| First screenshots rev34led. This game is going to kick ass. I'm still playing the last two almost every day. It looks like they did a graphics update as well which is always good. And apparently, it's due out in October. Assuming that it doesn't get pushed back (which it most likely will) then that's not too bad a wait. muahahaha |

Do you generally associate yourself with the shounen/shojo anime/manga genre of your gender (shounen = stereotypically "male", containing action, adventure, fights, etc. [examples: Naruto, InuYasha, DBZ]; shojo = stereotypically "female", containing romance, humor, "cutesy" characters [examples: Fushigi Yuugi, Chobits, Sailor Moon]? Yes, pretty much. 7. Why or why not? The characters, plot, and action just appeals to me more. 8. Do you think anime is becoming more mainstream where you are? Ohhh yes. 9. Why or why not? I say it's because of Cartoon Network mostly. It's been very exposed over the last several years. 10. What do you see for the "future" of anime where you are, that is, will every show become as popular as Pokemon? "Gotta jutsu 'em all" maybe? o.O Or will anime remain a somewhat-underground "geeky" pastime? I think that it will continue to grow more and more popular just like video games did but I doubt it will ever make it that far. 11. Speaking of stereotypes, is anime still a geeky pastime? This may tie in the "becoming mainstream" question, but perhaps not. Somewhat, yes. 12. Why or why not? It's still just "cartoons" to some people and a lot of them don't think that animation is a viable or decent way to get entertainment if you're a "non-geek" type person. 13. If you could get rid of that stereotype of only geeks watching anime, the geeks that can't get girlfriends and can't get a life, would you want to? No. 14. Why or why not? If someone truly feels that way, then they obviously don't know a think about us. Thats something they need to find out for themselves. I for one don't care what people label me. 15. Will anime becoming more mainstream get rid of that stereotype, you think? It just might. 16. Why or why not? Look at what happened with video/PC games. Way back when, it was just a geek thing and people would get made fun of for it. But today, everyone and their mother owns either a PS2, Gamecube, or X-Box. Now it's a thing for all walks of life. If anime becomes more mainstream, I believe the same thing will happen. 17. Lastly, if there was anything you could say to the general mainstream television audience (think American Idol and Survivor fans here if need be) regarding anime and its sometimes-associated stereotypes, what would it be? If you think American Idol and Survivor are good shows but dismiss anime, then you truly know nothing of good entertainment. Anime isn't all "kiddy" stuff like Pokemon and other shows such as that. Many anime movies/series/etc have very very deep and mature plots to them that really put other forms of entertainment to shame. |

| I really don't think the problems lies with the staff. I just went over the list and there was only one problem I had. And I already explained that earlier. But it's not like he's going to make the whole difference in the board "sucking" or not. Now I don't want to come off as a brown noser but this is probably the best staff configuration we've had in quite some time. I'm talking about the last couple of years actually. The only problem is that a lot of them aren't as active as they used to be. Now being here for this long a time, I can say the above because I know how they all act and deal with being staff. I really don't think that's the problem. It can't be. We've had better times with WORSE staff. How come whenever something goes wrong on this board, it's always their fault? You guys do realize that a majority of the users on this board are just regular members like you and me? We make up the biggest volume of the posts/threads which just so happens to be the meat and potatos of the board experience. I don't want to sound hypocritcal or anything because I've certainly haven't been the best user lately. I had a huge attitude problem over the past weekend. (Lack of nicotine.) Looking back on it now, the whole Kario thing did get way out of hand. I'll take a lot of responsibility for it because I didn't stop eventually like others did. I went with it to the very end. :/ And I'll be the first to say it. I was a HUGE hypocrit in saying that Kario shouldn't be unbanned because some people don't change. I'm surprise no one called me out on that one. Heh... I hated it when people said that about me, especially since I thought they were wrong. Bans are one thing, but permabans can change some people. So Kario, if you read this, I apologize. I contradicted myself and that's something I don't like doing. I'm not saying the staff is perfect. They can never be perfect to all of us seeings how we all think different. But at one point, we have to stop and look at ourselves. Personally, I'm going to try to be a better poster like I was back in the early days. (Reviewed my early posts on the old board and I seemed a lot more pleasant.) I suggest the rest of you do too. Try to have a little more respect for your fellow user and quit trying to act like your words mean any more than theirs. (Yeah yeah, I know I'm guilty of it.) I was a bit hostile to Fyxe the other day and he pm'd me and instead of flaming or throwing a fit, he wanted to resolve the issue. I wish more users were like him. It would certainly make posting here a more enjoyable experience. We don't want to end up like Gamefaqs do we? Those people suck. We're Acmlmers. To me, that's something to be a bit proud of. | Oh man, you know what I was thinking over the weekend? The only way to make the last few GTA's (and future installments) better, would be to add ONLINE PLAY. I know it wont happen for this one, but can you imagine the insane amount of good times would come from that? |
