I have nothing against Hillary, but, she won't win in 2008 if she runs then. Why? 22% of people voted on morals this election and it shows this trend is rising. On grass root morality, women should know their place and to many, the presidency is no place for a woman. Note: This is not my view, but this is the vast majority of backward America's. Screw that, the DS may be a great system, but hold out until they get a good run of games going for it first. Sucks having a system that there's only 5-10 games for Go with the to-be cream of the crop (MP2, MGS, Halo 2) (edited by Rebecca Daise on 11-04-04 10:06 PM) |

I'm tired of us IRC regulars of being seen as hard asses who won't help anyone out, so, I plan to change that. Here is the data you seek. Super Mario Leg Tiles: 0x6EF5 = Mario's "back" foot tile (facing away from his direction) 0x6EF6 = Mario's "front" foot tile (facing in his direction) 0x6E7D = Mario's "back" foot tile when crouching (facing away from his direction) 0x6E7E = Mario's "front" foot tile when crouching (facing in his direction) Small Mario Leg Tiles: 0X6EE5 = Mario's "back" foot tile when small (facing away from his direction) 0x6EE6 = Mario's "front" foot tile when small (facing in his direction) These are the exact tile #s found in the pattern tables used for Mario's leg tiles when standing still. What you want to do, is change one of his leg tiles and leave the other the same. You'll have to over write the use of another tile, unfortunately, since there is no free tile space for sprites. For the new tiles you create, remember the tile # and replace it for one of his legs as above. If it appears backwards, just flip your tile in your tile editor and things should look fine. Hope this helps. |

Ok, it took me a while to figure this out, but here goes:
If you do all this, the World and Time display in the status bar should be disabled altogether, along with the timer itself no longer working (so your 1 level long level can go on forever). Also, before getting to work on your next request, to get the different top for the ground, you'll need to sacrifice an existing block. I suggest sacrificing the tree tops, since they are green and could be easily converted into a ground top. Is this ok with you? Xtreme984: Ok to get straight fireballs in SMB3, edit the following bytes:
Editing these bytes will give you straight fireballs for your Ninja hack. |

Well, I hate to say this, but it seems like what you're wanting to do as far as different ground tops is impossible without heavy ASM hacking and since SMB has only 6 free bytes, you'd have to expand the ROM and editing an expanded ROM is not fun for SMB1 (which is why I gave up on my own SMB1 Hack). How are enemies turning into coins "reaslistic" anyways? Realistically they'd catch afire and burn to a crisp Anyways, Im working on getting a hack that turns enemies into coins via fireballs at the moment. I may have it ready into for a Thanksgiving release . |

If it's ok, I would like to be removed from nomination of most innovated hacker. I won it last year (well, most influential) and believe that there are other well deserving hackers out there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I WOULD win, but the chances of another hacker winning are a lot greater if I wasn't in the running... I guess you could say I could turn into the Ralph Nader of the AHA awards But that doesn't mean I don't want my new hack(s?) for nomination for their respective awards (btw, Im DahrkDaiz...) I think this game could benefit from the use of cel-shaded gfx. It would make it look like the GBA-Kirby style artwork brought to life. Right now it looks like an enhanced Kirby 64. Though it's about time we get another Kirby on a non-handheld system | |||

Originally posted by Rockman I copied the idea, yes, but the code I used was of my own. And I gave permission to Jaspile to use any gfx of mine or any ASM hacks, and you didn't even bother to ask As far as "universal" graphics, the only ones I considered so from a rom hacking community standpoint are ones found from commercial roms, but even then, that's still another level of copyright infringement (edited by Rebecca Daise on 11-27-04 06:11 PM) (edited by Rebecca Daise on 11-27-04 06:12 PM) |

