I believe nuclear, solar, and hydrogen research will take us much further than fossil fuels ever can in the development of efficient energy management practices.

I also have a fervent dislike for the fossil fuel industry for their money-grubbing and their constant release of CO2 gas into the atmosphere, which I believe will eventually choke the earth and melt the polar ice caps, putting 80% of the American population underwater.

I believe the Bush administration is being pulled at the strings by corporations such as Halliburton, and that antitrust legislation is what we desperately need right now.

I believe we're being distracted by our overseas conflicts while domestic policies are being flitted under our noses.

Finally, I believe polar bears are beautiful, majestic creatures that deserve our respect and attention. Especially since they're tough enough to rip a human being apart with their eyebrows.

Aw, yeah... The hammer brothers are my personal favorite enemies in the pack. They're like Bowser's elite troops. And the hammer suit was the coolest in SMB3.

I really really love these, it looks like you're shaping out to make a really immersive world if you're taking all of this stuff from all of the games and transferring it to this art style. You're doing a monumental undertaking, and so far it's looks great.

Are you gonna do stuff like the sea urchins and puffer fish from SMW? Those were pretty cool, IMO.

The sheer randomness of Eternal Darkness has caused it to be notorious for glitches and errors that exist outside the game's normal breadth of insanity. You have to remember, it was created in the early days of the Gamecube, and was a pretty monumental undertaking, innovation-wise. Of course there's gonna be a few loose nails in the coffin here and there.

Even though it was bumped, I have to put in a request for whomever thinks it's a good idea to close this to not close it, as I like this game a lot, and if Xeogred's still looking to host it, I'll keep playing.

Alright, Kefka, you're assuming I'm going into this debate not knowing the problems of the sources I advocate.

Firstoff, there are two kinds of solar panels (as I'm sure you know). As much as I like the idea of photovoltaic cells, the aluminum panels that are used to heat water to turn turbines with steam are also good, you just need a crapload of a lot of them. Not only that, but european plastics companies are experimenting with solar panels made not out of silicon, like the expensive ones, but with plastics that are 20 times cheaper and only half as effective, meaning you could theoretically produce ten times as much energy for the same amount of money. And the room required for solar panels can be circumvented by the fact that (in America anyway) there's a heck of a lot of land that's completely and totally unsettled in many parts of the world. The entire world's population could theoretically be crammed, shoulder to shoulder, in the Hawaiian Islands if we didn't have all of these buildings in the way.

If someone had the guts to continue with nuclear research, even on a basic level, there's no way we wouldn't find a way to minimize or get rid of nuclear waste.

And as for hydrogen, it doesn't take more energy. It used to take more energy, now it takes about as much energy, and soon if research on that subject increases, it'll be that much easier to get hydrogen from water molecules and require less energy than coal or oil power.

Kalar: "Gaaaaack!"

As his electrically conducive arm is exposed to the current, Kalar is heavily shocked and overcome with the burst of lightning. In order to minimize the damage as much as he can, Kalar tries to ground himself by stomping his metal foot into the ground and letting the electricity pass out of him that way. It succeeds, but when Kalar withdraws his leg, he is quite dismayed to find that his arm is randomly and uncontrollably jerking in various directions.

"Ah, this is pretty familiar. I remember this happening to me once when I was trying to change a lightbulb, it wore off eventually, but I had a hell of a static shock for some time."

He seems completely unfazed as his arm, with rapier in hand, continues to move and twist and contort itself. In fact, his rapier is being swung at his head and body several times, but for some reason Kalar doesn't even notice, nonchalantly dodging his own strikes....

"So anyway, until this wears off, mind telling me why you're so intent on hurting me?"

His arm is rather creepy, and seems to almost have a life of its own.

I would live in the FMA world, if anyone were able to use alchemy. I'd also love to live in The World, or the Get Backers world.

