Not these boards per se, but I've had a few pages where I couldn't load it once or twice.

Looks like the NESkimos site got hit with it too (It's numbered 10 there though). Wonder if there's a pattern to the sites it's going after? |

Continuing with the Ghosts N Goblins stuff I mentioned some time back, if you beat level 6 with the wrong weapon, it tells you "THIS WEAPON HAS NOT EFFECT. TRY AGAIN!!! GET A (picture of Shield here)"

As already mentioned elsewhere, I'm waiting for a TV tuner for my comp for Christmas. Then you'll all get to see the glory of my 47-minute Zelda II run.

Even worse, I heard that the 4-8 hour battery life was basically the PSP just sitting there, IE not accessing the disc or anything like that. Meaning the practical battery life is even shorter.

The original Link's Awakening, however, was not (It came out after ALttP). And isn't this one of those pointless questions, because everyone now has pretty much their own theory on how the timeline goes? I'm confident that Adventure of Link followed Legend of Zelda in both. Beyond that, I don't know, so I guess I have to hope that and only that is the answer. |

I would disagree about the second quest not being harder than the first, but I haven't played the original in awhile. Oddly, I was never a big fan of Zelda besides Zelda II (Which I apparently DON'T own the record for Fastest New Game + completion on...oh well, I'll still let everyone see the video) and Link to the Past. I should really give OoT another shot though. |

No, it wasn't a video, I chanced to looked at someone's record page on Twin Galaxies and saw they had a time of something like 44:50. Ah. It's actually 44:40. Beatable, but not easily. How much stock you put into this depends on how much you trust TG (Especially since the normal NES referee didn't enter this particular score. O.o). I do know that name from other Zelda games, though, and the time is definitely humanly possible (If not easy to obtain). As a random aside, any savestate Zelda II videos tend to use the Japanese version (Because Famtasia, for awhile the NES emu of choice for save-state runs, crashed when you tried to use elevators in the US version), which has completely different routes (Due to the fact that you have to stab items in order to pick them up in the Japanese one; providing my palace routes in the US version are optimal, you should ALWAYS be going through the doors to the items as a Fairy). As another random aside, the route I'd use to beat 44:40, in video form, would paradoxically fall under the category of "More impressive, but ultimately less entertaining". |

Feel free to track down the ROM and play it yourself, Kitten Yiffer, but there are definitely only three keys in Parapa Palace (Which is palace one). FUN FACT: You actually don't need to collect ANY of the keys to get through the Palace, thanks to the fact that Fairy goes through doors and you can skip and Candle and still beat the game. Obviously, this is much easier to pull off in a New Game + game (As it is possible, but VERY difficult, to get through Death Mountain in the dark in an ordinary New Game file). |

It isn't even so much that I hate the method...I did it myself several times in seeing if a sub-45-minute game was possible. Indeed, the route itself requires a knowledge of the game far beyond the casual player. The problem is that certain points will end up being "impressive" in the same way that the old tool-assisted Dragon Warrior videos were impressive (Attacking the Dragonlord for 1 point of damage ad nauseum)...I simply don't think it would be as entertaining to watch. Note that you can probably figure out what it is I'd be doing if you know the game. Suffice to say that not counting magic/life containers or 1-ups, I grab a total of ONE unnecessary item through the game. |

Have a question, not sure how to phrase it.... is the "shore" somehow different on the southeastern side? |

Heh. Let the record show that for one brief, shining moment, I was in first place at 1:20AM, EST, on 12/23/04. With that, I'm off to bed. |

I actually very rarely use zippered pants. On the rare occasions when I do, though, I just undo everything, then kind of peek it out from the top of my underwear. |

Originally posted by NSNick Not quite that simple, because my understanding is that ALL companies do this (Eat the extra cost of hardware and make the cost up on software sales). So they're probably already eating these costs with whatever price point they set; it's not practical to say "They can lower the price more than they ordinarily would". Incidentally, this is mainly why the 3DO was outrageously priced back in the day--they tried to buck this model by licensing the hardware production out to various companies. The problem, obviously, was these companies couldn't make back costs off of the software, so they had to set a price point such that they wouldn't lose massive amounts of money per console (Somewhere around $700). |
