I think I accidentally found the vicinity of Ridley's Lair. Besides being able to get the Plasma Beam, breaking a few tubes in Maridia, and unlocking a bunch of Norfair doors, what else do you get for beating Ridley? I want to be prepared for when I come back to beat Ridley (I'm going after Draygon first, and I also want to enjoy Maridia while it lasts- it's my favorite area...). So... Thanks, and you probably won't hear much more from me asking for help. I've already found most of the items myself, and I'm only in Norfair to try and find where the Plasma Beam is (I know I can't get it without first beating Ridley), and I also want the Screw Attack. Oh yeah, if there's something I just posted that could spoil part of the game, please tell me so I can edit my post appropriately. Thanks.

Wow. But, uh... How would one create a program? I've been wanting to do that for a while... I like creating things, so why not try my hand at one of the harder things to create- A Program, or, more specifically, a level editor? Mind helping me out here? (You can send that to a PM, I don't mind.)

Out of those questions, here's my answers:

1: No.
2: Of course not, just as long as you don't... you know, use it wrongly.
3: ABSOLUTELY WRONG! I hate it when people get abortions! An unborn child is still a child, and getting an abortion means you're commiting murder!
4: I hate war. I also hate people who don't know when to take our army out of a country to prevent a war. *thinks of Bush* (He's not a very good president...)
5: I'm all for the government giving money to the poor, but not if they raise taxes to do so. As if prices weren't high enough!

So there you have it. Oh yeah, and I also hate our government. Why? They're greedy, they don't care about anyone but themselves, and they destroy families. Why, in the past few weeks, I've been reading that the government is taking parents away from their children because the parents are illegal immigrants, while the children aren't. There was even a case where a child was taken from our country and sent back to Mexico because he was an illegal immigrant. And his mom wasn't! She must've been heartbroken when that happened... Having a family member taken away by the government just because they don't like the people of Mexico coming here... That's just cruel. (At least, that's the way it looks to me.) I'm sure that people are going to argue with me here, but... Those are my thoughts on the government.

Hmmm... Personally the first thing I'd do is change the sprites around so they're better of different. An idea I have is maybe using the graphics from the Metroid Prme series as referense or something depending on how well a sprite artist you are. But something along of new sprites would be cool and something new in a Super Metroid hack.

Drewseph didn't leave much room for anything he didn't do but the only things I can think of are new sprites, tile sets, and music. Changing the music seems somewhat piontless half because its good already and also because I don't even think you can with the current editors out there but as far as new sprites and tilesets are conserened that would be something to really make a new hack look nice.

Just a little idea to throw out there but after what Drewseph pulled off I'm going to love how this new hacking community grows.

Hmmmm... Okay, I'll think about that. Personally, I'm not good at drawing by hand without anything to reference by, but sometimes (very rarely), I manage to make an average graphic. Normally, everything I make looks terrible... I guess I just don't have any confidence in myself, and I'm worried that no one's going to like what I make. I need to get over that.

Oh, I'm still planning. In fact, the only real thing I've done is change the size of the starting room on Crateria! I want to finish SM:R first, so I can clear my mind. It really has taken over my mind this past week...

I think I'm stuck. I know you've said that it's impossible to get stuck, but... I'm in Norfair. I was leaving Norfair when I found some Boost Blocks in the floor of one of the rooms adjacent to the tall passage nearest the Brinstar Elevator, on the left. I went in from the Boost Blocks, but now, my only way out is Shinesparking through more Boost Blocks, and I have no room to charge it up on. I can charge my Speed Booster in another room, but then I have to go through a Morph Ball tunnel. So... am I stuck? If so, thank goodness I saved a state before jumping down those Pit Blocks!

Okay. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I don't get those. At all. But you know? I only use level editors for one purpose- To have fun. Isn't that what hacking should be about? It looks to me like it's about making the best hack the best hacker can make... Still... I'm still open for what to do first. Bear in mind, I won't do them right away- I still need to finish this hack I'm playing.

Sorry, my bad. I have that problem, and I can't stop. So... I guess I should look for Bombable Blocks, seeing as I foolishly made my savestate after falling down Pit Blocks... Either I find those blocks, or I'm going to have to use some overly-complicated Speed Booster run to get out. I hope it's not the overly-complicated Speed Booster run... So, thanks for mentioning the Bomb Blocks. I figured that once you enter an area accessible by using a certain upgrade, you'd have to use that upgrade to get out, and not anything else.

The hang-time is a few seconds, but it's long enough for an enemy to attack you. It's a small price to pay since a Charged Beam is powerful. And yes, there's a hang-time for all the beams.

