Very n00bish question here, but hey, this place is FOR n00bs right? Anyway, I was wondering where exactly you type these codes, particularly the Chelsea code, upon opening Lunar Magic? To be honest I'm not hugely familiar with the program yet (concentrating on level design and simple GFX modifications really) and I haven't seen any "secret code" type bit.

Also, if this isn't included in the Chelsea additions, I was wondering how I would go about editing the writing on the title screen, you know, the "Super Mario World" bit?

Thanks muchly y'all!!

I tend to just collect the ones that I can quickly decide how to collect, if you understand me. The only things I REALLY go out of my way for are secret paths

I agree that hard is not necassarily fun. If I start playing a hack where I have to sacrifice lives just to learn the wrong route and remember where that was, I'll stop playing it immediately. That just wastes time.

I think a good thing to do is lure the player into a sense of familiarity. Give them three long, straight runs with exactly the same jump at the end each time, and on the fourth time, make it a small jump followed by another small jump, so they end up jumping too far, unless they react quickly! Then, their survival depends on skill, instead of luck, or having learnt the stage!

Well now, why would Big Boo Boss sprite go crazy when ... used? I had him down a pipe in a small room, and when he appears on screen, old Mario disappears!! And when he is defeated (which is pretty difficult seeing as Mario has disappeared by that point) Mario appears again!

Is the sprite just unusable? Thanks

Hmm... slightly off topic (sorry don't have the answers but looks like the mighty Fu's done a pretty good job anyway ) but how would I go about learning ASM stuff? Pretty tricky yeah?

I would MUCH rather play a cleverly laid out level than a boring, impossible one with the ultimate exGFX. So if anyone out there has a hack purely about level design and is wondering "will anyone want to play this?", bring it to me, 'cos I'll happily oblige

BTW, exGFX is nice provided the level design's had some attention too

I sure hope the level design in this hack is as good as the GFX!! If it is then I wanna play it right now!

I'd say well done about the GFX, but I din't really know how much is done by you, but I love the kind of blurry effect (can't think of a better word), so well done indeed!

Hey buddy hurry up with that demo, eh? I really like the look of it actually.

Tell me though, is this gonna be one of those STEEYOOPID "impossible on world 1" hacks? I certainly hope not!

And one thing about the title screen, could you possibly make the wooden border just a bit lighter? It dims the nice bright title screen.

Good work though, as I said, I would like to play it

Well now I feel like a... ... clown.

Lookin' great! Though I'm still not convinced about that crazy background, but hey! So does this mean you're about to release a demo?

Amazing is all I can say. I would also like to see a slightly more gradual move into the harder difficulty, but that's the only slight grudge. Luigi's jump animation is just great I've only just taken out the first castle, mind you, so I haven't seen too much of the game.

Maybe if some kind soul would like to do the honours of translating the Japanese they could post it on here somewhere? I'd try, but I can only read katakana, which isn't much use, plainly.

Basically, the hack is the awesomest!

Sorry Playstation3, I can't help your question, but did you say you're interested in ASM? I also would like to learn a thing or two about it (not an easy job, I'm well aware ), so if you're totally n00b like me, would you like to inform me of any helpful guides etc. you find, since I'm having trouble finding any absolute thickie's guide type things Obviously the limited resources I do have I would happily show you. Cool?

Edit: That's pretty random ain't it. Heh, sorry bout that

I have a n00b question if you guys don't mind. I've downloaded an ExGFX set (namely KT15X's castle- thanks, I'll be sure to credit you with much worshipness ). I have inserted the ExGFX and placed it on a suitable map16 page. However the old GFX of SMW throughout the game is garbled, even in stages without any ExGFX inserted. I tried extracting the old GFX first then inserting them after ExGFX insertion, but still they are jumbled. Is it not possible to use old GFX once you have begun using ExGFX? Do I have to turn the old GFX into ExGFX to use them with ExGFX?

Thanks muchly for any help.

Blast, now I've tried to open the files in MS Paint!! And they're stored in a kind of paint format so LM doesn't recognise them! Dear oh dear. Any ideas?

I used page 3 originally, so if I can restore their old file type I'll put them on page 4.
