Atma That would be great! I actually just relized after I uploaded them that I uplaoded the 256x256 256 color version instead of the 24-bit (I dont know why there 24-bit because they are a snes rip) 512x512 version. I can't find my bigger versions so if you can work from those that would be great!

The 3 I need the most are:

1. Rex Ice Cave
2. Pokey Desert
3. Koopa Hilltop

Of corse I need the others aswell, but if you could do those two for me that would be great! Thanks

Very nice, such vivid colours for you overworld. One thing I HATE is that your ground grass tiles on the overworld are those dots. I have the EXACT same thing in my hack. I cant say you copied me, seeing as I haven't really released any shots.

1st shot: I WANT THAT BG!!! That bg is way to cool. Very good job!
2nd shot: Very nice. I love overworld shots Just with that waterfall, make it look like its falling behind the land. It looks like its falling onto the land, but theres no lake there...
3rd shot: Quite full, I dont perticulary like it, but thats just me.
All cave shots Love them all, very nice!
9th shot: Dark, I like dark levels
10-13th shot: I like the Bg, not much else to say.
14th shot: OMG. Very nice tileset!! Awesome rip!
15th shot: Not much to say about this either. Is that ball a ball n' chain replacement or a custom sprite?

Overall, I can't wait to play this game! Very nice work keeping the status bar palettes normal!!

Okay this is a risky operation here, amke a BACKUP!!!

Now open up the hack (LM) with the overworld you want. Now open the overworld editor and then just go back to the main LM screen. Open up the Rom you want the overworld to be in. Now open up the overworld editor again. Now just save the overworld. X out both screens, open LM and then open up the hack you wanted the overworld in. Open the overworld editor and see if its there. If so, good job. If not, you probably did something wrong.

BTW, custom OW palettes will not transfer. Fu should have added an extract OW palette option...

No what I mean is, I was going to have a link to The SMW board, but then decided I would take that link out. I must not have deleted all the code for that cell in the table. Anyway, its fine now, thanks again.

Just FYI, they are quite large in Mario & Wario, so trying to assemble them by the Vram may be a bit hard. Good luck and Thnak you alot!

What I figured out with that level skip code is that it only activates the normal exit. Is there also one that would activate the secret exit? If so, what is it?

Oh, and without codes I found 82 exits

I actually have two questions here:

1. What bytes would I need to add/change in the rom to enable a level to have 3 exits (normal, secret, and another one)? Would I need any custom blocks etc?

2. How do I do overworld animations? If I can get three exits, I need to create a different animated (flashing) level tile...

I could go without the three exits, however because of the levels placement, it would need to be always revealed and it would be floting in the air (its a bridge level).

So any help would be great.

Im sure that was me who told you not to mess around with pages 10-11. That is ONLY if you want to use the original BG's in your game aswell as new ones.

Follow these steps:

1. Rip your BG (or make it) and put it into an ExGFX file.
2. Open LM and Insert ExGFX using the...yellow (?) mushroom.
3. Open the 8x8 editor (if you riped/made the BG) and the 16x16 editor (if you downloaded the BG).
4. **This is for a downloaded one (one from the ExGFX workshop)**
a. Open the Super Bypass FG/BG window.
b. Where it says BG1 type in the ExGFX number.
c. X out that window.
5. Your BG will be funky, THATS OKAY!
6.Now in the 16x16 window, go to a page from 12-1F.

**Have the ExGFX**.bin in the folder called ExGFX (you probably already know that) and have the other files (Map16Page.bin, Map16PageG.bin etc. in the same folder as your Rom.)**

7. Now on a page from 12-1F hit the F2 button. Click yes (or okay) and the graphics should show up.
8. Now open the BG editor (the leaf) and on the KEYBOARD hit Page Up. Look in the cornor of the BG editor and you will see numbers (ex: 1024, 1124, 1224 etc.). Notice the 10, 11, and 12 parts. This is the page that the editor will use in the 16x16 edior.
9. So if you graphics are on page 16, it should say 16** (** is just the tile number). If they are on page 13 it should say 13**. Get it?
10. Now just clcik on one of your tiles in the 16x16 editor and then right click in the Bg Editor.
11. Tile Pasted!! (hopefully)

I really hope that works fro you, and if you dont understand something DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK!! I like to help people so they can make great hacks.

