While on the subject of checking boxes, the following has come up before: "I tell it to check all boxes using the box in the table header row, and it still saves [small number] messages. What's wrong?" What's wrong is that you had [small number] messages on a second page. You will only be able to delete those on the same page - anything else would be disasterous, really. How many here have created folders, by the way? How many actually MISS the opportunity to create folders to put Sent messages in? How many would actually use it? I deliberately skipped that part, because it would take some time longer to make it work with sent messages as well. I helped out a few people with email back when it was new, and I've met a lot of people that set up complex structures to save incoming mails in folders, but not one person that has even created a folder in his Sent folder. |

I'd upload it to a Mac, because I would not want to be found in fifty years with only Gator software inside my brain.

Furthermore, WMP by default puts Digital Rights Management on your files when you rip to WMA. There's no guarantee that they will work when you copy them over to your next computer. I could only wish I was making this up. |

Because I wanted to see how many people could still use it without it being there before you check the boxes. You're the first to not have gotten it. It shall be interesting to see what number we end up at. |

I distance myself from this "Movies affect kids" business. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go kill my family with a chain saw. (edited by Jesper on 10-26-04 03:59 PM) |

Originally posted by ErkDogNo offense, Erk, but this is why I coded this feature. The unique identifier thing is way off. The reader will just add a new item, so after fifty reloads of the feed, you'll have 50*number of threads per feed items. We talked about notification vs reading the other night. My take is that eventually we should offer an RSS 2.0 feed with only the information needed for correct notification - most likely thread name and number of posts, and an Atom feed with full posts. After all, users use feeds for either notification or some kind of big information database - even Gmail has feeds for the mail you recieve! - and I think it's possible to accomodate both crowds. The ones wanting notification will get that and only that - disabling the "useless waste of bandwidth and resources". With that taken care of, do you have any other arguments as to why there should be no "full content" feeds other than personal taste? |

Hm. Forum feeds are valid, however thread feeds fail because I accidently made the code use the htmlentities function, which translates some characters such as

How many of us want to watch a movie on a resolution roughly half the size of a TV screen's resolution? How many of us are going to watch Badger Badger on our iPods? How many of us that have a video-capable music player have ever used that feature outside of demoing to friends? If you're the kind that do not want color screens or photos, there are still three alternatives just from Apple alone, and hundreds of other alternatives. That said, I'm not one to regret a Video iPod with a bigger resolution when it arrives. But what Apple hopefully have realized is that most of the 'content' is in DivX, Xvid, WMV, Real Video and other such formats. QuickTime might have a big market share, and it definitely works with the standards such as MPEG-4 and will work with new stuff like H.264 (the HD-DVD codec), but it can't play all of the real world formats. |

Today's tagline brings up scary mental imaginery of a rasta Colleen, smoking some weed in Trenchtown, nodding his head rythmically, repeating "It's all greeeeeen, mon! Ya man!". Again, scary. #13? And I still have time to develop board software and make progress on my driver's license? You people need to get your posting in gear again. |
