He was NAKED! And he passed out because he just drank a lot of Vodka from the Liquor Store he was passed out outside of. So...yeah.

I know I'm kinda resurrecting a dead-ish topic, but the link in this topic doesn't work, and I can't find it anywhere on Habsolute's page...so someone please tell me where I can get the block tool program. Or upload it. Or E-mail it to me. Something. Thanks. |

Alright, so I added some ExGFX to the overworld, but if I use them in an event, they don't work right. As they fade in, they look like the old GFX that I replaced. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the original GFX file? Oh, and sorry if this has been posted/answered before, but I couldn't find anything about it here. |

Alright, thanks. I assumed by that sad face that you didn't find a way around it, so I replaced the original graphics, and that seems to work fine (although it still looks a bit strange. Hey, can't have everything, right?).

It seems to me that you need to open your ROM first. The code doesn't work for me unless I've already loaded the game.

Those re-designed Monty Moles are way cool. Took me a while to figure out what the holes in the ground were, though. Go me. The colors seem a bit...drab. Might just be the gray road though. Might be your intention, too. Also, the little hills in the water seem a bit odd looking. I think it's the green color. Creepy. I likes it. The new font for the status bar is neat. Looks better than the original. Not sure I like the little powerup box thingy, the name of which escapes me, but that's just a question of style. Ravens. Sweet. Those replace the Goombas, right? Don't see anything wrong with this one. That background freaked me out because I thought you were using transparency or something. Looks good, though. I can't figure out what those light blue things are, though. They look kinda like doors, but then there's one behind spikes, so I assume it's part of the background. Looks a little odd. Also, that's a really long time limit. Seems kinda boring. No background or layer 3 fishies. I like the bloober though. Overall, looks good. I look forward to playing it. EDIT: Served by editing. Nice updates, though, and the fishies help a lot. (edited by TheCube on 01-13-05 12:11 AM) |

Is there any way to save an overworld palette to a file? I've got a couple of overworld graphic sets with custom palettes, but I don't want people to have to manually put in all the numbers. It'd be nice to have an actual palette file to submit with the set. If not, I'll just use a txt file with the colors listed.

Originally posted by Kyouji Craw Well, not everyone. I won't, because I won't be unlocking hacks to figure out puzzles or find easter eggs. Where's the fun in that? And I'm sure there are a lot of people like me. I did download this, though. I'd rather have this when I accidentally lock the only copy of my hack than have to search for it and waste time. Honestly, I think it's a good idea...but I just know it's going to be abused. I don't like the idea of someone going into my hack and figuring out all the secrets. Then again, that's their loss, so pshaw to them. |

Am I the only one who likes the title screen? The diagonal stripes are...well, they're not pretty, but I still like them.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I didn't get the patch in my E-mail, and I did check my bulk. Can you try papercube@gmail.com? And if you want, I can upload it somewhere so you don't have to bother with the E-mail thing. Thanks. (edited by TheCube on 02-10-05 01:10 AM) |

I had to use SNES9X to get the ROM to work. Of course, SNES9X hates me and even though it TELLS me I'm getting 60 FPS, I know I'm not. Damn you, Windows Program of Evilness! In any case, I'm having the damnedest time getting past Iggy. When I try to jump on him when he's under the ledge, he hurts me, and fireballs won't get to him. Here's some things I noticed in the levels before that, though: The "I" in Yoshi's rescue message isn't capitalized. Just kinda bugs me. The orange platform things in the background don't fade when you finish a level. Probly not a lot you can do about this though, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Seaside Secret: The pipe here that leads to the Pokey place is fine, but when you use the pipe at the end of the Pokey place, it drops you into a screen with nothing in it, and you fall to your death. Seaside Soiree 1: This level just seems really...plain. Not a lot of enemies or scenery. Seaside Soiree 2: There are pipes on the gray bricks, which looks awful. There are gaps showing the background where the pipe meets the brick. There's also a couple of pipesthat are right near the edge of the upside-down ground, which has the same problem with the gappage. I must say, though, that the pipe background in the underground place with the water music kicks ass. Seaside Soiree 3: Same pipe-brick gappage problem as 2. As mentioned before, it is also notably short. Seaside Soiree 4: This level has too many screens. I accidentally flew over the goal, hit the last screen, and fell into the abyss. Iggy's Castle: The pipe maze is interesting, but there are too many one-ups. Having over 40 lives before even getting to the first boss kinda removes the challenge. I haven't beaten Iggy yet, but I'll add more once I do. |

Well, honestly, I don't download that many hacks...but the thing that matters the most is Level Design. This may just be because I haven't been exposed to the mass amount of hacks you guys have, and I'm still illusioned and optimistic. Heh. The hack I've been working on forever (Still only got a world and 2 levels done) has hardly any ExGFX (though it seems like a lot to me.) and absolutely no ASM (because I am an editor whore) and mainly focuses on level design and trying to keep the Mario feel while adding a new gameplay twist or 2.. So far, I think I've somewhat succeeded. Anyway, just my 2 cents. |

Ah man. Those clouds are sweet. Put my little "randomly drawn floating tubes" to shame. That lighter background platform looks kinda weird with the perfectly square edge, though. Unless I'm missing something important, which tends to happen a lot. Oh, and Ninjis Rule. |

Okay, so I've made a few blocks (9, to be exact) that act like the brown blocks (The ones that turn into coins when you hit a blue POW block.). It works...almost. When I hit the POW, they don't change into coins visually, but they work fine otherwise. So, is there any way to fix that? It'd be rather confusing for the player when they can collect pieces of the wall. If there's no way to fix it, I can just use the "POW Passable block" that comes with Blocktool, so don't worry about it too much. |

Okay, so that seemed to work, except now the first 3 or 4 screens of the level is a water level, most of the layer 1 tiles that can still be seen are glitchy, and the rest of the layer 1 tiles are replaced by the water tile. This seems to be caused by loading the ExGFX file I'm using, and not the animation itself. Er, help? (edited by TheCube on 03-14-05 01:05 PM) (edited by HyperHacker on 03-14-05 03:21 PM) |

I could rip something, though, if you guys have a request. Because I rock like that. |
