Excel Saga is a parody. Nabeshin is a parody of Spike in Bebop (lookie ep3, it's great). The masked person in the same ep is also some parody.. and I think the person behind the mask is a parody of a person in Galaxy Express 999.. not sure though (they look sorta like eachother). In a later ep there's some baseball stuff going on, and that's a parody of all sports anime. The puchuu and alien stuff is parody of scifi anime, the traps Ilpalazzo uses is a parody of all the exaggerated "punishment" stuff in anime. Pedro is.. well.. REALLY unlucky, not sure if he's a parody. The blond boss guy with stupid moustache is a parody of all weird leader guys with weird facial hair.

Bottom line being: I love it .

There's a lot of fun stuff patented.. like webshops involving a customer and a store (not a particular webshop, just the whole idea), JPEG, mp3, thumbnail images (the idea of a smaller image of a bigger one). All this will be accepted this summer if the new law is accepted in EU, I'm voting for a party that is against it.

Out of those? Trigun easily, but not the Adult Swim version, we're talking Japanese here baby. Of course, that'd be Trigun before the Legato character showed up (or whatever that evil dude is called), it definitely loses something at that point.

No, it isn't complete ignorance, you won't see anime the way it was meant to be if you only watch dubs, besides, since you are actually WATCHING it you have lots of time to read the subs. Dubs make at least me look away from the screen sometimes.

I really don't care about voices, reading subtitles can be distracting if you ask me.

The point being that the dubs kill the story and that means you can't truly care about the story if you watch an edited, moronized, kiddy version of whatever anime you're watching.

I watch subs, everything is subbed in Sweden, except stuff for kids. There's even some Swedish shows that have subs and to be honest it IS kinda handy even when you understand what they're saying. You get a chance to read the stuff you (for example) didn't hear.

The story revolves around Poemi, the daughter of Nabeshin (this wacky character from Excel Saga gets married with Yamamusume Kumi-Kumi and there comes Poemi). As the real name of Nabeshin is Shinichi Watanabe, of course naturally, Poemi's full name is Poemi Watanabe."

Another funny thing worth noting is that Watanabe Shinichi is actually a real living guy, one of the men working on Excel Saga. (He does sorta have the same hair as Nabeshin too).

Actually Neko, they did change Usagi's name.. not sure about the others though. They probably used the American names.
