Is there any way to open the door in the third room north in the forest dungeon (the one with the bomb-throwing guard)? I killed all enemies and checked under all pots - nothing.

Also, I'm trapped. I get to the room with the laser eye and two cyclops, and it locks me in. However, I have no bow to shoot arrows, and I only 2 bombs, and I can't get back to Kakiro, so I can't get past that room, because there is nowhere to buy bombs in the forest and nowhere to get out. The only way I can think of is to go around killing guys endlessly until I get lucky and get bombs to kill the cyclops in that room.

There should be some way out of the forest once you go in.

Oh, I'm a moron. You can kill them with sword.

Oh, and when you come out of the cave below the race to the heart container (under the big rock), the rock replaces itself immediately as you come out, so Link kinda gets stuck and then shoved off the rock. The rock should probably stay off the cave at least until you leave the screen, right?

I explained a ton of different areas where you can leave the overworld in an above post. Do you need screenshots?

haven't played it for a while, let's load it back up:

Um, I've got the power gloves. Was there a boss somewhere in the forest dungeon?

BTW, I always play with sound off because the music is often "off" and annoying.

And, am I blind, or does Snes9x actually not have the ability to take a screenshot?

Oh yeah, and the prophecy guy in Kakiro village tells me two things: one about the book of Mudora and the desert, and one about finding a line of something in the desert. Are those actually in your hack?

-NOTE: Some of the pics above are WRONG (000-004) because when I uploaded new images for a below post, I accidentally replaced the older ones and I'm too lazy to fix everything.

F12 works. Thanks

Okay, the bugs:

- go to that screen and press right against the trees, hold right again to get this:

- or, go here (same screen) and hold right:

- hold down to get this:

- go left, here, after coming out of the cave to the area south of the Zoras:

- and left again:

- to find lots of interesting stuff, like this:

- and this:

[/img]- and left one more screen to:

- and woo-hoo, you end up here:

- or, if you keep exploring, you can end up on screens like:

There's a little sampler, anyway.

Skiffles: this is a really cool hack. After the castle, everything is different and very interesting. The "glitches" that I just pointed out are only there if you actively seek them out, and the door glitches are minor, temporary graphical glitches that don't affect gameplay at all. I'd highly recommend playing.

And hey, how do you past images into a post, here? I hit the image button and all i get is an image tag. I want to put an image from my hard drive into the post. How do I?

Okay, I just finished the second dungeon. I'm done for tonight.

That's one screen left of the graveyard. Just keep going left.

Okay, I'm gonna start playing again now, see if I can find where you hid third dungeon.

And, don't forget to fix what that fortune teller says - if he tells me about Mudora and the desert and there's no desert in your hack, that's not very cool.

I can't find any third dungeon - how do you get to those extra areas of the caves I cna see but not access?

Anyway, a few other notes:

- it looks like you should be able to go left here, but you can't:

- this feller is hilarious-looking! But it seems he has some glitches when moving about:

- and, if you go south, here:

- you end up here:

- (I'm stuck at the very top). Also, here:

- you can go halfway into the waterfall but not all the way. All other waterfalls you can't go halway into.

Oh, that's too cool, Omega. Nice one. Problem is, I wouldn't personally have run around for hours trying to figure it out :-)

Anyway, I muist congratulate you on Dungeon 3! Boo-yah! Nice one! I especially liked the puzzle for the boss key and the final battle with the eyeball thingie.

Anyway, got the master sword and found out they'd taken Zelda from the sanctuary, I'll play more tomorrow or something.

Good work!

Omega, I think if you ever get over your frustration with the editing tool, in addition to blocking off those parts of the overworld and fixing the door problem, etc., you should consider eliminating the castle sequence altogether - just have the adventure begin with Zelda and company in the sanctuary - the castle sequence was just all the same and would probably turn people off right away - they'd quit, thinking nothing is different, before they got to all the really great stuff.

BTW, ignore my suggestion to remove the castle. Just modify it some - I kept playing and realized you still needed the castle :-)

Difficulty is pretty well done. It definetely gets harder as it goes along, I guess, especially as far as puzzles go. But I guess I found boss 2 and 3 around the same difficulty - perhaps remove one of the fireshooter thingies from the second boss' room? I dunno. - If I'm remembering it correctly, that is.

BTW, the treasure chest in the first room after your break the seal with the master sword is small, and then when you open it it turns big.

Okay, finished the hack! Great job, Omega. Is HM stlil being developed at all, so that there may be a hope that there will be more frequent Zelda III hacks, and it will make your life a little easier?

Omega: you "can't find them all" (all the bugs). Does that mean you're sure you haven't found all the bugs out there, or does that mean you can't find ones that have been mentioned in this thread?

BTW, in the silly little room on Death Mountain with nothing but pots and bats, there is that scrolling problem again where the screen does scroll until you run back and forth, left and right, and slowly align it.

You mentioned you haven't played through your hack. If you play through it you will see many of the bugs I and others have pointed out.

Also, I remember some text big in one of the dialogues, but I can't remember where. It was quite near the end. Again, if you actually play once through your own hack, you'll come across it.

Hack Zelda: A Link to the Past. The above have been done to death, for the most part, but Zelda III has only one or two hacks currently out, and they are demos.

Euclid, what is your vision for the final version of this hack? what you have now is being called a 'demo', so obviously you have bigger plans for it. Where are you going? How many dungeons? Dark world? Other stuff?

Omega, just present this hack as a 'demo' or something and leave it as is so you can devote all your time on your 'super hack' - and if you get it done by XMAS that would be amazing, seeing as how ambitious it sounds, but DO NOT release that one before it is finished and bug-free. For example, I asked you about this hack early on if you had done bug-testing, and you said you'd done extensive bug testing, but then you told me later you hadn't actually played through the hack yourself. huh?

Anyway, looking forward to you Master Hack :-)

I tried both Mario Adventure 0 and Mario Adventure 1 IPS files, but neither of them patch correctly with my ROM, even when every other IPS for SMB3 patches just fine with it (I've tried about half a dozen other rom hacks). Does anyone have any suggestions?