Heh, going to the Azumanga Daioh high school would rock, too, just to be able to hang around with Sakaki, Osaka, or that creepy-ass male teacher. But the only reason I'd want to live on the Nadesico
Spoiler:
died at the end of the third episode
.

If I lived in Konoha, I'd probably commit suicide because of all of the ninjas around me.

Of course, the winner of all of these is the One Piece world. I don't like One Piece too much anymore, but I just can't resist the pull of the high seas and the poke of the rapier.

EDIT: Having looked at my avatar, I suddenly remember how fucked up the Bo-bobo world would probably be, too.

OOC: *Slams head against wall* Where's Kirb when you need him? OK, split personality, Ex being, not one, but two versions of my main character's rival, and a guy I've never even heard of saying he's fought me in the past. I can deal.

Janus was taken aback by the sudden influx of warriors who had appeared. Star and Schwa had apparently recruited more people than he thought... In any case, the more the merrier. He was still waiting on some attendants, himself. Still, Star needed to know more of what was going to happen, especially since he and Janus would be doing most of the engineering here. Janus took him aside and continued to explain a few things to him while the rest of the group got to know each other...

Janus: "Star, seeing as how you can travel through time too, I'm going to need your help here. I'll assume you remember what I told you about the Radiant Order, right? How there's five of them and they're terrors to the human imagination? We need to destroy them or convince them to stop their ways. You know all of this already, though."

He didn't wait for a response.

"Well, I was wrong. Minus me, there's four. And one of them went the same way as me, making three. Trouble is, I can't seem to find her, which sucks, because she'd be a hell of an ally."

He paced back and forth in the private room he was conversing with Star in, and worried a bit more...

"Are you sure these guys are good enough? I heard the rest of your alliance talking about how you haven't made a serious boost in power for a long time, and since I'm gonna guess you were somehow connected with recruiting these guys, I'm worried. Remember, I told you that nobody can die. NOBODY. Everyone has to be returned to their proper times. Since nobody can die, they have to know what they're up against before they join in."

He then pulled a screen down from a nearby wall in the room, which was furnished with a desk and chair, as well as basic fluorescent lighting. On the screen was a display of three strange looking people, two male, one female. Janus pointed to the male on the far left, a short, stout fellow dressed in black with chains and shackles all over his body. At his side he carried a paintbrush and across his back was a collapsable easel.

"This is Algus, the first of the three remaining members of RO. He's our target this time. He is the presiding deity of art, and is a master of visual manipulation. I've managed to locate him after about six months of searching. If he managed to show up, Odin should know the most about this area, he's in northern Europe, somewhere around Finland. Grey found the general area, we just need to search for his hideout.

You might ask why I insisted on raising an army, I suppose. The thing is, there are obviously subsidiaries to each patron that need to be dealt with. There are hundreds of different kinds of art. Concept art, mosaic, sculpture, you name it, it exists, and Algus presides over it, with one of his subsidiaries managing it. Thus, to deal with these people and their powers, we need counterpowers of our own. Hence the army."

Janus pointed to the middle person, the female. She was a tall, thin woman, blonde-locked, with loose, baggy pants and shirt. Her stare was fierce, and the very picture of her would strike fear into the hearts of men and women, despite how non-threatening she seemed at first glance. She had a camera bag at her side, and a video recorder in her hand.

"This is Raon, the second member. She presides over film and television. As such, she too is good with visuals, but we're not dealing with her this time, so I don't think I need to brief her. I knew her personally, as did I Algus; She's much cleverer than him, though he's far more intuitive. But we aren't ready to take her on yet, she's far too strong even for an army. We need something more, and Grey is still researching the film industry as it is."

Finally, Janus pointed to the man on the right. He was tall, garbed with buckles all over his body and slicked back brown hair. What was creepiest about him, however, was that at his side he carried a duffel bag, much like Janus's....

"This is Axel."

Janus spat out the words. He stared at the picture with an intense scowl on his face. The very thought of Axel made Janus want to lay waste to the world around him. But control was key. He'd get his soon enough.

