It'd take a hell of a lot of maths and even more processing power to completley change your voice, besides its easyer for you to do that. Its called your vocal cords, and try playing around with differnet female sounding (note: NOT falsetto) voices. Much easyer!

I'm shit scared of getting on a bicycle after my accident two years ago:

I was riding along, at about 10-15 mph, not that fast, and I was stood up, to get some speed going. My chain came off, and i shot forwards over the handlebar, landed headfirst on the tarmac, had a helmet on, but it was my forehead. It fractured my skull slightly

I'm still missing two days of my life in terms of memory loss, and have a cool ass scar just below my hairline. Can't ride a bike tho. Won't go near one!

Liquid Pi, yeah. I got in accidents all the time. Having a full set of pads usually help, but... Your CHAIN came off? *shudders* Man... Let me see if I can get this right... You hear a crack, and a jam. Your look down, your chain's not there. You panic and try to stop but that doesn't work because there's no chain there. In your panic, you press the brake on full. This stops the bike, but not you, and then you come out and land on the ground below head-first. You feel a horrible pain, then nothing, then suddenly you're in the hospital. Am I right?

NSNick is right, the chain came off whislt my right leg was on the downstroke, so that force had to go somewhere, unfortunately it sent me forewards, apparently!

All that info was taken from witness statements provided to me by the police! I don't remember about an hour before hand it.

Its a photo diary of a trip through the "Dead Zone" around Chernobyl. Its a really good read, but its haunted me quite a bit - as I never knew what really happened, all through my life its just been a "nuclear meltdown" to me, i didn't know the full implications about it.

I hope you can enjoy this and be as enlightened about it as much as I have been, and spare a moment to think about those poor souls who have lost their lives to the disaster.

Well, it just goes to show that you never can tell

The main thing that hit me was it was the day after my first birthday, and since knowing that (about 4 years ago) it always puts a dampener on my birthday celebrations

I don't understand how you CAN like all that poppy and cheesy stuff elmo! (note, respecting your opinion, just curious as to how you can like it!) From a musicians standpoint its killing what used to be the MUSIC industry, with made-to-measure stars and artists, making it all the harder for aspiring muso's to break into the industry!

Trance (and i tried so hard to listen to it!) is the most boring music I'v ever heard, and I'm doing a degree recordingm so I need to listen to all and every type of music! Its so repetative. Don't even get me started on the filth that populates the top 40!

I honestly get angry when I see the shallowness of the general public, rushing to meet their new "idol" who in 10 minutes will be dumped for the next ponce with flashy clothes and an even odder hairstyle.

Call me a music snob if you will, but I honestly can't deem "pop" and all its subcultures "music"

You'll call me closed minded, but I'm not. I will give anything a good listen, and if I like it, being a sufferer of Obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to music, will endeavour to get every album, every side project and every bit of info i can! I'd list my CD collection, but I havenae the time to write out over 1000 CDs!

You're looking at the principal percussionist (the lucky one who got to sit behind the kit!) for 5 years at high school, through these 3 years at college and currently principle percussionist at Clitheroe Town Band!

Anyone who says concert wind band music sucks will die!

I know the secret of making flamethrowers from beer cans. And to stand downwind when using said flamethrowers. Lost an eyebrow + part of my fringe.

Thats because it IS hanged when referring to criminals being hanged, and hung when its something like washing. Thats where the confusion comes from

My favourite subjects are Electronical Engineering and Music Technology (seen as the two quite often mix)

The most common way of removing vocals is just to take out the centre part of the stereo field, as this is where vocals are 80% of the time mixed (this is how goldwave does it I think, but there will still be some vocal leakage in the L and R portions of the stereo field).

The only way to remove vocal parts completely is by phase cancelation. If you can get hold of JUST the vocal line (I don't know how, maybe singing it will work) and reverse its phase, you can then superimpose it over the original track removing the vocal parts. All that can be done in goldwave or any other half decent audio editor.

Posted on 06-15-04 04:02 AM, in whats with these bands that screw you over? Link
As someone who semi works in the industy let me correct you....... With the advent of cheap(ish) recording equipment, PCs and many DIY'ers, many (with more following) bands now adays (and I'm talking real bands, not shitty pop-fuckers) are recording the songs themselves in their own homes, not bothering with a decent studio and then releasing the material through their own label/record company.

The record companys "screw you over" because they are losing money, fast, and want to keep fans, so they release new "special edition" shit to keep everyone saited and their wallets full.

Just to point out, mp3's have very little to do with the decline in the industies sales, its shit "popular" generic sounding music that is causing it. No one wants to buy it. Period.

Oniblade....
why cant they just make it an ep out of the new songs?
Because that costs too much in marketing and the record companies don't want to spend money, its cheaper to just re-release the album with a coupla extra tracks on.

Kasumi
It's an evil, biased market. It plays straight into the hands of corperate record companies, and honest artists are discriminated against.

To be fair, that used to be the case, but its becoming less and less now with my above argument.

The record companies are a dying breed, anyone can make an album on their computer if they have the know-how and a bit of spare cash. I could (and can) you could.

Just to set the record straight, I'm not defending the record companies because I've worked with them before and nearly always they are complete assholes who want nothing more than a fast dollar. I'm just correcting peoples misconception, theres no conspiricy and your favourite bands don't do it on purpose, they have no say about how their material is released.

Oh yeah, and I'm not using Internet Explorer anymore. It's way too easy to mess around with your operating system or browser through Internet Explorer.

Ok then, you just run adaware/spybot search and destroy.

I'm not stupid enough to click next/accept/ok when these unknown windows pop up, but that doesn't necessarily protect you. Even with a different browser.
