BOBTHEVILA, The new GFX you've put is has a nice feel to it. For the edges though... the best suggestion I can give you is to have the edge a little wiggly, and then have it follow the style of the rest of the graphics you've made. Also, the preexisting GFX woudl need to be changed to that style too. Otherwise, very nice.

Aww, there goes my one claim to ROM hacking fame.

(No, but seriously, BD:G fucking sucked. I threw it together, for the most part, near the end to meet artificially enforced deadlines. ;P)

Heh. Yeah, amazing what happened to that place. Are you going to outdo me and actually play-test your hack?

Well, so far I played through the first world and some parts caught me out there lol. Right now I started working on world 2-1 but here's a peek at world 1-4.

I'll post more screenies soon.

That screenie looks great, Googie, it took me a second to realize that was an NES, which I could only tell from the main character, but damn, that's awesome.

And the level doesn't look as evily impossible as some of your SMB hacks, haha. I can't wait to try that thing out.

*drum roll*

S.N.N. now presents...the one...the only....SEWERS OF UTTER DOOM!!!

It's an absolutely colorful mess in Eggvine, but it looks quite beautiful in game. Complete with the famous gushing water sound effect, and jelly ghosts, this level is sure to give the player one hell of a journey to escape.

Comments? (ignore the darkened tile on the right side, been lazy and haven't fixed)

I'll bet it must have been frustrating to make that level in eggvine. Was it done by trial and error?

Well, let me tell you this - the only way to make corners is to match the tiles on the correct layer at the exact lengths - waterfalls are one way - everything is in the vertical propostion - the shadows change and glitch if done incorrectly...need i say more?

See for yourself what that screenshot looks like in E.V.

(This was only a quarter of 4-8, and it took me exactly 7 hours and 32 minutes to finish it - 6 red coins, 2 flowers, and a buttload of other stuff. It was damn hard)

Would it really be so hard to just add a picture of the texture/item those boxes represent. I mean really. Even if they were still just mostly grey boxes, if they at least had a 32x32 square picture in the middle of what that grey box represents. That would make Eggvine so much more..non scary and more approachable. It would also give you at least partially that nice feeling you get when you sit back in your chair and look at a completed level..like in Lunar Magic. That sense of.."Job Well Done Son, Job Well Done."

Or maybe its just me.

Nah. Working without graphics is easy. It's when items mean different things in different tilesets that things get tricky. For example, the white square shown about the middle "Normal Horz. Platform" is called "Plants" in E.V., but in game, it's actually those warp pipe thingys used in 4-Extra (and Jelly Pipe in Yoshi's Story)
This is the reason why a few don't have pictures probably, because they can be 6 different tiles

Eggvine has a learning curve. That's all. Anyone can make anything with patience.
