The Mega Man Home Page brought up the similarities between MM1-Elecman stage music and REM's "All the Right Friends".
http://www.mmhp.net/Appear/REM.html

This lead me to remember SMB3's level 3 map music being similar to Janice Ian's "At Seventeen". Does anybody have any other similarities that they would like to share?

Does anybody know of, or are the creator of, or are creating a Zelda 1 hack using Link's Awakening graphics?

i used to love the TR series.

TR1 was one of my first Playstation experience and it was the type of game that all my friends could play in terms of puzzle sovling. to this day, i have proud memories of figuring out the trick to beating that giant leggless boss.

TR2 was a game beyond belief for me. It was the TR that I actually beat on my own (of course I used the weapons cheat, but seriously, shouldn't all games have infinite ammo?)

TR3? hmmwell. naw, dont really care for it. but crouching and sprinting was born here so all is well.

TR4 was an awesome step towards TR2 glory while putting laura were she belonged the whole time, the tombs of Eygpt! 'cept i hated the lack of weapons.

TRC, kinda liked it. Surprisingly the level without any weapons was my favorite.

neverplayed TR: Dark Angel. looks sweet though.

my only true disappointment is that there werent enough monsters in the series as they were in TR1. i like giant legless monsters.

it was a game that i picked up purely for the quirkiness of it all, and a low sticker price to boot. It turned out to be a surprisingly fun game.

A tomb raider style beat-em up, you could perform combos as well as use your trusty cirlce ring of death thing. the bonus for that is that you can also navigate the ring of death from 1st person perspective.

Most notable level: hacking at the cyclops' fingers to dislodge him from the cliff. I love really giant bosses!

yeah Mario 3 Workshop does sound the best so far, good for abbreviating (M3W).
how about involing an aspect of the game itself in the title. Lunar magic does this to a degree by alluding to the 3-up cresent moon happy face.
maybe something cool like "Tanookie Pro" or "Thwomp's Overhaul".
wait. those aren't cool.

in regaurd to the icon:
Good idea using a level 3 sprite. Whistles would be cool, but they don't seem to work here.

Call it a hunch, but i believe once this new editor is complete there will be a flood of new SMB3 hacks the likes of which the world has never seen since that one dude built that big boat.

but that's good think Ringo. The concept of a suit editor is pretty sweet. way back when, when i first began playing SMB3, the game seemed limitless! I was hoping for a bear suit. the attack would be similar to the tail, but mario would swipe a paw instead and he could take out thwomps and stuff. at least the Tanooki suit was visually close to my imagination plus the statue end of it was totally kick ass.

I really enjoyed the bowser-storming-the-kingdom intro. But My game glitched after beating the first level and it didn't do anything. I'm too much of an impatient man to stock any time passed that. I might try again. It's all I can do to finish this reply!

I switch between FCEU and Nestopia.
Fceu for its anti-aliasing (right? the blurred look I mean. good colors too.) and Nestopia for its rasted look and rapid fire! Pew Pew! Dow dow dow.

It was Dig Dug and Donkey Kong (which my little brian could only acknowledge it as Don King Kong). It was on a TI whatever. You know, those keyboard w/ cartridge slot type generic systems.

Was this poll for level design coding-wise or gameplay-wise. I voted gameplay-wise, cuz that's what i thought. So i picked SMB3. the only game I am familiar with in coding terms is SMB1, and that is still a mystery to me.

I wouldn't call it my most favorite as i would call it my bane in SMW!
it is the most memorable and It STILL gets me to this day. that one where it is only pipes and P-ballons. it might be called "tubular", but i call it "suck-ass hell" so it doesn't matter.

I thinks it's best that I get to you first before some wise apple with l337 talk shoots their mouth off. It is fairly common knowledge at this point that the names where switched upon american arrival. It's just one of those things that never was fixed. Much like the whole "Claw Glip vs. Claw Grip" or "Luigi's short-lived stint as a homosexual to increase ratings" thing. But while on the topic of SMB2 anomolies, it seems to me that Sub-Con was a world that only consisted of about ten bug-fairies. And ten bug-faires couldn't really occupy ALL of sub-con. So Wart and his people more or less filled in the unoccupied space. Now maybe the bug-fairies happend to fall inside a jug and close themselves in accidently, We'll never know. Team Mario, drunk off their power from their last adventure, took it upon themselves to overthrow the current Sub-con residence. leaveing in their wake a trail off murder and rape (yes, princess too).

uhm, where was I? yeah, birdo is the egg boss and ostro is the ostrich.

On whole it seems that people were about four. I remember playing Ice Hockey when i was 5 and losing to a 2 year old. That's right! that kid was literally still in diapers and he still whooped my ass. To this day i still suck at Ice Hockey.

moral of this story: Ice Hockey is best left to the professionals
