While I don't know if older games are necessarily better than newer ones, I'll point out that I think the last "new" game I beat was Circle of the Moon back in 2001, and I have a bunch of games I've played to the end and never actually beaten that I perhaps should. (Final Fantasy IX and X-2 are on this list).

Additionally: I think Ghosts N' Goblins on the NES has to hold the record for ratio of incorrect-to-total text. It's got about 20 words in total, and manages to mess most of them up.

I find it hilarious, actually. In April, people up at Franklin Pierce College (Where I go) were all "OMG YANKEES R GAY SOXXX ARE SO MUCH BETTER" when the Sox swept the Yankees...(NOTE: the rivaliry between Red Sox fans and Yankees fans there is strong enough that the college left a message after Game one of last year's ALCS saying basically "Please don't riot after the games.")

...funny how two months later things are back to their normal hierarchy.

And I'm actually pulling for the Texas Rangers this season, just because it would make A-Rod feel like a complete jackass if they won everything, particularly with his "I'm at the point in my career where I want to win championships" comment before the start of the season.

It wasn't that hard, although that was due to the fact that 1. You could save on every level as opposed to every world, and 2. There was a very easy way to get nigh infinite lives early in the game, as memory serves.

As I said, I wasn't sure if it was the exact copies of the files.

My only other guess would be perhaps they have additional software they're not telling you about. Besides that, I'm stumped.

Life is so much easier being done with GameFAQs...

By the way, was there a near-mutiny over those damn autoplaying MP3.com ads? Because to me, that's just one more in a series of "Small change, don't worry about it" that CJayC promised wouldn't be taking place when CNet bought the site a year ago.

I dunno what browser you use, but they DEFINITELY autoplay in my IE running Windows ME. One restarted three times even after I clicked Audio Off.

I'm talking about the frontpage ones.

And as I've said more than once, GameFAQs did more than enough to make itself look bad with the activities associated with the Gamespot merger. It doesn't need my help for that.

It's possible, though I'd like to see (at the very least) a screenshot of where it supposedly appears in MTPO, because I don't remember it being in there at all.

EDIT: And besides, if I really want to be technical (And I apparently do), Pro Wrestling came out first.

I got to Tyson...don't remember if I ever actually beat him, though I think I did.

Nighthawk: You don't have to worry about it (Although the collections in Europe are a bit different). It affected FF Chronicles, the North American version. The Final Fantasy IV disc had some troubles loading on PSONes (Though CJayC of GameFAQs had two copies fail to load on ANY PS system).

Still not as funny as the rerelease of FFTactics, where they put the wrong region encoding on the disc, causing the first shipment of North American discs to simply not boot. At all. On any system.

I think I'm actually starting to cross 1-up tricks in my head, but it was similar to a point in level 3-7 of Mario 3 where you bounced a Koopa shell back and forth between two blocks, and somehow (I forget exactly how) made enemies fall into that space.

As I recall, it was the entire shipment, although I don't think the shipment itself was all that big. I could be wrong though.
