| well, if you want to spell check file names you could try the following (Assuming windows): 1) Start->Run and type in "cmd" 2) change folders until you are where all your files are 3) dir > C:\files.txt 4) Go to My Computer->C: and there should be a files.txt file there 5) open files.txt in some application that can spell check As for batch renaming, try this: Batch File Utility I have a better one but I'm not sure where I got it from... |

1. A humming noise...sounds like the power supply is ready to go. Either that or your case is vibrating. When you try to dampen the side of the case, does the sound go away? If so, then it is the case. Otherwise, I'd say the power supply because that is what happened to my dad's power supply shortly before it kicked the bucket |
2. As for randomly access the floppy drive, do you have a virusscanner? 3. For Mandrake help, um...i can't help you. Maybe a mandrake linux help forum might help you.

something is faulty on the motherboard. I have similar problems to you in that my computer refuses to cold boot (you turn it on after it has been off for several hours). |
for me, what I do is turn on the computer, and let it sit for say 5, 10 minutes at the password screen (i set a password on my computer), restart and proceed. as for resolving it, you can try cleaning the dust out of the computer, investigate the power connection between your power supply and motherboard, and check to see if the CPU is seated cleanly in the CPU seat.

or, maybe it has to do with the AGP interface with the computer because there are times I turn on my computer but the screen just doesn't respond. But then again, putting in a PCI video card didn't fix the problem either so. I believe it is BIOS/Power Supply related at this point. |

homework is not bad as long as it is something fun to do, like program problem solving and stuff (at least for me). If it is something tedious or stupid, then of course I don't like it. |

, i guess i better get the new one when I'm bored...anyways, IE dominates the market but as the general population gets more education, they'll defect to other browsers. Mozilla is nice for when you don't want to open a new window, especially if you are using an internet browser remotely--or well through a terminal. But i guess not many of us are in that position...

maybe to save you trouble, you should be using ePSXe as it is the best all around emulator there is. Not unless you are using a Mac, then flarestorm (i think that is the name) is the one you should be using. |
