I have a very hard time believing there is something after we die. I also believe that it's something people say just to make themselves feel more comfortable about dying. Most can't handle the fact that once we're gone, we're gone and that's the end. People need to have an assurance that they will carry on forever. Think of it as a security blanket. |
I, for one, actually like it this way. Thoughts of an afterlife don't really sound too appealing anyway. When life is over, it's over and that's the way it should be.

I'm sure this might have been brought up at one point or another, but I think it would be very beneficial to practically every user on this board if there was a way we could retract a vote(s) we've made for other users. |

I use the post radar solely for "shortcuts" to user profiles whose profiles I visit pretty frequently, and/or users who I pm often as well. |

I voted for Gamecube and not because I think it's the best, but because it's my personal favorite and the one I spend most of my time playing. The Gamecube is one of the best consoles to have been made. The only thing that's left to wish for is a flood of more good games. |

I think we're being a bit pessimistic here. It will eventually happen, not nearly as smooth as we wanted to and not worth the price we've paid because of it, but eventually we'll get there. |
As for Donald Rumsfeld? Worst SECDEF of all time. Seriously. "Bush facing an officers' rebellion in the military? We can dream, can't we?" It's not going to happen.  And besides, what do you mean we can "dream"? That would be horrible to this nation.

I actually saw this piece on CNN today at work and could not stop laughing at the gameplay footage.  Anyway, humankind is indeed disgraceful, disgusting, cowardly, vile, and full of hate. But on the other hand, they're also polar opposites of those. There's a lot of beauty to be seen in both life and people, unfortunantly the bad has a tendancy to overshadow and block that from view most of the time. I've always been a firm believer that evil is a necessity in this world. You can't have the good without the bad, otherwise there would be no good. Just normal. If you're so ashamed of being human, then you should be such a good one that you make others feel proud of it. Set the example. Live your life the way you want to live it. By worrying this much about others, you're wasting your time. "Please, taking too many chances are the things that get people killed." There's a fine line between taking chances and being stupidly hazardous. Not taking enough chances leads to a failed and empty life.

The reason I stopped drinking a few months after I turned 21 was because I hated the type of person I became after I got drunk. Not once did I ever get the violent type of drunk, it was always the stupid kind. Sure the people around me thought it was funny, but I hated it whenever I woke up the next morning. Also, I never really understood what the big fascination with it is. Being drunk feels pretty good, but it's not the end all be all of life. Being a heavy drinker is nothing to brag about either and it's always been a pet peeve of mine too. So you can imbide a liquid. Big deal, ya know?
