Oh. Good point. That'd be another tag then, so that the toolbar would have something to insert (it must insert something - your post is just text, not text and hidden formatting codes like in, say, word).

I hope your gonna fix edituser.php soon or Erkdog, I submitted the bug a few days ago.
No. He's referring to the thing with the Bold, Italic, Underline buttons. You know. The toolbar.

We've got to define the actual bug before we can fix it. How about actually going to the bug and looking at the bugnotes?

Since if your not a friend on my Deadjournal account I tend to slack with checking that friends journal. If they get a RSS feed and all then I get a mail whenever they update.

I only used the RSS on the Acmlm board, which I honeslty won't use in that way. But I saw the light and is going to use it for other things.
It's not a "mail" per se. It just looks like one because you're using Thunderbird.

I seem to recall all Livejournal accounts having RSS generated somehow. Look for it on Deadjournal too since they seem to have copied Livejournal pretty much.

Right now the ONLY people that can theoretically see any poll votes are Acmlm, Emuz and ErkDog and none of them are likely to 'snoop' without reasons. I'm not up for a change on this; I think it's best the way it is now. Any sweeping changes to the poll system will come in the next release, 1.93b4, as in it's bad that editpoll.php hasn't been created b4.

By the way, I'd like to reiterate again that 1.93b3 is going up on Monday, 25th.

Posted on 10-20-04 04:13 PM, in potato chip bags... Link
The bag is filled evenly when it comes out of factory, but it's not nearly as 'thick' as it normally is. During transportation to the store, and hell, even in the store, the contents settle; ie some chips collect at the bottom and some on top, but more small chips collect at the bottom because more chips can fit there. That's why it seems like when you open it up, half of it is just air.

I just explained the physics of potato chip bags. I just may need to reevaluate my life.

Speaking of which, I guess genderswitching doesn't count here. I haven't genderswitched ever if you don't mean the hidden gender option way back.

Sadly, pre has never done that. pre stands for preformatted or preserved, depending on day of month and whim of Caesar, and both just encompasses preserving spaces and turning it into a monospace font. I may work on getting the parsing done for b4; I'm just going to finish up the features started on for the rest of the time on b3 development.

Minor bump here. Five days left. And I still haven't started the RSS tutorial - I need to work on that.

The biggie: If the plane didn't crash into the Pentagon, then where the hell did it go?

There are lots of sites out there thoroughly debunking everything in the trippy flash movie. Go Google.

The stuff I've done today, hotttttttttt off the changelog:

If you have moderator status in the current forum, you can now create threads that are closed and/or stickied by default by checking checkboxes in the new thread screen. You can also opt to close a thread right after you reply by a similar checkbox.

More finally features, in other words. And I did something more with RSS. Oh, this elusive RSS, in just four days they'll know.

The reason the government might cover it up is because if it was infact, a missle, it went by undetected (or even a small military plane for that matter) and this would send a message that our radars are weak, encouraging further missle attacks.
Good point, but there was still a hijacked plane going somewhere. After all, if the plane wasn't hijacked, the passengers would still be alive, right? Unless the plane just happened to crash in a super secret location that they have quieted down. It all sounds too far-fetched to me.

The big problems with custom schemes are:
  • One to two fifths of the board wants it; about one seventh of the board will actually use it
  • It will take some time to develop. Sure, there's been other examples, yes, but none of them have been very good. Take picking colors, for example. I don't know about you, but I'd want a button that'd bring up a color picker, where I could pick a color OR just write in a hex value and fiddle with brightness or hue, which could make the process a lot easier.
If we do it, however, I'll also work hard on making it possible to define a url. Every n of your own page loads or every x weeks/days/hours, it'd go to that url, fetch a text file in a specific format and use those settings instead. Ta-dah. Stuff like randomizing colors or even cycling colors (just like daily cycle) are possible by popping a PHP script to output the text file instead.

The way custom schemes would work amongst several users is that you'd tick a box saying "share this scheme". And you'd be able to create as many schemes as you'd like (although we might limit it to 10 or something).

What the post toolbar needs more than anything is being redesigned completely. No offense to sarev0k, the guy that wrote the previous script, but it's very confusing and it takes a lot of code to do simple stuff.
