Wow, that is useful! Can you make one that does the opposite, transforming RGB values to SNES colors? I find doing that more annoying than doing what this does.

There's a mass criminal outrage now in Toronto. People in Ontario, Maybe Quebec and Manitoba, and maybe some of the US know that a little 9-year-old girl got kidnapped from her house in October. I live near where she did, and our whole community (Pleasantview, North York, for any other Torontonians here) kind of got plagued... Halloween got cut drastically. And this year, there were about 10 murders already. |

Alright, I'll save the poor little antique boot and take the request. Just a note: the whole thing will only use ONE palette! w00t! I just noticed something. Who's doing the requested dessert world? Should I do it too? It will have top-quality ice cream! Nah, save that for April Fools' Day... (edited by Geno on 03-18-04 03:54 PM) |

Not to mention messy palettes, missing tiles, and garbled parts. |

I'll explain it. Use something that acts like a left side of an exit enabled pipe, and you can go down that singly, buy glitchily if you put a solid block in place of the right part... Mario won't appear to exactly go in the jar... If you want real exit-enabled stuff, either use movement pipes into 1-block entrances with teleport blocks or use ASM.

Scorpions can now be hurt blocks! Be sure to warn the player, or it will be cheap. You can change the palette a little for a poison scorpion, which can kill! |

Originally posted by SMWExpert I think you shouldn't worry about that, because the other stuff could be put in a separate tileset. But if you have space, either fill in the gaps or rip more similar GFX. Looks like I'm going to have to do a lot of that in the desert. Maybe even put the generic stuff in like wood platforms and such. This way, the hacker can create a truly full SMB3 level with more detail. Just finish ripping the main thing, and tell us how many spare tiles are there. Remember, you don't have to rip all of the tiles, just do the ones that you think are important. If KT15X ripped the whole airship, he wouldn't even have space for the extras or have enough palettes that can work together. |

Of course, you can "bicycle pump" the vase GFX into something twice the size, and make an exit pipe formation, but that is hardly retro.

That's better and contrasts better, but you may want to save the rainbow background. I think it would look good somewhere other than a layout, maybe even a wallpaper... You should change the blue gradient bar now, I think it was designed for the rainbow, right? Make it something like silver with your nifty metal texture. It does work in Mozilla Firefox. Originally posted by Kyouji "Kagami" Craw I believe KT15X used this tactic in one of his tilesets, and it does work, and is very useful in making Mario exit from it neatly. I think this is what you mean: 00|0[|]0|00 00|0[|]0|00 as opposed to 00|[]|00 00|[]|00 | being the separator of Map16 tiles, 00 being the ground or whatever, and [] being the left and right tiles of the vase. |

Just get any graphics tile viewing program that supports SMAS, I recommend YY-CHR. Open the SMAS ROM, and search for the graphics there. Some games have compressed graphics... :-/ |
