I definitely have the same problem (Ambition far exceeding inclination). I can't even count the number of times I've had ideas for songs or the like and just never finished them. Your situation seems a little different, but the concept is the same. All I can really say is that you're not alone in this regard.

Correct. But nowhere does it say you have to actually beat the dungeon (I'm doing something similar in the Dark World on this playthrough to basically make the early bosses crap themselves when I go after them with the Golden Sword and Blue Mail, and maybe I'll throw the Mirror Shield in there too for the hell of it.). Although maybe there's something I'm missing here.

Basically, I got the Hammer and Hookshot from the first two dungeons, and left. Next will be going to Blind's Hideout, getting the Titan's Mitt, leaving, doing everything I need to get the Tempered Sword. Go into the third dungeon, and actually beat that one because my strategy consists of "Let Golden Bee go house on Mothula". Beat dungeons five and six at this point, get Super Bomb, use it to get Golden Sword and Silver Arrows. Then go back and pound the ever-loving crap out of the bosses I let live earlier (After getting the Mirror Shield from Turtle Rock, if I feel like it).

Strangely, my main problem with minimalist Trinexx was hitting him with the stupid rods. Unless, again, I'm missing something and you can skip that step, I always found myself running out of magic and having to mirror out and start over.

I too use the site Hyperhacker mentioned, which generally works well except for certain games which are, for some reason, IDSA protected (This is what Karadur mentioned). O.o.

In that case, I just note that this thing I'm using to make this post isn't new... *cough hack wheeze choke*

I beat the third dungeon before the second on the SNES version to see if I could get the Master Sword early. I knew things didn't look good when it told me "Go for the last [pendant]!", and sure enough, the game wasn't fooled. Ah well.

Karadur: As far as the white cells go, yes and no. While it's true that certain additional precautions have to be taken--mainly in regards to eating and drinking; you can't eat out or drink tap water when your white count is that low (The former because you can't be sure that restaurant employees are doing what they're supposed to be doing in terms of hygiene whilst handling food, the latter I presume because tap water just isn't very clean)--but it's not like I was constantly sterilizing the hotel room while walking around in a germ-proof bubble or anything. If nothing else, oncologists have this down to, well, a science, where they can pretty much predict when and how far your counts will crash from day to day.

DarkSlaya: Believe me, there were days I wanted to give up, particularly early on. Someone here (I think it was here) posted earlier about how I handled this with such dignity...it wasn't so much that I had dignity as I chose to not make my undignified moments--and I think all cancer patients have these--public.

Sabishii, Dark Vampriel and Jarukoth: Thanks for the well wishes...I'm definitely glad to be home and for the most part done with this thing.

Okay, so you get more experience. Do any of the other curves change at all (IE does the Monk still start going house on stuff at level 10)?

I was surprised myself. Mainly because the last time reports went out saying "This is the week Jennings loses", well, as I told my mom that week, "Well, it's Friday, and he's up by about $35000 going into Final Jeopardy..."

Suffice to say he did not blow that lead.

The Rabbit Joint (NOT System of a Down!)- "The Legend of Zelda".

Rather silly little cover of the Legend of Zelda overworld theme. The Rabbit Joint added some lyrics which, as mentioned, are less than poetic. My favorite verse is probably:

Now Link
Fill up your hearts
So you can SHOOT!
Your sword with po-wer,
And when you're feeling all down,
The fairy will come around,
So you'll be brave,
And not a sissy coward.

I thought something similar about two years ago.

Around Thanksgiving of this year, however, I actually stopped to consider a rather scary fact. In July, when we thought my cancer was viral bronchitis (Long story short, my only symptom was a dry cough), after it didn't get better, my mom visited her doctor (Who is also my doctor), and he suggested I go in the next day for a follow-up. Basically, if this doesn't happen, I'm probably dead right now.

Not that I fear death itself, but the process of dying is something I've always been put off by. Basically, I'd rather have it be quick and painless have drawn out and slowly deteriorating.

Apparently in the Dark World,it IS possible to simply skip several of the bosses altogether. Note that I don't know if they fixed this in the GBA version.

EDIT: Damn, I was going to make #1000 in the W00t I'm home thread. Oh well.

Sepho: Well, the main thing I didn't like was the vomitting thing. As far as the rest of the side effects, I didn't care so much about losing my hair. You can actually see in the Acmlm photo album a picture of me with my hair about as thin as it got before I shaved it off (Contrary to popular belief, chemo usually DOESN'T leave you completely bald). Before that, I wore my hair really short anyway (And actually completely shaved it off once), so that wasn't a big deal. Probably the most annoying part of it was I lost hair pretty much everywhere ( ), including my eyebrows and eyelashes. The loss of eyelashes in particular make my eyes feel weird when I close and open them, and I also seem to tear up more now.

The drugs themselves didn't really "hurt", per se. What did suck was my first time in the hospital (10 days), before they put a portacath in me (I basically have a bump in my chest now. What it is is a device where, if they need to draw blood or put drugs or fluid into me, they basically do it through my chest instead of a vein in my arm. It sounds painful, but in the long run is much healthier for my body), I was constantly being poked and prodded with various needles. By the time I finally got out, my stomach was completely black and blue because I had been needled so many times (If I remember right, they were monitoring my insulin, and it was pretty much always not normal, though I can't remember in which direction. So they gave me that particular shot through my stomach).

Beyond the first treatment, I pretty much slept for the five day spans I was getting treatment. Or tried to; one of the worst parts was the "feeling tired and not being able to sleep during the day" part..probably even worse than being hungry and not being able to eat. Oh yeah, and the first time in the hospital I had weird semi-dreams (I was in that weird state where you're not "awake" yet not quite entirely asleep either) because they pumped me full of steroids (I R BARRY BONDS LOLZ!!!).

So yeah, that's my experience.

Thanks for the well wishes Kiwi. Hmm. 9 more days until 200, I think I have a pretty good idea for a custom title.

Maybe.

If I'm reading correctly, you only have to complete dungeons five, six and seven (I presume five and six are so you can get the Super Bomb). I haven't yet tried this on either my SNES or GBA version.

Supposedly, my cousin effectively lost 40+ hours of work in DK64 when he collected a Golden Banana and didn't get credit for it. The game showed it as being collected, but didn't count it. He was not pleased.

Personally, there are three in Battletoads that stand out: Sometimes in level 8, your Battletoad will attempt to make the final jump to Robo-Manus early. The result is that the screen scrolls up, Robo-Manus appears...and your Battletoad gets stuck off the screen, continually losing lives until Game Over. It seems to be more likely to happen if you don't precisely navigate the final "gauntlet" of jumps leading to Robo-Manus (Because if you jump anywhere in the vicinity of the gaps in the platforms, even if you don't make it through, the game scrolls up slightly).

An even worse one is in level 10. If the third Scuzz is just above you on the electrified platform when you boot the last bomb, he simply won't fall down, and you'll be stuck and have to start the game over. Not a lot of fun.

And then there's the now infamous "Player 2's Clinger Winger doesn't move" glitch in level 11, which makes it literally impossible to go through the game from start to finish with 2 players.

So yeah, Rare is about as good as Rockstar when it comes to bug testing.
