Yeah, the GB version is even more nuts than the NES version. It was also the last BT game with any effort put into it. There was supposedly 9 levels, I got to...either 7 or 8 (It was the one where you had to rocket up the screen before time ran out). |

No, most of GameFAQs was like "d00d wtf is up with teh KIDD13 ST0ry it iz not D33P or 5ymb0LIC liek teh original1!1!1!" These people, of course, forget the fact that the original FFT was translated into a language that I suppose VAGUELY resembles English ("Blame yourself or god.", the mess that was the help dude, etc.) |

Yet other than learning about SNES assembler language, I don't really see the value of a CT hack. |
Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but RPGs moreso than any other genre have a variety of Game Makers that you can use to make your own RPG from scratch, some of them free, some not. Anything you'd want to hack in, you could do just as easily from scratch with one of these tools, I would think.

In a toss-up between Beam Sword and Home-Run Bat, I went with the Beam Sword. It's a little faster, and has a little better range that to me makes up for the potential one-shot kill of the Bat. |

Just stay away from their message boards. The inidividual game ones, particularly for current systems, tend to be rather terrible. |
And looking through an old issue of Nintendo Power, I remembered how to do the lost-levels 1-up trick. There was a section in level 1-1 that looked apprixmately like this: UBBBBB U U U (edited by Emptyeye on 07-05-04 01:46 PM)

Up to 12th place with me? Wow, that's as high as I'm ever gonna rank. |
So now I'm killing time before an online Limit Hold 'Em tourney...woo.

Random fun fact: Supposedly, the "rape" fantasy is the most popular sexual fantasy in the United States. I put "rape" in quotation marks because my redimentary-at-best research on this indicates that the fantasy is generally something closer to "Someone who you love and who loves you not stopping when you tell them to." (Which, most times, is nothing like actually rape, which is rather violent and scary) |

I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually. ME/98 only I believe. |
And the full versions require assloads of RAM (256MB minimum, which is quite a bit I think). I personally use Cakewalk SONAR which I...um, acquired from my cousin for Christmas one year. He, in turn...acquired it from his friend. It works well enough for me.

I realize there's probably not much you can do about it, but my main problem with the water in the sixth screenshot is that it looks like it's a part of the background, as opposed to the foreground. |
Still, it's lookin nice so far.

It actually goes back before Doom, or even before Wolfenstein 3-D, although I can't remember the name of the game (Catacombs of Something I think it was). |
Doom is generally the one credited with exploding the genre onto the mainstream, however. And X-Box means me no play.

Take a look around Musician's Friend. They have a variety of synths, both analog and digital. |

Yeah, I'm gonna abstain from voting myself. Haven;t been around enough, particularly lately, to do much as far as observation. |

In spite of the fact that I'll have no use for SPD or SPA for, like, ever, I'll try a Mage again. |

If you're lucky, the color variables will be conveniently named something like "buttoncolor" or something along those lines. |
Of course, I've never actually seen the board code, so I'm basically talking out of my ass here. Alternately, I suppose you could search for "white", "black", "#000000" or "#FFFFFF" (The latter two being the hex values for black and white, respectively). (restricted) |

Went to work, talked to a girl that it turns out is the older sister of someone I took karate with a long time ago. |
