I'm just lucky I can play Snes; Sega; and GBA. I have Direct X 9.0c (newest version) and Windows XP. I did try the Direct X plugin (supposedly ran off of Direct X 9) but it didn't work either
Anyways; I'm gonna get a job next year, buy a PS3, and get a new PC. Then transfer everything to my new PC (probably a cheap, yet new $400 Dell) and then my old one can go to hell!!!!! Not really though; as it has a good CD burner. |

Well; what GFX file(s) is(are) where the layer 3 GFX are (GFX file #)
Also; where are the tiles that make up the OW normal (standard) animations at (so I can change them); that's what I meant. (BTW, I saw no OW animations in GFX 14 (maybe 2 in the upper right-ish part on the 1st 8x8 page [tiles 4C, 4D, and 4E looked like they'd be OW animations) (edited by cory21391 on 07-15-06 03:03 PM) |

Well, I switched out gfx file 17 with a exgfx file. the exgfx file had like gfx for the smashable bricks and stuff I use a lot. It'd be annoying to have to load it for EVERY NEW LEVEL so, since 17 is default, I switched them. Problem is, I overwrote the bushes and the castle entrance got messed up. Also; I'd like to put new GFX for the castle entrance. So.... How do I point the Castle entrance to load it from level 1FF? (I found a castle entrance pointer on an older memory thread; but vouldn't get it to work (I changed it to 1FF.) Any detailed instructions on how to do it with a Hex Editor? I know you can as I saw it done in (PITMK; not sure.)

Well, I tested it using the hammer bros. sprite and it worked!!
2 questions, though.... 1. I used it @ sprite # 1D (i think) anyways; I didn't feel like placing GFX in the right positions; so I put the GFX file given in for all the sprite files (SP1-SP4) and it didn't look right in LM; but it did in game. 2. How would I use the original sprite in that place? I thought you were supposed to just insert it as usual through the insertsprites window and add sprite manual window for the custom ones; but I'm not sure.... |

actually, I was referring to it pointing to Layer 2 BG image as a pic WITOUT USING (overriding) the map 16 tiles so that you could use more that 128 tiles. I know that SNES only supports 128 tiles; but when I tryed to rip some DKC BGs using the m167k code; some of them have 300+ tiles in them.

Well; I must admit I was too lazy to read this whole thread; so here's how to do it:
Download my ExGFX/ExAnimation tutorial from here http://smwcentral.net/?p=list&type=documents&PHPSESSID=523c2e24c72f585e0a1e2a5e609b5231 Also; I'm not sure how much info is there as I haven't uploaded (or finished) my revised tutorial w/ more info. Here's stuff you need to know: Palettes are limited. You can only use 128 tiles per pic (technically; but if you use 128 then it'll overwrite over all of your land/objects/stuff you NEED) so if you have a big image you may have to re-map it. Personally; I HATE m16-7k as all the damn pics I tryed to use have like 200+ tiles. Anyways; good luck with SMW Hacking! (Super Mario's Journey; release date: probably never ) |

I ahve 1 little problem with this war.....
Well; they're saying that GAS PRICES could get up to like $10/gallon if more countries (Iran for instance; the 4th leader of oil production/export in the world) and that would really suck ass for us. and our economy. |

1st of all; thanks. Secondly, this has to do w/ asm pointers b/c I was talking about the castle entrance address I found POINTING to the level loaded and tryed to change it to 1FF and it didn't work. Either 1, I'm using the wrong terminolgy, 2, I'm an idiot, or 3, uh.., whatever.
Anyways, thanks! |

So... does your program support ExGFX; because this happened when I used it (I didn't change ANY levels; I did change the OW, though).... |

So.. what's the PCX size again; (128?) and that may be the problem. Does anyone know where the address for the BG tiles for the Donkey Kong Country SNES mountains are (in a PC address so I can jump to it in Tile Ed 2000.) The only ExGFX set for this i found was the GBC version (total gayness) so I'm going to try to rip it myself. The only thing I hate would be the palettes
Or, better yet; does anyone know where I can download an ExGFX set for this (SNES VERSION)? Thanks! By the way; I've been trying it by taking a snapshot and resizing it (long time ago.) (edited by cory21391 on 07-18-06 02:02 PM) |

I was looking in one of my old gaming magazines and read about a DK editor for GameCube that you could use to make levels and play through the GBA.
1. Was it ever released? 2. What DK game is this for? 3. What features does it have? |

I was wondering if there was a japanese to english translation for the GBA game
"0860 - Inuyasha Naraku no Wana Mayoi no Mori no Shoutaijou (J).zip" seeing as how it was never released anywhere outside japan and I wanted to play it. |

Well; this is just a sort of opinion thread. Also, so I can get info on really good hacks that I don't have downloaded. So, what's your favorite hack? Mine has definitely got to be Panic in the Mushroom Kingdom by Ghettoyouth; downloadable @
http://smwcentral.net/?p=showhack&id=23 You must include the NAME; COMPLETION (if it's complete or just a demo); DOWNLOAD LINK (if it can be downloaded); AUTHOR; and SCREENSHOTS (if you wish; muy link contains info, download, and screenshots) So... What is your favorite hack? |

In the airships; that is. i was wondering; how can I make it work right in SMW (where it hurts you when it shoots out and not when in stops.)?

Damn!
My vote went to multiple styles; but I accidentally pressed single Anyways, I think you could have multiple GFX styles for sprites. Ex. You have a SMB3 goomba for 1 level; but have the apple looking SMW goomba for another. The only problem would be for individual levels; each individual level should stick to one GFX style and should flow together and look nice. You can use a different style for another level. Ex. SMW style level, SMB3 style level, SMB1 style level; then a custom style castle. |

Well, I'm about to release my revision of
Super Mario's Journey DEMO. I haven't changed the # of levels much (I added 1 level), but I've changed the levels themselves and made them better. There are no new submaps either. Anyways, I want 5 people here to beta test them. So, the 1st 5 people who reply that they want to will be sent a copy tomorrow; b/c I have to polish it up some tonight. Then you can give me bug reports, and suggestions of how I can improve upon it. Thanks go out to peter_ac, Ghettoyouth, anyone else here who has helped me, SMW central, and Jonwil (for blocktool.) And let's not forget FuSoYa for LM and Nintendo for the game. Also, I'm going to send peter_ac and ghettoyouth a copy, they can decide whether they test it or not. (NOTE: I'm not providing any screens here because I don't want the public to see them until I release it on SMW central with pics.) So, 5 people besides peter_ac and ghettoyouth for testing.... Who's up for it? (edited by cory21391 on 07-24-06 12:33 PM) |

I've sent everyone a message except Mike O'Shay (accidentally sent Sparx 2 )
For some reason, when I try to send a message to Mike O'Shay, it says: "Couldn't send the message. You didn't enter an existing username to send the message to. You will now be redirected to the private message box..." Sorry... |
