It is going to be a while before .NET is the main thing offered my microsoft. They are gradually phasing out their older Visual Studio series. It will be a while before you have to use .NET if you want to develop via Microsoft, but that is from the corporate point of view.

But as an amateur programmer, nothing says you have to use .NET nor do you have to use Java, or C, or VB. As long as the language does what you want it to do, who cares.

Also, C# isn't a only .NET thing. There are C# compilers that will compile into binary executables that do not depend on the runtimes. However, they do not get the adequate testing that Microsoft or other corporations do and thus your code might be correct but the compiler is at fault.

the same way about going to live in sweden, england, or any other place. Unless you live there for a while, you don't have the same good feel. There are a lot of things about places you aren't going to find on paper, such as the environment, the culture, etc.

Based on numbers, yeah, Sweden looks like a better place to live. But if you can't fit into the culture, can't be yourself, can't sustain yourself on your own. Maybe you are better off not have moved there in the first place.

I for one would like to live in Japan for the entertainment and the type of culture they have their. However, being able to live there and be accepted like everyone else is a different story. After all, there are protocols and traditions you need to learn and are assumed you know (or don't know). So...yeah, be careful of what you wish for...

I'd like proportional representation too. Seems a lot more people would like government or be happier about the elections than they would be. However, it isn't going to ever happen in the U.S. unless some miracle happens.

I forgot what book I read but the U.S. is the only federal government of its kind in the world. I found it surprising that if the U.S. structure government is so great, people would copy it but nope, no one has...

more fun is how houston has crawled it's way back to be in a position to win the NL wild card. After the all-star break, you wouldn't have thought this would have happened...

you are working with the WindowsAPI and that is written in what language? C? with C, if it looks like data, it will use it. I'm in a project that uses a C++ DLL from a VB DLL. I can define the available C++ functions anyway I want in C++ and it will run. Whether it runs correctly is a different story.

In short, when it comes to running C stuff from other language, if it is in memory and in a valid area, anything goes.

okay...if that is the case...maybe it was that we are the only ones who has the electoral college... but i know there is something about U.S. government structure not shared anywhere else in the federal system of government anyways

the API isn't doing error checking and VB can't do much in terms of error checking for C code because the best it can do is to make sure your parameters pass the type checking for the function call. Whether the values are valid values to use in the API call is a different story.

So, why don't you call MouseMove with values you know should work in that if expression. If that works, then you know the values you are passing it that are bad, not the API function itself.

There are some cards that won't go louder. I have a sound card on my old p2-400 running windows XP and the volume can barely be heard without external volume magnification. so, if he wants headphones to be louder, unless the headphones can magnify the volume on his own...he is out of luck.

In the Video menu, you must first select "Full Processing Mode". Then, in the video menu, select Compression. A dialog box "Select Video Compression" will pop up. Choose the codec you want to encode the movie into. If you select DivX Code, then when you click configure, you will be able to set the bitrate of the video. Lowering of that value lowers the quality of the video.

well, can you find out what library you are missing? that project has some dependencies the VB compiler can find or something like that.

what you want would be to modify the DOM of the webpage. Try doing some research on dynamically changing the DOM (Document Object Model) of a webpage.

well, if you know that option is on, there should be a way to disable it.

I do not know VB that well. Dependency errors are typically because you don't have the correct DLLs enabled but I do not think that is the case.

Maybe someone with more VB knowledge will come by and respond.
