I used to plug away through the complex stuff and then make the dumbest mistakes. I'd be working out some triple integral, it'd simplify to "9+4" and then I'd write "15" or something like that. Luckily, that class's prof gave written exams instead of multiple choice so I'd still get most of the marks when I did that.

I never paid much attention in math class, and now whenever I do 3D work I wish I had. I'm good at math in general but since I didn't really learn the formulas I always have trouble with trigonometry and it takes me a little while to remember how to do some things like algebra. I guess I'll just have to see if I can take a similar class in college.

Ooh, here's another one. When you do collision detection against a group of polygons in 3D, make sure you're adding the coordinates of the group as a whole to those of the polygons. (Doesn't help when one of the groups is at (0,0,0), making the routine appear to work some times but not others.)

It's like, you have to know wich coordinates are occupied, and by wich element.

I once did some colision detection in 2D, it's simple as long as it's rectangular..
