Agreed.

Welcome back everyone, and I hope the old threads can be imported from the archive, at least what's left of them.

Waah, I need my cloudy layout back!

Mod FuSoYa, but we need more moderators now, because Weasel is way too busy doing other forums.

And yes, this is me, Geno, from the old board.

Very nice, you can toy around with the colors to make this useable for a ROM hack! You could put some detail into the empty "dirt" area, like maybe random rocks.

Trash. Instead, post it in the new SMW Hack Showcase. I know there wasn't one when you made this thread, but still...

Why did you only read the first letter of my post?

And from the screenshots, I see no glitchy stuff, good job on that. I don't have much time at the moment to play, but I'll try it maybe tomorrow.

He probably uses:

Star Points will be awarded here, of course.
Don't use any dictionary sites, don't even post here if you don't know them. DO NOT USE DICTIONARIES OR ANY PHYSICAL SOURCES EITHER.
You can answer them separately or in groups, but I will judge if you get points for the word.
If you don't get them or it becomes inactive in two weeks, I will tell you the definitions and add a new, easier set. I myself used Dictionary.com for about half the words, so... (Well, less than half.)

1. (worth 3 points) Define:
abomasum, excerebrose, chinwag, blunderbuss, kvell, schmaltz, nudnik, schlock, urtext

2. (worth 6 points) Define:
antepenultimate (.5 given), mazurka (.5 given), cwm, eclogue, ostyak, alexandrine, inacquiescent, buccopharyngeal, ostinato, rhombitruncated, tylosins, intelligentsia

*dies*

Wow, good job!

Legalos, both are correct, I'll say 1 point.
Ultimanium, correct. 1 point.
Kinhad, correct. 1 point also.
Acmlm, it's good to know French. 1 point again.
Gemini, correct and close. 1 point, because the second is not exactly the answer I was looking for.

If someone does a single answer that's easy, I can give them a 0 for it, or 0.5, which is like a coupon that can be exchanged when you have two of them for 1 point.
I will update this in my bio, and NSNick got 4 points before the big board kill.

Yes, but you have to get more specific on that one. No points there, but it's still up for grabs, but only for half a point because you people know that it's a dance.

Looks very good, I failed miserably at arranging the YI cave tiles... I might want some help.

Rocky BG is kind of repetitive, maybe animate a waterfall there like in SMAS.
The castle entrance thing is from Atma's hack, and is indeed VERY nice.
Don't overuse the sad face YI castle stones too much, it will look very fishy. (Was it used in YI anyway? )
First overworld palette looks fuzzy, second looks awesome.

I thought you could do that with a transparent Layer 2. That's what I did in SMS2.
Very interesting, I see some inspiration from BMF and one hella big light crack.

Take a look at DWTLC's Ice World. Editing the enemies can be as simple as giving a detail such as a cute winter hat with only three (four?) colors, and you can custom animate the tiles for a more fluid YI look.
Blisseh: The castle is kinda monotone, but it would be really Mario-like if it was more colorful. That's why Nintendo didn't use them. If you used a full tileset with about two or three palettes, it would look wonderful. If you, meant the castle entrance, I'd have to agree it wasn't really Mario-ish, but it doesn't look horrible. It is extremely detailed and is probably better than what you, I, and even the elites (BMF, JJ, etc.) can make. I'm just stating my opinion, which is not really important...

HM, if you want any palette help:
Make the edges black again, and just add a tiny bit more red and yellow to each of the green shades, as much as you think it should have. That's all, really. Post the results!

The sad face block and (I think) the smaller blocks/bricks. The blue ones in the sixth screenshot.

Or just edit the "other" options for Layer 2 to have "Constant" for both horizontal and vertical scrolls. That should be more convienient.

And Blackhole, if you want sprites to be affected by transparency, make them go behind the light with layer priority. If you didn't know what it is, it's in the Map16 editor, you'll find it. Choose "Layer Priority Enable", and your sprites will go behind the objects. That's how Nintendo did the tops of the carrot plants and Bush #2.

And that's also how Fu did the keyhole niftiness.

Very good change. I see some paralellness and flipness there, fix that and you have a really nice-looking castle. Of course, you could touch it up with YI pipes and blue spikes.

I've been trying to redo my old layout (the cloudy one), and I'm kind of stuck on something that is very basic. You may do whatever you want with this thread after my question is answered.

As you can see, my BG image is not there. That's because I can't make a background image thing with CSS...

Isn't it supposed to be:
background-url: ('image url'); ?