Oh, I forgot something very important I need to tell you. The Morph Ball seems to be malfunctioning. I can get into open air, where I can un-morph, but sometimes, it kinda locks me in Morph Ball mode. No amount of pressing up will fix it, and even as I type this, I have this problem while exploring Ridley's Lair. It'll suddenly go away, but... I think you should look into this. The Morph Ball isn't supposed to trap you in Ball form in places you can un-morph. It's making me panic right now, as I know that Ridley's Lair should be hard. So... Any tips on how to escape this "bug"? Here's what I've tried to be able to un-morph:
-Bomb-Jumping
-Entering another room
-Laying a Power Bomb
-Getting hit by enemies (accident, but it could work...)
-Going through a Morph Ball tunnel (the only thing that works?!)

On a side note, the last two, I just tried. I entered the nearest door, and for some odd reason, the door glitched. Parts of it went away mysteriously... Hmmm... Help?

Edit: I found the answer- Go through a Morph Ball tunnel. I keep forgetting that... Yeah, sometimes, when going through said tunnels, your Morph Ball will "lock", causing you to stay in Morph Ball mode until going through another tunnel. Can you look into this? It can cause mass destruction of your energy, seeing as you only have two Weapons in Morph Ball mode.

Really? I had no idea there were blocks that told the game when you could and couldn't un-morph. I figured that you could only un-morph when there wasn't a solid block above your head... Oh well. Thanks!

You know, I like this rank set. SMRPG was my favorite Mario RPG game, since, well... It's the only one that actually feels like an RPG game to me. That said, why can't you get Culex's battle sprite, and shrink it like you did Smithy (Wizard Head)? Also... Culex should be the 100th rank, because he's the hardest boss in the entire game, in my opinion. Culex's current spot should go to Smelter (the odd-looking thing that Smithy uses to make those monsters, I forget what they're called), but also, get rid of "Newcomer", and move everything down one. Then you can add in another rank- Count Down. Okay, I'm actually torn between Fink Flower, Machine Made, the Box enemies (Box Boy, Pandora, etc.), Count Down+Ding-a-Lings, Exor, Eyes+Neosquid (Neosquid=The mouth of the Sword), and Earth Link/Mad Adder. Also, I agree with everyone else- Place the ranks in order from Chronological Enemies to Chronological Bosses to Heroes, and finally, the special bosses, Culex, Wind Crystal, Earth Crystal, Fire Crystal, and Water Crystal. Remember, Culex should be last!

Edit: Oh, I see you did the chronological order already. Now if only you'd put the Crystals and Culex after Mario and friends...

Okay, that explains why I can't un-morph sometimes. And here's the weird thing: After I got the High-Jump Boots, I rarely used the Spring Ball ability because I kept forgetting that I had it.

Edit: Got rid of that last part to get rid of what seems to be a spoiler. I'll just stop posting here for help. It makes it easy on me. And better for others.

Really? The heroes are always at the top? Honestly, I never noticed that, probably because no one's really reached that point, except one person who's using the Mario rank set... And as to why I'd like Culex and his "minions" after the Heroes is because... Culex is my favorite boss in SMRPG, period. Smithy doesn't even come close to his difficulty! I mean, even at Level 30, he can defeat me with ease, but Smithy, I can beat him easy. Though when I first did it, I needed the Star Egg... Go figure... So, are you finalising your list? I'm sticking with it to the end, and if it gets placed as a new rank set, you can be sure that I'm going to be one of the first people to use it.

Edit: Here's the names of Smithy's forms, according to RPGClassics:
Smithy
Smithy (2) (You can call it Smithy (True Form) if you want, because he calls that his true form in the game)
Smithy (Safe Head)
Smithy (Chest Head)
Smithy (Wizard Head)
Smithy (Tank Head)

If you want still sprites or monster names from SMRPG, look at RPGClassics.

Edit2: Just like I thought, you got Domino and Cloaker backwards. Cloaker is the one with the sword, while Domino's the one who uses Magic spells.

Just by taking the time to take a quick look at them, would solve a lot of the BS threads that are made. Or, you can just change the name "sticky" to "readme". In the FAQ it could say, "if you are a newbie, before you post read the readmes." This is just an idea. Whether it is a good idea or not, whether you agree with it or not, you be the judge. I'm just posting my thoughts.

You can't force people to do what they don't want to do. If people got auto-bans for not reading the FAQ or Stickied threads when they're newbies, I'd be banned right now. I didn't read them at first (except the FAQ- that, I did read), and I still haven't read them all! Also, giving auto-bans like that seems harsh, and will stop the flow of newbies, and while that'll stop spammers and stupid people, it'll also drive away potential hackers, and they could've been great hackers. So... I'm against this idea all the way.

If this is put in, the worst it should do is prevent the user from posting or creating threads, not auto-banning them. I think that'd solve more problems than auto-banning would.
