| have you checked to see if the recording properities is set to use Line in? You can check it by going to Volume Control, go into Options->Properties, select Recording. Then verify that line in is selected as where you want recording to come from. | |||

| because HDs need to know whether they are by themselves or if they have a companion. If the have a companion, the HD needs to know whether it is master or slave. The BIOS can detect it if you have set the HD to be cable select (which is also a jumper option) | |||

| yup...hopefully you put the jumper in the right place with the correct orientation (the jumper should be vertically oriented on the HD. Just try them one by one until you get some response. If you don't know already, there are three states the HD can be in: Master, Slave, Cable Select. Sometimes, if the drive it by itself, then you want to use the Master or Cable Select states. |

| Probably this is the case but, you hear the modem sounds through the modem speaker and not the speakers of your computer right? My dad has a modem that has it's sound ported through the sound card. So, muting the modem in both volume control and modem properties is useless for me. | |||

| as long as you make the OS "think" IE is still there, then it will continue to function--which is the only reason why IE can be removed. The same probably goes for other integrated stuff in the OS. RME--will people even know what is the difference? I think the word reduce will make people think it isn't as strong as the the original and thus continue to buy the original... |
