Well, it was at an amphitheater. There were tons of people up on the grass, and then there were the seat tickets. But directly in front of the stage, they had an open area. That's where I was and that's where the mosh was. |

I just got done listening to "I" by Meshuggah. |
Now, with witeasprinwow's description in mind, I thought I wasn't going to like it. But that kicked fucking ass. Very heavy and raw stuff. The song had some really great guitar sounds that I'm not accustom to. S'matter of fact, I just picked up their latest cd today, "Nothing". I'm going to listen to it after I get done with this post.

I'm listening to Tablets of Fate by a band known as Melechesh. This song is pretty decent. It doesn't reach out and bitch slap me like I want it to, but I enjoy it. And the Melechesh themselves actually. I don't really know any background information about them so I can't help you there. |
Now I'm listening to Purified by Lamb of God. (Not a religious band as the name might imply) This comes off their 2003 album "As the Palaces Burn" which is soooooo much better than the one they came out with this year. Not that it's bad or anything, but like I said, it doesn't compare to this one. Lamb of God has a great heavyness and anger to their music and if you're looking for some new metal, I'd advise checking these guys out. They hail from Richmond VA which is only about an hour away from I live. They sing about alchoholism, war, terrorism, and politics. It's very interesting stuff if you're in to both politics and metal. Oh, and they are anti-Bush just in case you wanted to know.  (edited by Legion on 09-24-04 09:16 PM)

That's why I like Stonesour more. That, and Corey makes MUCH better use of his amazing voice in his sideproject. Finntroll. A band that I have been meaning to check out but for some reason or another, I hesitated. But after this thread, I'll go check them out. Anyway, I downloaded both their (Ensiferum) self titled album and Iron. I like it. I can't say it's any better than other music like this I've heard from that region, but I still like it nonetheless. I couldn't expect any less from Finland, they have some amazing bands.

 I saw a few bands that I had been meaning to see. But there's still a long long list of bands remaining. On the top of the list is Metallica. I simply MUST see them live before they break up. If I don't, I'm going on a killing spree. That, and my life will never be complete. And yeah, the aching is kind of like a badge of honor really. But it doesn't compare to when I go snowboarding. I seriously can't move the next day. Like I said, I'm just a mediocre Slipknot fan these days and I thought they kicked ass live. They were awesome. So if you're a hardcore fan, just imagine what it will be like.
