were right. I just didn't have the correct size of the rom. Plus it was not clean. Problems solved. It works now.

1. Get SMW (US; not SM-Allstars + SMW) (search 'nerologic' on google)
2. Get Lunar IPS 3. Patch the IPS to it... 4. Play the game for many, many hours....until your head explodes 5. Have fun ![]() |
