Posted on 06-27-04 09:17 PM, in A List of Programming Languages used for Video Game Programming.. Link
A few things...

1. There is only C, C++, and C#... If I read your resume and you had "C++ (Including VC++, .net and C)", I would write you off in an instant because you don't know what .NET is in relation to C++ (same things goes with .NET and it's relation to VB).

2. Assembly--be more specific. There are tons of instruction sets out there and I highly doubt you know them all. So, instead of saying assembly, say what instruction sets you know or say one you are good at and add "and others"

3. APIs, most of them are graphics related but not all of them are (Win32 comes to mind). OpenGL and DirectX are the most used APIs and Java2D is one exclusively for Java. So if you know Java, it will look good if you can use Java2D.

4. I would say BlitzBasic and company are languages rather than engines because it seems they give you the same type of abstraction that VB does. You could put them in an exclusive category of "game exclusive programming languages"

Okay part of the way, I thought you were making a resume so, some of this stuff was written with that in mind. However, your website is sorta like a resume. If people see something that appears wrong, they will write off your website so it would be good to be accurate with your presentation.

One thing I would like to drive into you, there is a difference between a language and an IDE:

C, C++, C# are all languages, Visual Studio is NOT.
C, C++, C# are NOT IDEs, Visual Studio is.

slap in the face if I didn't give an explanation...i guess i didn't think things a little through..oh well...

anyways, FYI for anyone reading this thread: this board does not tolerate any piracy of professional grade software whatsoever publically. if you are looking for such software, you are looking in the wrong place.

however, wouldn't you have to program the thing, otherwise, this robot would continually run in a straight line without doing anything special

anyways, interesting thought...reminds me of the robot I built for a class that had obstacle avoidance...

nope, anything divided by 0 is undefined--that is currently the concensus among leading mathematicians. In addition, any basic mathematical operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) on infinity still infinity.

when i was young, i remember getting a sun burn when i was 3...and boy did it suck. I didn't get another one until 5th grade...but that was because we spent all day at a pool as an end of the year activity. Since, then I've nenver got a sun burn since i don't spend that much time out in the sun in terms of doing activities. But then again, I have dark brown skin to begin with since my ethnicity comes from a tropical area.

i wonder how good this version is compared to the professional grade version of the software. I guess someone will have to download this and see... any VB programmers out there? if not VB, how about C++ since there is C++ express as well...

well...the compiler was free, not the IDE...so I guess it is about time microsoft released a free IDE...

hmm...i see where you are getting at...

you are supposed to be missing some part of the borders around a table cell. by default, if you set the border of a table to be more than 0, then all four sides of the cell will have a border. however, using those special settings, you can only have one part of the cell have a visible border.

as for frames, they are using the same work for two different things. I think that is where you are confused. You are accustomed to HTML frame in which can be seen here: http://www.geocities.com/neotransotaku/ and you see a table frame, which is nothing more than a border.

can you provide examples of what you would like to do from someone's layout?

By the way, please use the word "table" instead of a "frame" because the HTML tag you would use is table, not frame.

As for certain colors, you should find a website that gives you a description of what properties a table can have. However, I find the HTML Reference Library is a good help file that can give you information about all properties of a table and all the other HTML tags. However, it is hard to find on the internet so I'm not sure if I can find it for you.

i'm not sure what is going on...maybe there are color issues in the way you have installed photoshop. You could try reinstalling photoshop again and when it asks you about setting color, just leave it the way it is.

Otherwise, this is the first case i've seen of such a problem.

I believe HP Officejet comes with software that allows you to scan, don't you have that installed?

Also, I believe photoshop has an image import option under the file menu. I'm not sure what the exact name it is but there should be something in the file menu that allows photoshop to record input from a scanner.
