Part of the reason that it's better than most first hacks is due to Chris's (aka Dark Man) connections with other ex-LM users, such as myself. (I think I'm getting back into the market).

Now, I will debunk your complaints that his message boxes "aren't humorous." That is because they really aren't meant to be funny. After all, only a second-grader would laugh at those things. Drop the attempted eliteness, and give him praise for what he did on the first try.

Sure, he didn't edit the overworld, or add much in the way of GFX. Did you on your first hack? We should have a new [thread tag]: [1st], signifying someone's first hack, so it keeps whiny comments out. All he needs is some practice, and he'll be churning out hacks in no time. I bet most people quit making their hacks because you guys completely rip them apart. Some of you here are DEFINITELY NOT ELITE. I can guess right from your usernames that you fear to even put a finger on ASM...unless it's blktool.

Now, I might be uninformed about this subject, but what do you think about "group hacks?" Group hacks would be hacks that are actively worked on by more than one person, obviously. Someone was complaining about unfinished hacks, and this is the perfect solution. You can give your hack to someone else to finish, or you can start your own hack with other people, and the hack can be continued if someone quits. Plus, it opens up interesting ideas for overworld and level design.

Picture this: You have two people designing levels for a hack. They each make their own series of levels. Then, you create an overworld where you pick which set of levels you play for that world. Well, it's only an idea...

Whoa, I wasn't trying to troll there. Don't flame here on my account, do that in chat or something. :p

I told him about the invisible enemies as soon as I played the level. You can't expect instant bugfixes from everyone, because not everyone is an internet geek like you.

Now, I'm not trying to lower community standards or anything, but I'm clearly against this elitist bullshit of "Let's flame the hell out of people who post their first hacks and scare them off." If you guys didn't do that so often, maybe you'd have a few more posts per day than you do now.

At any rate, the hack is better than my first hack. It gots nothing on Kefka though, who I'm gonna bring back...

Too many people say "Windows is buggy, sucks, etc." The same is true for other operating systems. (Some handle bug better than others...but...) Just get an old windows comp to use for LM.

That's far beyond the scope of a tutorial. I'd recommend taking a look at the examples, and creating...less ambitious projects.
