Dropping in quite late to ask if I'm the only one here skeptical that JR is actually gone? They've done this, as a angle, more than once. I remain unconvinced to this point. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Yeah, I AAed Dream a Dream for him (This was new for me), as well as Aing In the Navy (This was not...is it strange that where I break my combos isn't usually in the galloping sections, but in the "we want you!" part?). Yeah. |

Wow. |
In the world of DDR, few things are more demoralizing than failing a 9-foot song on the LAST FUCKING STEP (1). *sigh* (1)- Given the way the "life" system of DDR works, as well as the fact that I definitely hit the last step (My roomie was here and watching me play, and said as much), I'm going to presume that my actual Point of FKitten Yiffer was slightly before the actual final step of the song. This does little to lessen my disappointment, though, and I consider it a technicality. On the plus side, I seem to be getting better at turning my body, which is definitely a plus. I guess the next big thing is getting comfortable with "circle" steps (You know, up-right-down-left in quick succession as an example).

So, anyone have any tips/songs/whatever for helping go from jump to jump quickly? Near the end of Maxx Unlimited Standard is a prime example of what I mean. |
ALSO: Woo, passing more 9-footers...Tsugaru and Breakdown (BARELY, to the point that I think it was karma making up for my last-step fKitten Yiffer of Exotic Ethnic yesterday).

*Emptyeye asks himself, "How should I prepare to face this unknown menace? Should I jump off the highest building in the world? Should I lie down in the grass and let lawn mowers run me over?...maybe go to Africa and get trampled by elephants?" |
he decides to spare himself the pain of those things, and simply walks to square 6 instead*

Hiryuu is correct, though there's a non-speed mix in MAX2 for PS2, and I believe the speed mix is in Extreme (Though I don't know for sure, not owning it). |
I should note that actually owning and playing the console games every day, I have somewhat of an advantage in that department. Actually getting advanced concepts ((&*^*&^*&^ spins *(&(&*()&*() down to a point that I can do them confidently (As opposed to fumbling my way through those sections without using the correct technique) will probably take awhile, though. Errm, so...Mario Mix. Anyone have it/play it yet? Just curious.

So does it not use the typical "foot" difficulty level or what? I'm a bit confused. |
As mentioned above, right now I'm at the "pass [most] 9-foot songs through sheer force of will" phase. I guess the next step would be passing the remainder of the 9s I can't do just yet, and then work on actually properly doing turns/spins/what-have-you (Though I did get an A on My Summer Love on DDRMAX for PS2, but this had none of those things in it) so I can truly pwn said 9-footers. Stupid question, but will there be a option to acquire just the game with no pad? As I see it, I may be able to save a bit of money if I decide to pick it up by getting a game and some sort of PS2/GC converter, or something.

Now that I think about it, being "easier" than other DDR mixes might not be a bad thing for Mario Mix. I hate to sound like your typical "LOLZ KIDDY NINTENDOZE!!1!1!" Internet pundit, but I do have a feeling that the audience they're going for here may not necessarily be the hardcore DDR audience (I don't know that I'd consider myself "hardcore" by any means, but my feelings are that I already have two games and two pads for PS2..do I REALLY need yet ANOTHER game AND mat for another system?). |
I figure you'll see 3rd-party mats before too long, but unless there are plans for more DDR GCN games (Or games of that ilk), I'm not sure it'd be worth Nintendo's while to sell them seperately from the game itself.

Here's a rebuttal article, by the way. The site is run by TSA--you know, the guy who did the OoT speed runs (And some others)? I'd say he has as much credibility as anyone else on the Internet in regards to this. |
Not exactly sure what the story on Error is, though I've heard that it IS simply just his given name, and it DOES appear in the Japanese version as well. I of course have no way to prove this. (restricted) | (restricted) |

Yeah, general sentiment seems to be that Jarrett was never really supposed to drop the title in the first place, but they moved stuff around, wanted to send the fans home happy, etc. |

So. Been doing some music stuff lately. I'm excited about it for the first time in awhile. |

Which dungeon was that in, anyway? I suppose I could play to that point in the GBA version and see if it makes any more sense, since they did clean up the translation for that port. |
