SMW Hacking is my vote for where it should be moved.
I think this Newbie Forum gets confused as a place for newbies to talk instead of a place for newbies to introduce themselves.

He lives 2-3 houses down so throwing stuff in his yard ain't gonna work . I wouldn't be able to throw heavy things that far =P. I could introduce myself and everything and say hi to him a few times (if I ever see him). I know that there's a chance I might not like him and I'm prepared for that. I think I'm making too many assumptions about him without knowing him, and that's bad. It's messing up my confidence .

Oh... The heavy object idea was golden. Darn.
Anyways, I encourage you to go up and talk to him if you ever see him home at a decent time. Go for it! I know its easier said than done (I've been in your boat), but good things don't stay in one place for long.

I was introduced to boards like 4 years ago, then developed a big phobia of them. Acmlm's board helped me get over that.

Mac still makes computers. Its just that more places advertise and sell iPods, I guess.
I don't think the BestBuy here even has an Apple section, other than the MP3 department.

Generally in my life I've had teachers that were really mean or really nice, but I never had one that was both. My math teacher seems to be a very nice person out of class, but in class she can be pretty harsh. For example...

I failed (along with most of my other class) a math test. She was offering an extra credit assignment for those who got a C or lower, so I gladly took it and finished it for homework. Sense not everyone in my class got one, I figured the people who did would just hand them to her today.

I did so, inquiring to her if this was the right thing to do and she just looked at me funny and started talking, making my question sound as if I was a complete dumbass.

If there's one thing I hate, its being looked down upon without reason. This is when I started to get a little mad.

She then told me in a very impolite manner to go ask the people around me before I bug her again. She has told me to do this once before after I asked a question similar to this one, so I told her that, "I'm not asking the other kids around me, I'm asking you. You're the teacher." I said this with a slight attitude, but not nearly enough to get in trouble.

After all of this, she didn't even answer my damn question. I took my seat with a frown, thinking that it was all over.

Hardly. She opened the class by telling EVERYONE what had just happened, and how you should NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER bug a teacher sitting at their desks before class... Or during... Or after. Luckily she didn't use names, or I'd have stood up and class and cussed at her.

After all this was over and class had offically started, I went back up to her and explained why I gave her the assignment directly (my reason was that not everyone got them). She smiled at me and told me it was alright, then gave me help with parts of the assignment I didn't fully understand. She was... nice about the whole thing then.

What the hell? As you can see, this woman is usually nice, but God-forbid you ask her any questions! My question was not at all stupid. A simple 'yes' or 'no' would've been good! Teachers shouldn't be this crazy in middle school! I bet I've got a lot more comin, though... Its not just me either. I've seen her do this to other kids. Anyways, I later learned that another student asked her the same thing, so thats why there was a speech. Still, she overreacted.

Teacher/student relations have alwasy been important to me. Outburts like this can seem harmless, but they build up tention. If these continue, my grades could be at stake (more than they already are). Any advice of what I should do if this happens again? Or any advice in general?

The program interface may be confusing at first, depending on if you've used animation programs before. Just keep messing around with the program and see if you'd want to buy it.

I would have given her a break and let it be, but she had told me to 'ask the people around you' once before. It really burned me that she did it twice. I mean, its like she doesn't want people to ask her anything.

Anyways, I had a meeting with her after class to try and figure her out. She seems to have catergorized all kids who ask questions into the 'people who don't listen' group. I may not listen some of the time, but I swear she didn't say a word about this assignment. Ahh well, I'll just work on some handy comebacks for next time.

In all seriousness, we've had enough hurricanes for one year. I hope this one isn't that bad.

Meh... Calm down. Didn't you see the tounge face?
I wouldn't like break out 'yo mama' cracks on her.
Do you take me for an idiot? ...On second thought, don't answer that.
Anyways, I think I understand why she is nasty at times after the meeting. Some people have no tolerance, and I'll just have to deal with it.

Meh, don't worry about what people think. Most people on this board find me terribly annoying, but I don't stop posting. If you take everyone's advice on how to become 'less annoying,' then you'll become a shapeless blob of a person, afraid to show your real personality to people because of how they might judge you.

I find it funny how you think you can give good advice about this.
Really, have you been paying attention? The main reason of his being annoying is that he tries too hard. Doesn't that show less of his real personality than just being himself?

Trying too hard is an example of not showing your real personality.
Anyways, Yoshi Dude, I wasn't talking to you.

It doesn't matter that you weren't talking to me, you are talking on a public message board. If you only one person to respond to you, take it to private messages. Don't be an ass.

Yoshi Dude, I do not appreciate you contradicting me. If you don't like my advice I gave to him, then please, don't read it. I am not trying to be an ass. You just told me that my advice sucked, so of course I am going to respond hastily.

Next time, think twice before you act. I was trying to help this person out, and you had no business telling me that my offerings were awful. If I ever want your opinon on my posts, I'll give it to you. Thanks!
