When I was about ten years old, I started thinking about how cool a movie about a post-apocalyptic ice age could be. I almost wanted to write up a script, but I didn't have enough ideas to work with.

Seeing the commercials for this, I was originally very interested. However, I'm now starting to think it couldn't really live up to my ideals. Given the right people, this theme could be worked into a fantastic movie. Instead, it's likely to be just another film that will come and go, followed by several clones.

Nope, but here's a hint: the title has the word "dog" in it, and it's an SNES game.

Two points for Kefka! You hit the nail on the head, however blindly (although I believe there's also an exclaimation point in the title, that really doesn't matter).

... but it's too late right now for me to bother messing with tables and taking/uploading screenshots, so I'll fix this up later.

Another thing about combination locks: some of them have a failsafe "dent" in them. As you'd guess, it's a visible dent in the lock itself. Essentially, it's for an emergency situation where a lock desperately must be removed. A focused pressure on the dent (ie: chisel+hammer) will imediately destroy the mechanisms, opening the lock and leaving it pretty much useless. These are the types of locks we have to use at my school (although the rule's not very strictly enforced, and I'm pretty sure not many folks know about the dents...). It's a bit of a shot to my sense of privacy.

I can't really remember, but I believe they also have those standard keyholes on the backs of them, in case the principal ever wanted to get into my stuff for some reason.

This song makes me think of the first level of an RPG, or something. I think it would make good videogame music. I can see a character stepping out of his house into the streets of the quite little suburban town he lives in, to be met by this as the town's music.

That's just what I get from it, though...

Well, for the sake of criticism...

I don't really think the poem flows very well. There's no real simmilarity amoung the syllables in matching rhyming couplets per stanza, or in either line of the couplet.

It's a fairly nice poem, otherwise -- and I like how you took the tin soldier from a new medium -- but a large part of poetry (to me, anyhow) is a flowing pattern amoung sounds and syllables. It's like rhyme: it's not absolutely needed, but it's worth a lot.

These situations come up from time to time. Sometimes it's because of silent dislike, and other times it can be a simple difference in two people's respective concepts of what friendship is. For the latter condition, it can seem to one person like the other is only pretending to be a friend, which leaves one feeling fairly used.

I can't rightly say which situation you're in. Could be the first, could be the second, could be an entirely different situation altogether; but either way, you'd probably be better off not wasting your time with her. If she doesn't find you worth talking to, you shouldn't find her worth worrying over.

Making friends in real life isn't too tough. You just need to find the right people. But in the meantime, there's always internet message boards!

Well, I have read the advice you all have left me and I think that due to the majority of it stating I should confront her, I think I will in a note. However, do you think that this would make her hate me? I am basically going to tell her that I really like her and that I care for her and all, but I'm not comfortable with making out (as of yet). I mean, the first time I kissed her, it was just going to be a short kiss on the lips but she escalated it into making out. Does this seem like a good way of telling her?

Sounds like a good idea to me. The concept of putting it in a note is the only part that sounds iffy. It really depends on what she's like. For some people, notes are definate things, that provide a certain feel of security; for others, they're cold and impersonal. It may sound like I'm going too far into it, but all I'm really saying is to go by what you know. I'm not saying to pick the situation apart. You know her to an extent, and you should have a good idea of whether or not to use a note. But either way, letting her know how you feel is a good idea.

If you actually do still like her, then the relationship still has potential. Some people are really just insecure. In your case, it's likely due to her past boyfriends. Insecurities can be a real pain in a relationship, whether they be related to her self-esteem, or her additude towards the SO (ie: you), but it's important to keep a level head over it. If you both still like eachother, it's something you can work through with a little effort.

Just go for it. You'll have your friends with you, and a load of failsafes against anything going wrong, so don't worry about it. Also (and I think this has already been mentioned), the more terrified you are now, the more you're going to love it, and the more accomplishes you'll feel after it's done.

(For added effect, have a friend toss some spiders on your face before the fall!)

Obviously, psychic powers only work when nobody's looking. It's like my ability to turn invisible! Really a shame that I can never show anyone, but I guess it comes in handy (especially with the blind).

Okay, serious now. That Simpsons thing used to happen to me all the time, and I guess it still kinda does. It's hard to tell, because I don't really watch TV anymore.

But let's test it! I'm thinking of a number between one and 237 billion. What number is it?

About three months ago, I saw this book sitting on a shelf at a local bookstore, and it looked pretty good. My mother rented the movie tonight, and while I couldn't remember anything about the plot, I watched it with her.

It was an alright movie. I must first admit that in my sitting down to watch it, Jennifer Connelly was a big deciding factor. However, the movie was actually worthwhile. It wasn't mind-blowing by any means, and I really hated how completely stupid a lot of the characters were throughout most of the film, but the last half-hour of it was pretty good. It gave a different perspective on the personalities involved, and it got pretty dramatic. Looking back now, I realize that it wouldn't be surprising to find that the second half of the movie had a completely different director. I don't think that's the case, though.

Anyone else see this? Any opinions? Or have you read the book? It seems as if it might be the kind of story that was better as a book, but I wouldn't want to put myself through the agony of watching those characters make all the same mistakes over again if the book wasn't worth it.

Most of these are going to be guesses.

(1) Imma say this is fact, because while the name sounds like a vegetable sauce, it literally means something to the effect of "salt room place".
(2) Crap, because I've heard no such thing.
(3) Crap. James Dean was nominated for an Oscar after his death, but I don't think he won, after.
(4) Sure, why not. They're always in your face, and some people really hate onions.
(5) True... because it sounds true.

Okay, firstly, you must play this game as soon as you get some free time. I really doubt you'll regret it if you like RPGs.

Second, Kefka definately should have put the title out in the open and the spoi;er in the tags, but I guess that's all in the hillarity of it.

And third, of all the systems, you're using Sega Saturn? Might I ask why?

On a board like this, if I were to type a long string of symbols, it would break the table, ie:

Is there a justification or something that I can use to make the text flow within the defined space of the table without using line breaks or spaces?

The original Link's Awakening was rediculously full of glitches. That one was the biggest, but I believe there are a load of other ones, like being able to "pick-up" pieces of the screen at points as if they were pots or hedges. It was amazing that the developers managed to let so many things slip past them like that, but it certainly made for a great replayability factor!
