For me the ACS ends (and starts) 6:00 in the morning (6:00 AM). That is very early for me. I rather don't get up before 10:00 AM.
Same for me, except I'd prefer to get up at noon (or later! ), if I could.

Sadly, I can't do that anymore....

They aren't magnetic, they're optical.

And actually, you just have to keep the disc away from direct sunlight, and excessive heat... other than that, you just need to take care of them like you would a vinyl disc (if you don't know what that is, ask your parents ).

I vote for no tattoo.

I don't like them at all, personally... but ultimately it's YOUR body, so you have to be happy with it.

My guess is that if they do 3j (and it's clearly inevitable), Square wants to do it right. I can just see them titling it "Final Fantasy 3: The Lost Chapter" and putting a ton of extras into it.
Where'd you read that Nintendo wanted Square to do 3j? In a magazine, or somewhere online? (And if it was online... got a link?)

There's no such thing as a 64-bit AMD XP. There are AMD Athlon XP's, which are 32-bit only, and AMD Athlon 64's, which have both 32-bit and 64-bit modes. And no, it doesn't clock around 3GHz; the Athlon XP 3200+ clocks at 2.2GHz, and the Athlon 64 3200+ clocks at 2GHz, IIRC.

Other than that, it looks pretty sweet to me.

That's an Athlon 64 then. XP's were only available for Socket "A" (aka, Socket 462).

I'll see how much it clocks, else I'll just OC it.
I wouldn't overclock that.
It has the VIA K8T800 chipset, which doesn't have a PCI/AGP clock lock -- that means that if you overclock your processor, you'll overclock the PCI and AGP busses too; that can lead to hard drive data corruption, and the graphics card not working right.

I'll agree with most people here and say the NES edition; it's the one I'm looking at getting.
Probably won't be able to get it before Christmas though....

It'll be MORE than fast enough for current games -- Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 though... well, who knows until they've actually been released?

Btw: I'm running a P4 2.8C (800MHz FSB + HyperThreading), with a Radeon 9700 Pro, and I can play comfortably at 1600x1200 in UT2004, so you won't have any worries if you like to play that.

I've been playing them again recently, and I was slightly amazed at how good they still are.

If you still play Starcraft, what kind of maps do you like?
RPG-like maps? ("Legends" springs to mind)
Melee? (BGH is a common one)
Or something else entirely?

If you play Total Annihilation, can you tell me how to get the thing working online?
I keep trying to play that with a friend of mine, but for some reason it won't work over the 'net for us.

I prefer Zelda personally.
Although the reason I'm wanting to get a GBA is the Final Fantasy games* that are supposed to be coming out for it.

Everything's at normal except for (IIRC) texture detail, which I have set to high. The background looks ugly and blocky otherwise.

Anyway, we should stop the back-and-forth posting... if you'd like to talk with me more about that, feel free to send a PM.

Cat n mouse? I've never seen a map like that for Starcraft or Warcraft before. Got a link to an example?

I really don't know why I didn't get any Final fantasy games, it's meant to be really good.
I've yet to play anything past 6, but once I get my playstation (hopefully soon! ), I'll be doing some catch-up.
The series as a whole is very good; although until X-2 all of the games were more-or-less "stand-alone"s (each of them has very little to do with any of the others, except for recurring themes such as moogles, chocobos, etc.).

EDIT: oh, and Zelda is my all time favourite series
It's not my favorite, but it's a good one.

I've been out of school long enough to forget things like that, lol.

Boredom for me:
1) Surfing my list of blogs repeatedly in case there was a new post by the blogger, or a new comment in one of the posts.
2) Continually refreshing the main page here; again, in case someone's made a new post.
3) Searching Google for random and strange things
4) If I'm in the right mood, I'll draw circuit diagrams for microcontrollers in MS Paint (that keeps me busy for a couple hours... MS Paint isn't a good program to do that with, lol ).

Mac OS (any version) will not run on ANYTHING but Apple-made or licensed hardware; except through emulation (which would probably be way too slow for you).

It was different when Macs ran on hardware other people used (back in the days of the 6502, and the early 680x0's), but that's ancient history by now.
