I'm a huge ska fan, but I'm really picky about my tastes; I love Goldfinger and the Aquabats and I think Catch 22 is godly, but I can't stand most of Reel Big Fish or Sublime or even some of Less Than Jake's stuff. Also, I think Five Iron Frenzy sucks, mainly due to their lyrics and because their sound and improv style is just kinda repetitive if you listen to some of their songs.

I also listen to J-Rock, I like The Pillows and Asian Kung Fu Generation above most else, the loud, upbeat sound more than makes up for the fact that I can't understand what they're saying. Hopefully, if I take a few classes in college, that'll change.

Rock's big for me too. I like stuff nobody knows about, like Jim's Big Ego and The Presidents (which I know people have heard of but you don't see them too often anyway, with the exception of really recently). I'm an Offspring fan, but only at LAN parties when I really need loud and obnoxious music to get going. Anywhere else, it just doesn't fit. The Dave Matthews Band. I'm a big fan of them, but recently I've sorta grown out of it, DM himself has just stopped making sense to me. He's an excellent musician, but his lyrics and voice have lost their charm (especially when I realized how much he likes talking about oral sex).

(Continues down the list) Barenaked Ladies, love them. They're just awesome, they have some real hits for me. THE BEATLES. Definitely the Beatles, songs like In My Life, Yesterday, and With a Little Help From My Friends are what makes the world go around. Chicago, they're alright too. Flogging Molly, I just discovered them but they're really cool for how little I've seen of them, more of that rowdy, raucous stuff I love.

I'm a DDR slave too, so naturally I love some of the songs I hear on that. DJ Taka in particular makes some excellent mixes. Modest Mouse is in the same boat as Flogging Molly, I just learned about them but some of their stuff is just beautiful, especially songs like Ocean Breathes Salty. Simon and Garfunkel are pretty good too.

Moving on.... Musicals. I love musicals. Jesus Christ Superstar and Avenue Q are two particular favorites of mine, though Pippin and Into the Woods are good too. I've listened to some Nightwish, they're alright. Not the best, but definitely a powerful sound to them, something I could listen to more than once. Jimmy Eat World and Weezer, especially Weezer, will always hold a special place in my heart for songs like The Authority Song, The Good Life, and Photograph.

I have to admit something though, throughout all this, I'm also a Weird Al fan. He's just funny, to be honest.

Alright, that was a lot longer than I expected it to be. What's worse, there's even more stuff that I listen to. I'll get into that some other time.

Did he spontaneously decide to cut his fingers and ear off? As in, did the need to suddenly pop up because of a problem he encountered. I can't figure out how to put it to the right words, though.

The Sam and Max games were pretty good, from Lucasarts, I believe? Yeah, that was before they started massproducing Episode I and II games... I really wish I could play those games again, they were pretty funny. Same with Monkey Island, I have trouble playing those, but they were excellent.

So you mean the CD one was just a rerelease of the floppy game? I'll have to pick it up sometime, then! (I thought it was a second game, which was why I said gameS) Of course, now that that's over with all that remains is to find it, which will probably be insanely hard itself...

Compatibility issues alone are enough to turn me off to a game, though. For example, there's a compatibility issue with Rollercoaster Tycoon and Windows XP. I couldn't play RC Tycoon on my WinXP comp, so I deleted it.

Blue: "That is indeed quite a problem... Perhaps we should reconsider, then."

However, of all people to speak up at this time, Green comes in with an idea.

Green: "Wait, the Buster Beetles aren't REALLY united if this conflict is still going on, right? That means that she must still exist somewhere even as we speak! Obviously we can get her from wherever she is if she still exists. It's just a matter of finding the right plane of...existence...and... going to it......."

Is it possible? Green's got no clue.

Well, my MAIN beef with the whole antiterror thing is the fact that there's a threat of law enforcement being able to tap into Instant Messages. I'd call that a loss of civil liberties. I'm also not a fan of the No Child Left Behind plan, because it's driving the overall intellectual level of the country down, by spending money on people who either cannot learn or simply do not care enough to learn or want to learn. Some people are not meant to go to school, some people are meant to become successful through their actions and not education. Unfortunately, because America has an inferiority complex with several other countries when it comes to education (who DOESN'T like knowing they're smarter than someone else?), we're subjected to policies that force people who could easily function in the outside world to instead stay in school and get diplomas for their failing or just barely passing grades.

Did you know that my school has comformed with NCLB by introducing a program called "Ramp Up"? Yes, what happens is if you slack off and waste time in class and get a failing grade for the quarter, you're allowed to make it up! How? Simple, stay after school for one hour a day, one day a week for six weeks and don't even worry about grades, you'll totally pass so long as you show up. After all, considering we have 85 minute blocks every other day that people are entirely capable of passing, there's no reason why you can't be given the exact same credit for 1/15 the work!