Well I've been intensely using your editor hukka and it's great. Here are a few bug reports: Whenever you edit a Hilly object type level, the program will set the graphics that it uses to Underground automatically, so you have to constantly change it back when you edit a Hilly level. The palette of a few objects in the Ship set is wrong. Look at World 3's ship to see what I mean. 7-7 uses Plain's 2nd graphics set, yet it's displayed as the first, I'm sure you knew about this though. One of the scrolling options is wrong. 2-Quicksand is a good example. It shows it's set to vertical (1), but it's not a vertically scrolling level (obviously). It's a Horizontal-no upward scrolling. And don't worry, I'm still working on that data. It's slower than before, but Im getting there |

Well I made an amazing discovery: DDR (the song by DDR Allstars) Oni seems to be just extremely easy steps for a challenge 9 footer, but I found out something about the steps: they're not original. Instead, the entire stepchart of Oni is pieces of other step charts of other songs! Here's the order at which each stepchart "piece" gets its steps from: Brilliant 2U Orchestral Groove Dead End Dynamite Rave Afronova End of Century AM-3P Celebrate Nite B4U Dance Dance Revolution (not sure on this one, it may be a piece from Dam Dariam, I'll check on that later) |

I had reinstalled Windows XP earlier this month and I went to update some things for security holes, yet, I cannot seem to install anything. I get the download and I either get to "installing" "configuring" or "setting system restore point". I get this on anything I try to update from Windows, including Direct X, Windows Media Player, the OS system updates or even Internet Explorer. Before going for updates, I was messing with services.msc. Are there any services that could halt the installation of any kind of windows update I could probably enable again? |

Hell yeah this emulator add-on kicks major ass. I've been using it since I've become a beta tester and I can't get enough of it. If I had this back when I was working on Mario Adventure, I would have gotten done twice as fast. Here's a few screenshots of how it can be qickly be put to use. FCEUxd in action Ok here I'm wanting to test something with Fire Luigi's new features in an upcoming hack. So I go to his power up RAM address in the RAM and I can change it to the fire power and right click it to freeze it, so if I get hit, I stay Fire Luigi The hex editor can be seen below the debugger. I made a breakpoint for when this enemy turned into a coin because of a bug in the hack when he's hit by a fireball. The trace logger (upper left) shows the last 10,000 lines of code that was executed, so I can trace it all backwards and find out where the code went wrong. Not shown here is that I can do a Seek to: in the debugger and right click next to the line of code on the left panel and the hex editor switches to ROM editing mode, which edits the ROM in its entirety, as if I were using a normal hex editor, so I scroll up, find the buggy line of code, right click the address in the debugger, Im taken to the address in the ROM file in the hex editor, I change a few bytes and bam, bug is fix. What's really nifty about this is that you can also save the changed code, so you don't have to apply it to another window and reload the game in the emu. In fact, if this thing had built in graphics editing tools, you'd never need anythhing else beyond level editors to hack an NES game, but if there's not a level editor, you can hack completely from the emu. I mean the hex editor has a find feature, so you can find palettes quickly, change then, reset the rom and bam, your changes are instant. If you accidentally screw up and change something you didn't mean to, you can undo the changes. Needless to say, this is probably the biggest thing to happen to NES hacking in a long time. If you're a starting ASM hacker or a vet, you'll definitely want this baby as soon as it comes out. (edited by Rebecca Daise on 12-07-04 09:37 PM) |

I believe the core it uses its .92 or .97 (7 and 2 do look a lot alike :/). Unfortunately, I'm sure this is gonna be processor intensive, but with winamp, Mario Workshop, SMB3 TSA Editor, 3 instances of YY-Chr running and winamp, the emu with the hex editor, trace logger, pattern table viewer and the debugger all running at full speed and no slow down. (2.4Ghz cpu). However, the trace logger will slow things down when it's logging, but that's ok with me and seems to be with other people. And yes Heian-794, this supports palette viewing (on the pattern table viewer) so you can get the palette, go to the hex editor and search for the palette and test it out right in the emu and see instant results. This will also make corruption pretty fast too (assuming you don't alway suse a corruptor) since the changes are instant. |
