I was actually making a hack with this kind of theme (thats why I was so interested in this info and asked someone to make me a block). With my first hack, SME (Super Mario Era), when bowser is beaten, he will fly to the moon and thats where the second story begins. It will probably be called SME2: BMB (Bowser's Moon Base) or something like that. Thats why low gravity is essential for my next project (which wont be for awhile).

The only thing that I could think to do is have a custom block that when touched will hide layer 3, and when touched again will act as nothing. Then just set it right overtop of mario's entrance and layer 3 will disappear. However I am not sure how this will act when you press 3 in ZSNES (the button to turn on/off layer 3. It may just do nothing.)

I am trying to replace the clouds and water on the overworld with my own custom designs. However, even when I save in YY-chr and in LM, the tiles dont get replaced. Are they hard coded or something? Would there be any possible way to replace them? I mainly need the water, the cloud design is still in the works.

Also, I recently noticed that on my bowser submap there is a beaten castle that I can't delete. I tried deleting it in all 5 modes (sprite, layer 1, events, layer 2, layer 1 events [?]) but it wont go away. It seems to appear when one of the events in the 20's is activated. Is my game glitched or something? I can get shots if you want, or I can send certain people my game just PM (if I dont respond then I already got someone to help me out)

Thanks for any help at all.

Yes I know what GFX they are, but when I edited them, it didn't change them in LM or ZSNES. I did save so thats not the problem. So I "X'ed" out YY-chr, then brought it back up again, the water was still changed there but LM doesn't see it as being changed. I really need to change the water mainly because the current water doesn't look that great.

From what I know, you can't edit overworld tiles directly in LM.

And Asdf, did you use ExGFX for your overworld with edited water? Is it on the main OW map or on a submap?

I am trying to make my mario the SMB3 mario, and its sort of working. I have the walking a standing jump animation done, and I'm working on the others. Thats not my main priorty right now tho, I am working out glitches to get ready for a demo. Anikiti is also working on making his mario the SMB3 mario and I think he is finished it but I'm not sure.

gnkkwinrrul, Im talking about the Overworld not a regular level.

Atma, I remembered in your hack, you had the water replaced so I decided to look in your game. I opened it up in LM, and when I opened the OW the water was changed. However, even tho the graphics were changed in YY-chr, the OW 8x8 editor etc, when I moved the water, the old "loop" waves were back. So for yours did you create a whole new water tile? And your clouds are changed aswell. I have no clue how you did that.(EDIT: I know how to edit graphics just animated ones are giving me trouble). If anyone wants to see my hack for themselves just PM me.

1st shot: Why include this?
2nd shot: To dark. Dont use these for screenshots.
3rd shot: Same as above.
4th shot: If your going to make a level of all breakable blocks, make it a hidden bonus sub-level.
5th shot: Just bad. Messed up mario, floating moon, passable cement blocks, weird goal...please change this.

Newer ones:

1st shot: Please no. Just plane bad. Change this right away!!
2nd shot: Not that bad, but cap of the side of that ground (where the pipe and water and ground meet).
3rd shot: Same as above.

And for your time limits, why are they so high! Set it to 500 seconds, play your level and subtract your remaining time from 500. Now add 150 seconds and set that as your time (rounded up). Thats what I do, that way there is room for your player to make mistakes.

Also, why change mario's palette? Just leave it the way it is.

Oh, now I see what your talking about. Just use the OW graphics in a level to see if its possible to edit them...I will try that and edit this post with the results. I didn't quite understand what you were saying there.

Someone should create a site, like the ExGFX Workshop, with a list of edited sprites. For example:

Sprite # - 12
Sprite Type - Poison Mushroom
Code in Hex - XX XX XX XX etc.

That way people, like me, could just copy down the code into hex without having to make it up them selves. And if a program was ever made, it could have an export option to export the sprite info to file, then those files could be uploaded.

Anyway, I really hope that some one makes and editor. What ever happened to the people that said they would do it?

Well, I decided just to release a demo with 3 less levels completed and a few graphical glitches. You will notice them right away sadly.

So here is the demo, I forgot to re-replace mario so he is messed up...I wasn't going to repatch the game tho just for that. Also in the first level, the first pipe leads to a level that I thought you all might enjoy, but it wont be there (the pipe) in the next demo.

Ya, I thought you all might feel that way. Like I said there are many glitches and messed up palettes. I really shouldn't have released it.

And about that mushroom house glitch, I have no clue, it doesn't happen to me.

Kratos, I have NEVER used glitched sprites intentionally.

What I would love to see in YI is a desert level. I know this wont be possible until exgfx but that is one element that they never covered. I personally always liked the cave and mud/forest levels. This hack is looking very good, and will be a d/l for me when its gets completed.

BTW, do you have any ASM at all in this hack? (custom ASM, not stuff that eggvine may insert)

I love this new demo. I had never played the previous demo but this one is very cool! The only problem that I have incountered is

When I entered the 'base' I completed all the levels in there and the sky levels, but now when I try to leave the 'base' it wont let me. What I mean is I can't go back to Yoshi's House area. I had to restart (BTW, I didn't use the SMO Patcher you provided, I used LIPS).

Anyway, everything else is cool and I loved your underground BG and 'info signs'. Your status bar is quite awesome aswell (although I really dont like the SMB3 "M" that replaces mario's name. I am currently trying to replace it with SMB1 head but 4 colours is restricting). Good luck with this hack and keep up the good work!

Well, It only started happening after I beat the sky palace or whatever its called.

Also, is it possible to open the locked door in the base in this demo? Ii have only like 15 or so levels found.