You know what's worse? There's an Algebra 1B class at my school. For Seniors (to give you an idea of where that stands, you're supposed to graduate with at least Algebra 2). You know how I know that? I'm gonna be grading their tests in my spare time as part of an agreement with the class's teacher, who also teaches my Calculus 2 class. The meaning of my diploma just went into the trash.

So yeah, a few parts of the REAL Patriot Act (the one that your politicians had their secretaries skim through and brief them on a few points they thought were kinda important), as well as No Child Left Behind are what I have against Bush. Will Kerry do any better? How should I know? Chances are, he won't. But if we keep Bush in office, things aren't gonna change from what they are now.

Actually, I stopped watching FMA a long time ago, I first heard about it from my friends and got hooked for awhile. After Hughes left the series and it got licensed, though, I sorta lost interest.

Of course, when I said things won't change, that too was a double edged sword. People who like Bush's policies will be well-appeased, but those who dislike them will want a change, which won't come about. I guess it's open to interpretation.

I suppose I shouldn't let my diploma's value sink, but NCLB just made me incredibly angry. My mother works as a guidance clerk and she constantly has to hear from teachers about how they dislike the institutions of NCLB and programs like Ramp Up. NCLB has done wonders around the country for school systems that actually need it, but I don't think it should be forcibly implemented, I think that state governments should be able to decide whether or not they want it. My school system seems hindered by it, but there are plenty of schools out there that could still leave it implemented and benefit from it. I consider that one of the Bush Administration's mistakes.

I also have an issue with his wish to bring prayer back into schools and state. Religion will always be a paramount issue in politics, primarily because of so much circumvention of the need for separation of church and state. I am not a Christian, or a Jew, or anything. I'm not even an aetheist. I doubt I'm agnostic either. But what I have no doubts about is the fact that I do not want to have to pray in schools, and I do not want the government of a country that is based entirely on freedom of speech and belief to have to be subjected to the belief system of the president.

Continuing with my string of issues that don't involve our dubious economy (considering how vastly uninformed I am about that subject), I had a serious problem with his push for a constitutional amendment outlawing gay marriage. An Amendment. That's not something easily circumvented, and it's not like it's a rule meant to be broken. That is out and out making it illegal for gay people to get married, to exercise a symbolic representation of their love for each other. By making an amendment against it, we're exercising bigotry towards normal people which, by all reasonable logic, should be impossible. In the very least allow civil unions.

If Bush makes even ONE of these changes to his administration, he will be well on his way to having one more person support him.

Janus: "APH!"

Leaping from the wreckage of a nearby UFO crash, Janus slips behind Brightman, hammer in hand. He then taps Brightman forward, working with APH to ensure that his attack hits and that Brightman's bulb is shattered. Brightman's easily the most dangerous thing on the battlefield at this point.

"We need to watch out, raw power alone isn't what will sustain these robots! Everyone, be careful of team attacks and any robots that can do more than just damage us! Brightman isn't the only one!"

OOC: Yellow Demon?

Janus: "Damn! I hope that's not what I think it is! Guess I'll have to switch tactics here... A hammer's not gonna do it if we're going up against THAT..."

Janus's hammer instantly turns back into a satchel, as he draws a small pole out from within it. The pole extends into his strange metal quarterstaff; this one, however, has a different feel to it. A small switch halfway up the shaft of the staff reveals a new function. When Janus presses it, a slot towards the top of the staff opens -- and out slides a blade. A scythe!

"A present for me from the Reaper himself! I don't quite favor bladed weapons, but this is a special case."

The scythe's blade is a strange one. When one looks directly at it, it almost seems like it's not there. In fact, it definitely looks like there is no blade. However, when one stares at it out of the corner of their eye, or suddenly sees it when their mind isn't busy whispering to them "There is no blade, there is no blade...", one will realize that there is indeed a blade attached to the staff, a blade so fine it can cut the wind itself...

He's counting on the basis that one leap year is the norm, while all other years have one less day to them. It'd be like starting with a year that has 366 days to it. However, it seems like any way you slice it the last year will be a leap year, meaning there's one extra day to add onto it. 600X365 +149 = 219149, which comes out to 31307, with one extra day.

Heian, your logic seems to make sense, but the years that are a multiple of four are leap years, there are not four years between each leap year, every fourth year is a leap year. Four divides very easily into 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 hundred, so those years are all leap years, giving us not 145 extra days, but 150.

Janus looks, dumbfounded, at the extremely strange mechanical object before him. He sheepishly puts away his scythe, and reequips his hammer.

Janus: "Well, so much for that. Invincible, eh? There's a fine line between unstoppable and invincible. Let's see if you walk it..."

Janus leaps high into the air toward the turret, landing on its very top.

"No matter how good you are at turning, you can't hit what you can't aim at!"

Janus runs up to one of the turret's large cannons, the top one, and rears back, unleashing a shattering blow on its shaft, hoping to warp the barrel and cause it to misfire!

"Earthquake!!!"