BTW, I dont have LM open here so this is from memory. If someone sees something wrong with this tell me.

Best bet is to enable Joined Graphics option in LM. This will extract a file called AllGFX.bin instead of GFX00.bin, GFX01.bin etc. This file is ALL the GFX files in one. When you have done that, just go to the bottom of the list and go up a few screens. If you using YY-chr, its up about 5 screens

Edit:

Oh and make sure that your in 4bpp SNES format.

Atma is amazing at graphics. He had the most amazing Demons Crest tree set I have EVER seen!! He also had MANY more amazing ones!!

Anyway, if you take your time you will get good at this. When I started my very first hack (never released/ never finished) I used to put things like pirana plants floating in the air. And pipes in water which makes that ugly line against the side. I eventually relized this was soemthing that shouldn't be done. Now I have (IMO) a very good hack with some sweet GFX!

Thnaks for so many replys, however I really dont understand that much of it. However, Escherial, seems to be getting somewhere with this. Escherial, if and when you do get the block working, would you be able to submit it to jonwil (Block tool creator. If he is still working with that...?), or to me so I could use it in my hack? Is there a place where I can download the same font as the SMW title? I have tried to construct GOTLE and Goombas Of The Lost Era by hand, but either I run out of space or it looks bad. So if there is a place I can d/l this that would be great.

If not, Aioria, what font is that that you use on your sig picture? Or did you design the letters?

Crap, that sucks (not meaning what you did sucks. Just that I had that a long time ago). I had created a 3-d level a while back with 3-d blocks, pipes etc. For a BG, I used the SMB3 spotted hills BG because it sort of looks 3-d. I got rid of the level tho because of many glitch problems. Right now I have a shaded level that I can up load some shots of. It looks really cool IMO.

Good job tho. It looks quite good. I have a suggestion for the pipe. Just think of the pipe as a normal 2-d pipe with 2 extra blocks on top. Dont use any layer priority, just make the top 2 blocks act like 25. It will look slightly odd with the non flying plants, and when mario walks on it, but it will look fine when a plant enters it.

Its easy to make sprites work in differnt sets they arn't supposed to be in. I have been doing that for a while.

Anyway, I like the level with 'boos and thwomps together'. The ground looks really cool (kratos has that in his hack tho. And so do I, but not as ground), the only thing is you need to add cornors to it. I hope you see what I mean there.

And did you use sprite editing to make that pirana plant spit spiny's? If so, is it a new sprite, or a replacement? I would make it a new one if I was you.

Overall good job, the over world is cool.

Thnaks every one, I now have my title using the SMW font. Now I have run into a new problem.

First off, I didn't have enough tiles to fit in Super Mario World GOTLE, so I changed the name to Super Mario Era. That a good name or should I change it to something else?

Now the problem I am having is the colours. I wanted the colours to alternate red, blue, green, yellow for each letter of each word. I know how to do this, and have done this, but I ended up using palette 3 and 5. Now when I play in ZSNES, the colours are messed up. I know I can't use certain palettes for the OW and I guess the title, but is it possible to ASM it so they can be used? Thnaks

Okay, when you view your file in YY-chr does the BG take up the ENTIRE space or just half like you would see in the 8x8 editor of LM? It can only take up half for it to work. If you could post a .png shot of the BG editor, 8x8, 16x16, and your ExGFX file that would be more useful so we can see exactly what you may be doing wrong.

Those "line shots" aren't very useful, we would need to see actual shots. To do this, hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard and then open up photoshop, Irfanview, Paint, PSP etc. and press Ctrl+V. This will paste what your screen looked like when you hit print screen. Then just save and uplaod them to Photobucket.com. And you for BG's and tile sets, NEVER just paste a screenshot and save it as an ExGFX file. If you still need help, I think it was you I emailed about help thru AIM. I can't do that tonight, but next weekend may be good if you still need help.

If you can get shots before 8:00 PM I can help you out alot quicker Good luck.
