What do you mean,do you mean what programs do you use to edit SMW like Lunar Magic or what programs you use to edit and play it as well?

If it's what programs do you use to edit it,then: 1. Lunar Magic 1.61 and 2.Translexhation (sometimes) 3.Block tool(once in a while)
4.Does anyone know a program named Snessor or something? I just got it and I wanted to change the sounds, but I can get only one of them to work. It gives you a whole bunch of re-run sounds like beeps and things that don't make sense.
Then,I got one in SM All stars, but it was just the one that says "All stars" over and over. Can anyone help me be able to hear the rest of them and how to go about changing them and adding them or whatever you have to do?

I use Z-Xtreme now instead of ZsNES. None of the other ones seemed to really work except for Snes9x and I like Z-Xtreme for playing SPCs and making ZSNES movies. I read something about editing save states or something. Is that true?

AtmaX- I finally got your music to work w/the game I am helping CPUbasic with. It' s going to be MarioFWDemo.
Also, the music from the star isn't really ruined or anything,I don't know how you did it,but that's from the star in SMW2,isn't it? How did you make it work? Did you get the other songs from Super Mario Allstars? If you did that, then it doesn't seem posible to add SMW2 music, but could you add the music for the castle from the castle in SMW2?
That would sound really good in SMW,and that's what I wanted to do,but I don't know how to change any music and I didn't know you could add any other music to SMW besides SMB3.

Squash Monster or whoever it is, I would like to try the editor too.

Where do you get Visual Basic though or do you have to buy it at a store somewhere? I thought this was a thread about chaosflare making a YI editor, and it said he was using Visual Basic, and that seems easier than C or C++. I tried to look for the Visual Basic 6.0 in the files (I have a book that I used for it),but I wasn't able to find it to d/load it so I found something called Liberty Basic and I also tried doing something and all I found out how to do was make it so you load a ROM file, but it doesn't always say .SMC at the end. Also,I made it have the menus that say "Open ROM" and "Open Level" and those things.

He says,"Does anyone know how to tell where the ends of levels are?"

Well, I think that's why I'm confused b/c I don't know how you know how to load a level at all. Then, you would have to know where the levels are in the ROM so the end of a level would probably be after the last enemy or if you know where the Goal is. I thought there was a list somewhere in the threads,is that there? I think it had like the addresses of the enemies and where the levels were.
I'm not sure if that's right though,I'm just saying it seems like it would be obvious if there was an enemy or something next to the Goal. I'm not sure if I really know, but once I was trying to change something in a level like the one in World 1 that had those Shyguys on stilts right before the level that those koosh ball things that make Yoshi get dizzy, and it turned something at the end of the level into a frog.
I hope that helps a little bit.

What program or editor did you use to make it do that?

It looks good, but is it really trying to show something in particular or it just random things not meant to make sense? Just wondered b/c my friend said it looked like Mario was blowing up and then the Kamek thing appears before it says,"The end"

That's good, Pearidian. I just remembered something about the game to tell Chaosflare.
There is this level,2-1,I think. It's the one where you jump on a big jumping board and you go up to this part where the screen starts scrolling, and these blocks start falling like in Tetris and they try to crush you. Is this like a special generator or something and how will it be used in the game? Also, does he or anyone know if the introduction part after the Yoshies are talking is a level too or what is it?

Posts: 415/417 I noticed that Pitchin' Chuck throws at a different rate when you place him down in some places. I experimented and found out that he changes his throwing rate when you change his X position.

From the beginning of the level (X position = 0), he throws at a rate of 2 baseballs, then pauses. Then move him left 1 (X position = 1), he throws at a rate of 4. Move him again, then he throws at a rate of 6. Then, move him again, and he throws at a rate of 5 (which is weird...). Then it repeats the pattern.

If you already knew about this, you can ignore this. Otherwise, it can be really useful for some puzzles...

Cpubasic,
I don't really use the baseball throwing ones, but I usually use the rock and football throwing ones as well as the bouncing and charging ones. Do you know if those work the same way or could there be a special pattern that they use? I don't know, but I'm just saying b/c you said there just seemed to be a repeated pattern so maybe the football and rock throwing ones might have a pattern too.

Yes, that's what I meant,if the rock digging ones and the football kicking ones have a pattern if Cpubasic is saying the baseball ones do.
I've never seen any patterns, but I changed the football kicking ones into hammer throwing or kicking ones.

I think I have a good level for 103. It involves like going under the ground like digging blocks like the desert-like cave levels from SMB2,if you know which ones I'm talking about. I just changed the one that says,"A block that Mario can pick up and throw". There is a pipe somewhere that you can go in and go to a secret or bonus level. I don't think I made it too difficult either.,and there are a few surprises too, kind of. I can send it to your e-mail address tomorrow.

cpubasic- I also have that level that I sent you for your game. It was the second switch palace, I think, remember? It was a secondary exit in level 106,I think, but you said it looked like a switch palace. I can send that one to SMW Gamer, if he says it will work.

Also, I think I know a reason that I think all of you are talking about. If you go in a secret level and then go through the pipe again like when I tried it in the digging blocks level, I think I put the wrong number for the exit so I got stuck in a block, then died.
I tried the pipe where you jump out too and I put a note block and for some reason,it wouldn't work b/c Iike kept jumping into it and then died too.

Also, maybe if people make levels that are like almost impossible to finish and have a really long time limit and are not that fun to play, that could ruin it too. We should start out w/the easy ones, make a few medium difficulty ones, and then some easier ones again, but don't make too many difficult and impossible or else people will lose interest-maybe only one or two except when you get to the last one or two worlds.

Well, I hope this helps a little bit.

