Okay, I have been confused by this since it was posted. Will this be a hack that: |
1. Has like 1 or 2 animations of mario "sliding" across the ground, and he can jump and such... OR 2. Will this hack be like what mario does at the end of the game? Ya know how he "auto-walks" with peach and yoshi. I think the second one is better. So how will this work?

It looks better in just black and white. Currently it looks like a glitch hack to me. With the "bad" palettes and such. So put it back to just black and white, and make the lines not only thicker, but not perfectly straight. And that final shot...straight out of YI? HAHA, no. YI used very vibrant colors and shades, that looks like something from a bad NES game. Your game looked awesome before the color was added. So just make the lines thinker and not straight, and make the game black and white and it will be 100% better. Currently with color it doesn't look that great.

I will vote as soon as I see screenshots of each background. I would be more likely to vote for any cave or forest backgrounds however. I haven't really played any of the DKC games that much, so I only know of a really shiney tree background, a purpleish cave background and a ocean background. |

I voted for 4 backgrounds. Here is the order of importance: |
1. barrel shield bust up (dkc3) 2. ghostly grove (dkc2) 3. bramble blast (dkc2) 4. treetop town (dkc1) That first one is too damn cool!!! I NEED to have it! So please rip that one for sure. The other 3 would be great also.

I posted this same question when I was new here, and the answer I got was Yes. However, you need ASM to do it. Also, it wouldn't show up in LM so you would need to assemble everything in hex or something like that. |
I have no clue how to do any of this, but yes it is possible for sure. I dont know about the pipes/stars, but I would think that would be ALOT easier then making new overworlds! So I think the answer to both your questions is yes. Oh and if you want to try to learn asm, go for it! Its tough tho...Ii tried and had to delete the document before my brain exploded...lol. Its hard just so ya know.

6) Yes. You do need to use the palette editor. |
7) No overworld tiles do not have any collision data. You need to make mario paths on layer 1 for mario to walk along. They can be placed over water, cliffs, etc. Anything you want. But make it look good. And about the water, just use LAND paths (they are green) instead of WATER paths (they are blue). I will asume you know how to make mario paths. If not, the help file is your best friend. 8) Not without ASM. BMF did it in his hack, but that guy knows shit loads of ASM, so good luck. Simple answer: For you, probably not. 9) They are located right below the pipe tiles, bullet bill shooter, and yoshi coin in YY-chr.

Sweet man! I had just unlocked a hack last night, and strangely the level numbers showed up in the overworld, and there were no errors!! |
BUT The level numbers didn't match up! What I mean is, when played in ZSNES, I enter a level and lets say its a forest. Then when I open the game in LM after unlocking it, that EXACT same level (based on OW position), when viewing the level number then going to it in the main window, will NOT be the same level. Is that the fixed bug or not? Either way, thanks for the update.

Yes its fine if you give people credit. But ALWAYS ask them before ripping from their game. |
Just so some of you know....there are certain people like myslef who slightly edit rips (moving a few pixels maby), so they can tell if someone ripped from your game and didn't give you credit.... Oh and NEVER rip original graphics out of a game unless for some strange reason the creator says its okay. |
