Remember Nintendos? And Super Nintendos? You probably still have one, like I do. Mine still works just fine. Every now and then the Nintendo will do that blinking light thing when you start a game but you just try it over and over again and it will work eventually. No fuss, no muss. |
But what, the fuck, is up with these new gen consoles that break after 3 minutes of game time? (sarcasm.) My PS2 is fucked, and so is my X-Box. My PS2's dvd-rom is horribly slow now. I remember when you put a game in, and it would load automatically. Now, when a disc in in, I'll turn on the power and it will come to the menu screen. I wait about 30 seconds, then it loads. Maybe. Some game wont work at all. Like MGS: Substance. I've never played that game because it's never worked. It will say Disc Read Error or something. It's like that with a lot of my games. It works sometimes if you tilt the PS2 vertically. It's weird, I know. Does the same thing with certain dvd's. Doesn't work whatsoever. Then it skips all the damn time, even if the dvd is new and in perfect condition. My X-Box started messing up on me recently. I bought it when it first came out, so it's only 3 years old. I get choppy frame rate on games where I've never gotten it before and sometimes it will just up and freeze. It SUCKS when you're playing Morrowind. I corrupted my game save yesterday. I had so much time invested into that game save. I went to save it, the progress bar went halfway and BAM! Froze. When I went to load it again, of course it sad "Bad Game Save Data". I was THIS close to stomping on my X-Box. |---| This is bullshit. I understand products like tennis shoes and other articles of clothing wearing out over time but when it comes to something like this, it's unacceptable. Hell, I've been using the same dvd-rom and cd-rom on my PC since April '01 now and it STILL works perfectly. And it's gone through high heat and low cold and probably has pounds of dust inside of it since I never cleaned it before. Oh, forgot to mention, my PS2 was the second generation. Whatever that one was. Not the first model they came out with, but the second. I even updated the dvd drivers that came with the hard drive disc. This isn't about a solution, I'm just bitching. I'm pissed because it's not broken to the point where I have to buy a new PS2 and X-Box, but it's broke enough where I have to to enjoy a certain level of gaming without getting pissed off every 10 minutes when something goes wrong. In other words, it works....but not the way it should.Am I wrong to expect my PS2 to last me a LOT longer than a few years? It's not like I payed a couple of dollars for it. Oddly enough, my Gamecube has never given me a problem.

This reminds me of the time where I had to explain to Hiryuu in irc that there are two north poles. He was amazed by that fact and we were all surprised he didn't know it already. We made fun of him for hours until he /quit. |

What are your feelings on the Shroud of Turin? If you don't know, then google it. It's pretty interesting stuff. And the possibilities.... Some say that is the real cloth that was wrapped around the bloody body of Jesus when he was buried in the tomb. (You know, the one with the rock.) And others, myself included, believe what other scientists have said. That it is a medieval forgery created in the 14th or 15th century (I think) and that the blood on it was pigment. Basically, just art work meant to decieve people. You'll always have people who say carbon dating is inaccurate though. I think it was maybe 50 years ago, but not in todays world. But let's just assume it is real. What if it was the real blood of Christ? (Doesn't matter if he really was the son of god or just an ordinary guy who people thought was a prophet.) What that means is that we could eventually clone Jesus Christ because we would have his DNA. Wouldn't that be freaky? Imagine if we went through with it. There would be a RAGE coming from certain people. It would be very very interesting to say th every least.Fake or not, the pictures are interesting. The full shroud. A negative of the shroud. Facial close-up. Negative of the same facial close up. I remember reading about this last year when I was on home during vacation. Then I forgot about it when I came back here. I'm going to study it some more because it's pretty fascinating stuff. Even more so if it isn't fake. Now I said I believe it's fake, but I haven't done a whole lot of research on it. Just basic stuff. If anyone has any good points or facts to proove my view wrong, then go right ahead and try to do so. It would be pretty awesome if it was real. Doesn't really matter if there is a God or not or if Jesus was what Christians make him out to be or not. Chances are that a man named Jesus Christ did exist during that time period and had a huge impact on people and the world to this very day. And if something like this was in fact real, then cool. Almost forgot the sub topic. Assuming we had the dna of Jesus Christ, would you be for or against trying to make a clone of him? (Assuming we could do that.) I was wondering about the powers and all. If the Christians are indeed right about their beliefs, would cloning Jesus make it so that he retains the same powers he had before or would he just be a shell of what Jesus once was? Basically, a human who is him, but not really. That is to say, no powers. I'm going to have to say the latter because in cloning, we'd just be cloning the shell and what it was, flesh and bone. We can't actually clone spiritual powers. |
