Interesting.
Thats a neat idea you have there. I'll look into it and see if I can do it for you. If I can do it I'll post what bytes you have to change so you can add it to your hack. I'm going to focus on making it so you start the game inside Coneria Castle 2F. |

While I was away from the ROM hacking scene, I learned how to make GameShark codes for PlayStation games. I was making lots of new GameShark codes for the Resident Evil games. Now, I'm thinking about spending a lot of time just doing GameGenie hacking. I don't really feel like getting into a major ROM hack, at least at the moment. Just kinda keeping it limited to ASM and GameGenie hacking. Expect more GameGenie codes for other games soon! |

Play Zelda in Black and White!
YOXTGKTO This code doesn't change any palettes in the game. It simply changes the value that is loaded into one of the NES' PPU registers. Now you can play Zelda for the first time in Black and White, on the real thing! |

Well, if I wanted to, I could make a Game Genie code for every NES game, that allows that game to be played in Black and White. The NES has the ability to play games in color, or in monochrome. It's just a matter of setting one of the values in the PPU Control Register #2. 0 is for color. 1 is for monochrome.

I turned on the game, and when I started, yes it did take me to a different castle, and things were glitchy. I experienced this while attempting to do the ASM hack. However, I reset and started a new game several times, and it took me where it should take me, to the Coneria Castle 2F. I don't know what is causing it to take you somewhere else. It shouldn't be doing that. But, if you guys have entered the bytes I posted, try starting a new game a few times. For the most part, it should work. I don't know if it's because I have a different ROM version or not. | |||

I thought about how cool the Dark Overworld was for Zelda, so I decided to do a similar thing for this level. However, it didn't really turn out as good I thought it would. I don't really like it. It works for Zelda, but not here. The jump isn't that hard to make. And if you can't make it, just keep trying. You should be able to get it in a few tries. What I am doing is redesigning the levels, but keeping the theme intact. Also, the game will be harder. I also plan on doing some major ASM hacking, making this game emphasize more on "Action". Meaning, it will be faster paced, there will be more enemies, and you will be able to whip out every single weapon with a touch of a button, and just blow away everything in your sight. Rapid fire weapons, and stronger bosses. I am confident that I can do a major overhaul to the game's engine. Here are a couple of fresh screenshots. (edited by Rockman on 04-02-06 08:02 PM) |

Yes, there will be graphics changes, but I'm not going to go crazy with all of the graphics in the game. I'm really not that good at graphics, and I don't want to ruin the quality of the game with bad graphics. If this transformation is still in the ROM, I'll look into it. It seems that a few people are interested in this transformation.
One of the new weapons I want to add, is a Flamethrower. It will keep shooting blazing fire by holding down the button. I already have in mind how I'm going to draw the graphics for that! I'm so excited! |

Yes, I want to change the Megaman gameplay a lot. I have been inspired by Dino Crisis 2 and Resident Evil 4. My ASM skills have increased so much that I feel like I can do almost anything! Well, everything except fully code a homebrew ROM.