"I'll talk about him later..."

Janus then turned to Star, and walked a few steps closer to him.

"But before we do all of this, there's one problem we have to cover, and it involves you and I expressly. We need to save the lives of Evan Williams, John Blase, and Jason Miller, better known to you as Agents Red, Blue, and Green. I've devised a plan to save them and still keep the timeline intact, without my realizing that they are alive, and to bring them here without paradox, but to do this I need your help, as well as the help of one other person.

When they died, I was unconscious. As far as I know, they were blown to smithereens by Axel and Raon. When I awoke, I didn't find any trace of them anywhere, which leads me to believe that they were entirely eradicated and destroyed. In other words, so long as I don't find any trace of their bodies back then, the timeline will remain intact. The catch is, we would have to save them while they were being destroyed, so that no trace could be found and they would be pulled away at the right time.

It's a bit like Chrono Trigger, actually. I've had wax duplicates of them made to perfect detail. We need three people because we need three bodies to be carried, and that's too much for just you and I. The plan is to carry the figures to the moment where Red, Green and Blue are about to die, then replace them at the last second with the duplicates by stopping time and taking their bodies back with us to this time. It's risky, and I'm not sure if it'll even work, but it's a plan that's definitely worth trying. Are you in?"

Posted on 03-21-05 03:45 PM, in TR3 Grey vs. Jarukoth Link
But in the moment that Jarukoth spends summoning his six clones, Janus is gone, having retreated to Shino's Shadow Matrix in order to help Red.

Janus: "Evan, let me help you out of there!"

Red's pride remained steeled, as kunai wounds open on his body along his limbs and torso. He's bloodied, but not beaten...

Red: "No way, Janus! This is MY fight, and I'm gonna win it!"

At this point, Janus was fuming. It was certainly extremely hard for someone as patient as Janus to get angry at something, but Red had pushed a few too many buttons.

Janus: "You fool! What were you saying just yesterday to John about teamwork and diverse skills? You're just being hypocritical if you won't accept that there might be someone who can assist you in your plight, and selfish too, if you'll help others but are too prideful to accept help!"

Red started at this, as Shino moved around him in the Matrix. Was that true, he wondered...?

Janus reared back, ready to throw his hammer.

"And if you're not going to accept my help of your own will, I'm gonna force you to accept it!"

He chucked his hammer into the circle of shadows, not at Shino, but at Red, who was slammed out of the Matrix and into the air! Satchel supported his weight and floated upwards, while Janus leaped into the air and landed gracefully on Satchel's head with Red slung over the handle...

"Now, you're gonna work with Jason and me as a team, and.... Jason?"

Janus looks for his teenage comrade, only to find him facing down a supermutant two-headed werewolf...

"Oh. Well, fuck."

-----------------------------------

Green had no idea what hit him. With the electrical field still around himself, Green was able to retain enough kinetic energy in his body to keep from dying of endothermia, but damn, that was cold!

Green (thinking): 'And it smelled kinda bad, too... What's she been eating?'

Green threw his arms in front of himself, and weathered the icy blast as long as he could, until the cold got to be so bad that he tried to zoom away from the attack as quickly as he could!

That was when he realized "as quickly as he could" wasn't all that fast...

As soon as he stumbled away from the blast, Green looked down at his shoes. They were frozen solid, effectively rendering him slow and grounded until he was able to melt the ice on them. Red would have to take care of that, Green didn't want to risk short-circuiting his shoes.

He looked up, only to see Janus standing on Satchel and Red slung over it. He guessed he wasn't going to be getting that for a while. He'd have to stall, until he could defibrillate Red...

Green turned towards the horrifying two-headed beast, and started rubbing his hands together while encasing them inside the sleeves of his suit. Static electricity! He charged it up for a second or two, and ran with his cold feet toward Ada, only to lash out, his body charged with electricity, with a collection of punches and kicks!
