| I'm going to have to side with Silvershield in this, in that "Humans > Animals". But what seperates humans from animals is not having the physical properties of a human, after all, humans, physically, are little more than shaved apes. It's the mind that counts, and the behaviours. Likewise, not all homo sapiens are actually human. Hitler was not a human. So I'd need more clarification to the question: A dog, versus a human, or a dog, versus a homo sapien? In the former case, the human wins. In the latter, the homo sapien would win unless I have emotional attachment to the dog. As for the ants, they're so incredibly below human life that it wouldn't start to be a crime until the enviromental effects caused enough damage to harm humans. |

| Dir en Grey is the best band ever formed. To be specific, they're Japanese. And that's about as specific as you can get. I can't say they're metal, although R to the Core and NEW AGE CULTURE certainly are metal songs, I can't say they're rock, though IIID EMPIRE and Red... [em] are definitely rock songs. I can't say -anything- about them, style-wise because its so incredibly diverse. The only thing I can say about them is that out of 79 songs of theirs I have, I don't like three. That ratio doesn't exist in any other band I know of. So do yourself a favor and download some Dir en Grey. I recommend Cage, Mushi, Kasumi, Yokan, I'll, and Red.. [em] over the others. |

She's not even in highschool yet. You're aware that she's no where even NEAR fully developed or matured mentally, right? She's going to change, a LOT. It doesn't really matter how mature she is for her age right now because her brain's physiology alone isn't done developing. She may say she loves you now, but do you know for certain whether or not she really does? Let her go. If she really does come back to you after four or five years there, then I'm wrong and I apologize for any harshness I had.

Ok lets face it: You're a theif. Who are you more likely to attack: Defenseless person or armed, very-much-able-to-defend-himself person? The answer is easy. Now what if you don't know if the person is armed or defenseless? Well, then you take your chances. Let's say, 1/10th of the people are armed. That's a pretty good ratio. You can mug quite a lot of people without getting into any real resistance, if you're careful. Let's say the rate is 1/2 of the people are armed. That's definitely not a good ratio. There's a VERY high chance of you getting shot as you try to mug them. You likely wouldn't even try because of how dangerous it would be. Slay - You have to admit, you're wrong on the whole 'guns r bad lol' thing. I used to agree with you, I used to think swords and stuff were honorable and cool and should be used over guns because the emphasized skill in use. That's all fine and good in the arena, where you want to find out who's the most skilled. In personal defense and national defense, I don't want the 'fairest' 'most skill-necessary' weapon. I want the most effective machine possible to eliminate or disable my enemy as efficiently and quickly as I can. That is what the gun is ( ACtually newer technology, such as stun guns are ). A 5'2" woman stands no chance against even a 5'10" man attacking her. Give that same woman a gun and even the strongest person on earth would think twice before attacking her. And for that reason, I think guns should be legal for self defense purposes. Conceal carry and all that. I do NOT think they should be legal for all people though. Alcoholics, criminals, drug addicts, etc. do not get guns. Therefore I think that background checks and screenings are great things. Even with the best gun laws you're going to have shit happent hough. But you shouldn't ban all guns ever just because a few people go crazy, just like you shouldn't ban cars for the same reason.

Stop fighting over music genres. "OMG THEY'RE BLACK METAL" "NO THEY"RE PROGRESSIVE DEATH". who cares?  Stop classifying your music so much. Say, "mmm this is pretty heavy it gets a +1", or "man this guitar tone sounds like a shitburger, it gets a -1".That said, Cradle of Filth isn't bad. I enjoy most of their music because its catchy and usually pretty heavy, even if not Pantera or Deicide levels. You all have to admit though: Mainstream means money, money means good recording quality, good recording quality ( most of the time ) means good tone. Good tone means happy ears.

I would not want to be a doctor in Sweden. If I studied my ass off in college for 10 years I do NOT want to get lower wages. Free market, people. The best doctors get paid the most. As long as the doctors in the US/Japan/wherever are making great dollars, the best doctors will work there. As for free healthcare and all that, it's a nice ideal when you don't really think about it. But you've got to remember that someone ALWAYS pays for EVERYTHING.

I play an ESP LTD F-50 into a Boss MD-2 distortion pedal and a Boss EQ pedal, running into a Rogue GS-100R 100W 2x12 amp. I plan on getting an E-FR-120GT as soon as I can afford it, and then either a Vox Valvetronix amp or a Behringer LX1200H and Avatar 4x12 cabinet. I want to get a set of EMG pickups for my guitar, probably 85b/81n or 85b/60An. | |||||||||||||||
