Apologies for my last post. I just posted what first came to my mind when viewing that, y'see, it was the jerk on me talking. Now it is the artsy jerk on me talking.
Warning, possibly offensive comments ahead!
The "coydog" and the next one following are the only things I really like in your gallery. The rendering is perfect.
However, I wish I could say the same for the rest of your work. The first arctic fox painting for example, lacks any sort of dimension; the only thing that tells us he is not part of the background is the rudimentary shading in the legs and the back.
Most of the work are just cannids in random posses, not much is happening and there is a sever lack of temperature in them. Fogel Dragoon rough work stands too much as in out of place. You really should try to do at least any sort of basic scene, and show up something else than just cannids. There are many other interesting stuff waiting to be rendered on a painting, trust me .
Are you the person on the first photo, with all the plushies? If so,
Anyway, it is evident you have potential talent. Just learn to use it right, expand your styles and scenarios and all'll be fine.

Originally posted by KailieannChomp Rock would be brutal. SMW doesn't have a special chip that can rotate sprites to create the rolling effect, so you'd have to use up boatloads of GFX space or else have it come out looking choppy.
Sadly, the code itself would probably be easy enough..
I thought the snes natively supported rotation. Just look how the koopa kids rotater when they die, and I think bowsers ship when it drops anything. Those are just assumtions though.
Originally posted by ClockworkzI'm serious. All of the threads here are about layouts, or userbars, or sigs, or some other thing that requires html skill or photoshop knowledge. It's probably reasons like this that people like Tarale stopped posting stuff. Hell; I'm just going to stop too.
All I wanna know is, why are the classic, traditional artists who don't do any fancy computer stuff always ignored?
Because your audience here is a bunch of nerds (no offense to any nerd here ;P). Look at cgtalk (or even deviantart -.-) for a more proper audience.

C&C Please. ...Please?
Samus Aran fanart is always cool.
As for t3h criticism:
I'm really not convied with the posse, it looks...how do you say, stiff? I mean that her posse is more mannequin like than natural movement.
I don't like her hair, if only because it looks more like Cthulu's mouth than hair. Try adding more sparse individual hairs, and making it look less tentacle-ish. Make it flow with nature
The helmet looks more like a disc or shield, perhaps a change in the angle would correct that.
While I am not fond of the style of her eyes, I must say they convey perfectly that resenment look on her.
Good work on the proportions, the head might need a little touchups, but it look good the way it is (in terms or porportions, that is).
She should be wearing her blue suit, she rcoks on it, she not be sex icon > .

+ What do you consider art?
A combination of creativity, effort, skill and effectivity of available resources for the sake of conveying an idea.
+ What do you look/care for?
The first thing I look at is that if it is appealing. Then its purpose along its creativity.
There are so many things I have seen in some museums around here that really shouldn't be called art. An example is at a museum that there was one giant sheet of paper (I estimate it was 50x50 cm), with a tiny building drawn on it, covering at most 5% of the whole sheet. One of my teachers asked me what did I see. I said "one huge waste of paper". The other guy said "it probably conveys how much people care to cover all and thinking the larger, the better; so it is meant to show how such small artwork can be as good as something larger"
Perhaps the artist who did it was a genius, but wasting so much paper (innefective employment of resources) really pissed me off. I'm almost certain there were hundreds of ways much better to convey such a message.
Then again, I was kicked from that art class because I was "so narrow minded".
+ How do you usually interpret art?
As the medium to express ideas not effectively portrayed by traditional forms of communication.
+ What is art?
The first question seems very alike.
+ How does html and different colored borders fit into the art category?
It fits within graphic design, somethign that has been associated with visual arts since the beginning of time.
Nearly everything is called art nowadays, anyway.
+ What kind of art appeals to you?
Visual arts the most (anything drawing/painting/pixelart, film making and even some comic books/webcomics), and then music.
+ What elements do you appreciate most?
The message/idea, and overall feel.
+ How important do you think a critique is? In other words, what value do you place it upon when you're the one giving a critique?
A critique is the semi-objective perception people have about your expressed idea/feeling/whatever. It is relevant in the fact that can help you improve as an artist, and point out those silly mistakes you missed.
+ Do you really seek improvement in your own skills?
Of course, I will die and probably say: "Is that all? Man, your skill is not enough to enter the artsyfaggot heaven".
+ What purpose do you pursue in your creations?
The same hing I defined as art in the first question. But I suck at it.
+ How much effort do you put into your work and what duration of time working on your project is considered hard work?
I work on my stuff to the rate i think it is done. However, being done for me doesn't mean it is a complete work meant to go public. It's just taht I don't see the point of still working on it.
i admire the individuals who can work on their creatiosn for even years, i wish I had their patience.
Originally posted by spiroth10I was thinking that I want to try making some stuff in 3D (basic games and apps)
but I've never touched on the subject of 3D before. Heck, I dont even know how to use modeling software correctly .
If you have programmed in 2d, you have the *basic* idea of what needs to be done. Else, just start with blender. For real.
Originally posted by spiroth10but how hard is it, exacly, to go through teh mechanics of making stuff with OGL? Stuff like collisions: do I have to implement my own collision detection system? I'd imagine it would be a bit easier than a 2d collision system. what about camera angles?
OpenGL just draws stuff for you on the screen. Making a collision engine is up to the programmer in its entirety. And if you think making a proper collision engine in 3d is easier than at 2d, you are doomed ;P
Cameras I don't recall much.
Originally posted by spiroth10how about animations? making the models/textures? and how complex is the code going to be?
The process of making the models and such, any modelling program will help you. You just need to know a 3d file format (or make your own) to translate it correctly to the ogl drawing emthods.

Most of them actually lack some sort of notorius deep meaning, but I enjoy nearly every other aspect of them.
Will post the emaningful later...perhaps. ksgd9pfsgc
Try to generate a database through sql (yeah, I meant the language, in case mysql is not the db in use), and then display its contents within a generated html table.
Try to learn a little of regular expressions if you want to make templates that will be read from external files and be parsed to its proper data (ie, {title} gets replaced by the actual website's title), and stuff like somewhat complex bbcode parsing.
Get used to work with associative arrays.
Think yourself what needs to be done for your blog.
Seriously though, given the shape of my windows and the effective door locking system, there is no way a thug can take me by surprise. So I have always enough time to take any pointy weapon.