SM Gamer,

I sent you one of my levels and I was wondering if you got it. I sent it from my AOL e-mail address: le71278@aol.com,and it was the SMB2 desert looking one w/the bowling balls in it. Also, I was going to see if I could help Cpubasic w/ the levels or I could be a tester probably b/c I don't really know anything about ASM or making the pipes from SMB3.

Also, I have some levels that I could use to show you from when I was helping Cpubasic w/MarioFWDemo. I am using a different patch of music from Demo World as well. I'm not sure who it was from, but it had SMB, SMB2, SMB3,and SMW2 music from where you get a star. I don't know if you know that version of Demo World, but it would probably be better to use instead of the original Demo World b/c probably a lot of people have already seen the other one.

I hope that helps and let me know if it's all right if I do levels or whatever.

Squash Monster- I have a problem when I try to open the program you made,it said I was missing another file like VBVMS60 or something. I d/laoded that one and then I got a message that said my version of COMDLG32.OCX may be outdated and I d/loaded it, and I keep getting the same error w/out being able to open the program. I don't think it has to do w/my ROM or anything so can you try to help me? Should I have put the first file in the same folder as Eggvine?

"when I put a mid-ring at the entrance (NOT THE CAVE PART!) and set the last part of the header to 32. It brought me to the same place as the original (the cave), but set it to 0, it sends me to 1-1 at the top left corner."

Cpubasic- I don't know exactly why,but maybe 0 is just the starting place for the game, at the beginning of 1-1. I don't know if the Welcome part before that is a level yet,but based on what you said, I don't think it is. It just seems obvious for the program to do that, but I don't think it's supposed to do that if you did it in 1-3. Oh,and I think I noticed yesterday 1-1 doesn't have a middle ring, but I don't know if that has to do w/anything. I'm not like an expert on those things.

Shadow,
Is SMB:YI a game for SMB or Yoshi;s Island? I could maybe help you w/levels,but I don't know how make graphics really. I just tried to use Tile Layer Pro to try to use SMW2 graphics in SMW, and I don't really know how to use Eggvine b/c it's confusing, but if you want me to help you w/levels,I could try. Also,I have made some levels for SMB3 so maybe I could help w/that,if you would like so let me know.

Hello,
Sorry, I posted in the New Partner thread, and then I realized it was SMW. Well,it looks really good like,I said. How did you get the big blue enemy from SMW2? Did you just get it from the graphics in the ROM b/c how did know which one it was Let me know if I can still help you w/this b/c I really wanted to.

peter_ac- I know it's a SMW game. I had already posted and then I realized it was.(The name Super Mario Bros.:Yoshi's Island seems kind of misleading though.) I know it's a SMW thread So I reposted in the Super Mario Bros.:Yoshi's Island thread. Sorry,if I posted a useless or bad reply here. I saw the screenshots and they looked good so I wanted to help Shadow, unless he already said you can help him,and he doesn't need anyone else to help him. I don't have a lot experience in making new graphics though

Posted on 08-22-05 12:53 PM, in Custom music Link
Hello, I hope no one gets mad at me for posting this and it isn't too much off topic b/c it has to do w/SMW music. I know MarioMaster said use ASM,but I dont really know it. I've only changed a few things using Translexhation(I made the turtles stop moving),but nothing changed any music.
Well,I was wondering (I think it was atma X or something) if you could use this patch w/the text file that has the music patch to add more musics(like for example, add YI:Ending or SMB3: Ending to the tracks,if you know what I mean) to the game b/c I made the patch work for my game and once I think I actually did get the music from SMB3 to work somehow. It has the patch w/SMB1-SMB3 music as well as YI(SWM2) the star music,I think so I was wondering if anyone has tried to do it and knows if that would work.
Thanks,

Ok,which screenshot is that? Is it the one w/the block? I know about that, but i don't know how to make all of the sprites work. Play the game b/c that screenshot was from before, but I took away that big enemy so the block should look fine in the game. I know it's not perfect though,it's just a demo and some of the parts,I haven't changed yet or like in the castle,I left it like that b/c I liked it how it was already. I might change it later.

I played SWM2+ and it made me interested in trying to make a game of Super Mario World 2. It's just a demo for now,and I know there are some glitches, but I can't help them, just so you know. I don't know how to make all of the sprites compatiable, but I have the whole first world and 2-1.
Also, I made a new Welcome level, new 1-1 Bonus Room, and some more changes, which I hope to have in the next demo, but for now,you can go to the link below to go to the patch. I know it's not like perfect yet, but leave me some good comments and suggestions if there is anything you would like me to do for my new demo, and maybe I'll try to do it.

Nebetsu,
Yes, I have some screenshots here: http://board.acmlm.org/commons/category.php?id=1

Well, those aren't the final ones. They were just test ones so try the game.I know I should have more, but I made those before and then I lost some of the changes so I had to do them over, but I will make newer screenshots soon.

Ok,I said I know it has of glitches, but like I said it's only like the second time I've tried to make levels w/this game.
Also, like in 1-7,I didn't make it really short on purpose, but it said I went over the limit or something so I don't have any more space available or it would crash so I knew someone would say that, but I'm sorry. I just wanted people to like say if the level design was good, and they started pointing out every little thing that was wrong.
c) Green red coins glitched under poundable posts in 1-7.
I know, was trying tomake them hidden, but they wouldn't go in back,I'll try to fix it.

This was just my first demo I've ever had here, and if you want to know, yes I've played SMW2 by Golden Yoshi, but he's like an expert in that so the level designs and things he did were probably way more advanced than what I've ever done. Oh,and I found out that thing about the ring in 1-4,just letting you know I knew.
