yeah, I suppose that the idea that tragedies happen all the time with out care is a valid point. But isn't that human nature? If something does not affect you directly, you are bound to be more involved in other aspects of your life.

That's not to say there is absolutly no remorse. Of course we feel saddened by any major catastrophe. Namely the Russian school in recent news. But ultimately there is absolutly nothing i can do to help the dying pregant African with AIDS. Hell, I can't even wipe my ass properly.
Plus it is impossible to feel bad for everything that happens. It's impossible to keep track of the current events of every city in the world too.

And I am sure that the AIDS lady didn't care too much about 9/11. It most likely didn't affect her directly, so she focused on more important aspects of her life. such as, why does a certain pale American boy keep generalizing her as African when she clearly lives in Biera, Mozambique.

P.S.
I had to look at a map of Africa to find the name of that city. That isn't knowledge I have on the top of my head.

i think it all depends on the preformer too. If the clown is either hating themself or waaaay too into being a clown, the bad vibe begins to flow.

And i can undersatnd a child being fearful of the clown. They are already afraid of ordinary strangers, so something irregular as a clown would cause shit-fits.

I myself have a job as a childrens photographer. And while we do not dress up as clowns, we do wear silly hats. which, in their own way, are clown like. And of course, there are the frightend childern. But i find that if you give them a minute to access their surroundings, as well as play with a ball with 'em, they calm down feel better.

One year i wore one of those scream type masks. It smelled like candy. Did anybody have an uncomfortable mask experience?

Oh yes, flying things. Thank you. I am also afraid of flying things.
Butterflies, Moths, flies, ect...

good point. but to me, if they are supposed to fly and have wings (such as the moth) then i dont mind. it's the ones that fly but shouldn't (like the grass hopper) or the ones that move way too fast for their own good (the roach) that freak me out.

More to the point, it is things that happen too suddenly that get to me. but yet the combined themes of clowns and sudden movements are what make the jack-in-the-box. Those i never found scary or interesting.

Interesting fact, me and my dad always minimize the importance of 9/11. My cousin's girlfriend had family that died in the attack when they were visiting from Brazil and other places. Interesting fact, it doesn't change anything. Thank you god for instilling something called Freedom of Choice on man

"And I am sure that the AIDS lady didn't care too much about 9/11. It most likely didn't affect her directly, so she focused on more important aspects of her life. such as, why does a certain pale American boy keep generalizing her as African when she clearly lives in Biera, Mozambique."

Sure she does, ever since that happened, America has stopped sending the same amount of aid to those nations, and has been too wrapped up in the Middle East to care. A lot of nations have, so countries like France are stuck picking up the bill.

Interesting fact, how do you know she lives in Mozambique? Why not in Kenya, or maybe in South Africa, how about the Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Congo. Hell, all of Africa is infested with that horrid disease. So, for your information, these places are all in a continent called Africa, which sits between the Indian Oceon and the Atlantic Ocean. To the North is the Mediterranean and Europe. And there are almost no countries in that entire continent that aren't starving or suffering. So, me saying "African" can denote any of those poor people.

And I'm a Canadian-Ukranian, not an American, get your facts right swine.

yeah, i pretty much deny waluigi as part of the mario cast. But then again, any character who was not 8 or 16 bits in the ancient past is not part of MY mario cast of characters.

threads here seem slow, so i wanna jog the Mario section back up a bit if possible.

Almost all levels had their charms and pitfalls, but which was your favorite? your bane?

my fav: Kuribo's shoe level of world five and the bob-omb level of world three.

slightly hated: the autoscrolling sea level of world seven and the autoscroll firechomp level of world five. can't stand autoscrolls

well, there are a few tiny section of the game that I also look forward to. When i reach it, i just sit there and watch.

world 3 map: fortress section while on canoe

world 3-7 (spike level): the vine section

World 4 fortress: the bonus directional lift area

Warp zone: the music and island give me that special yet isolated feel. Like i found something great.

World 2, level 5 (chainchomps): that hidden section at the upper right most side of the level.

cant remember which levels: its at the level's end, just before the card but just after a warp pipe. I'm thinking they are both in world three somewhere. they both contain water at the bottom of the screen, one is a long bridge and the other is a floating block in water. just cool looking to me.

never said this was going to make sense.

not sure if this occurs in other NES emus but if I am running an MP3 player (winamp or JetAudio) while still playing my nes emu (FCEU or Nestopia) I experience abrupt music chunks form the MP3 player. As if there is too much memory being used to process both emu and MP3 player. I thought NES emus were pretty light in that respect. Can you guys give me some info?

* i can get it to work fine if I use an MP3 player with the FCEU, but only if the sound is enabled and turned down to 0.

I like to listen to Overclocked Remix songs while I play. I feel it enhances the experience.

I think you are right about FCEU running heavier than Znes. but why?

I'm running Win2000 on my computer.

well, as it turns out, using FCEU with the sound turned down works just fine for me so I stuck with it. I don't really know what my processing power is or really care. all I know is that this thing is five years old now and I need a new one.

I'm such a loser.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in the field of Multimedia but still know just as much about a computer as I did in highschool. not really, but close enough to make a point. but then again, my focus was on art and animation than programming or hardware.

... did i get off track?
Uhm, thanks for the input gang.

so, i bought mario kart double dash last night and i cannot make up my mind if i like it or not.

pros so far:
it is a mario kart game.
the co-op is surprisingly fun.
that cannon blast in in the DK course is cool.

cons so far:
it dosen't feel like a mario game, it feels too cute.
there is now grand prix for more than two players.
courses aren't all that fun.

maybe the original mario kart is so ingrained in my brain that i have difficulty liking anythng else. only play Mario kart 64 once and can't remember it. played the GB advance mario kart and remembering that i should have liked it, but didn't. what do you guys think?

Now don't say that about Toad! I think he is an incredibly underplayed character. The mushroom retainers (is that right?) were there to defend the fort before bowser came along. the should make a game set between Yoshi's island and SMB. about the time period were mario was all but forgotten and boswer was still not old enough to make a successful move on the mushroom kingdom

off topic a tad. sorry

but yeah, Waluigi is the worst excuse for a mario character. He was a last ditch effort just like Nebetsu said.

yeah, but you gotta admitt Waluigi feels like a good old fashioned rip-off. all the games he has been in have been party games. He never was a villian or hero of sorts, he's just an excuse to balance out the Mario Bros. with the Wario Bros. scheme.

hmmm, an interesting idea would be to have a Wario game where two players square off to find more tresure than the other. Or just some game that involves Wario and Waluigi competing against each other.
