There is no 'executable' file so to speak, you need to install Java Runtime software to run Tile Molester. The .jar extension is technically the program, so once Java is installed, double click it.

Go here, and accept the agreement, and download and install.

If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask.

No, I think the hack is fine as is. Remember back in the day when Final Fantasy 6 hacks were released left and right, and the only changes were new really tough enemies? People still played and loved them. They weren't full blown hacks, but one really well done change for people to check out and play with. I'd rather release a hack with few really well done changes instead of a hack with a million mediocre or ho-hum changes.
I enjoyed the change, and it would sadden many if such gems sat unused on hard drives, instead of floating out and about and being enjoyed.

Everything loads fast, the objects move smoothly, and everything feels very proffesional. The gui is very uncluttered, and nice on the eyes. The zoom in option is VERY handy and nicely done.

One thing I noticed is that when I maximize the window, it only 'kind of' maximizes... It leaves a gap about half an inch on the right hand side and on the bottom. Nothing major, nothing that would take a fantastic first impression of your editor down any.

Also, please don't include SMAS support.

You said exactly what I was thinking. It wouldn't bother me if it were implemented, I just feel it should be added dead last if at all, after the NES Mario 3 editing is perfect, and bug free. I would just hate to see some frivolous extra slow that down. But it's Hukka's editor, and he might add it next, who knows.

Awesome, much beter than the WIP I tried awhile back!
I commend you on using a custom Open File dialog, it's perfect, usefull, and I wish more developers would make custom non-standard dialogs. Thank you so much for releasing.

The Statistics editor is freaking awesome, so many neat little things to change easily there.

Your new site design is a little empty compared to the old one. Why the change? It's still nice though, I love minmalism in all things.

-----------------
Gwa ha ha...too high a jump will kill you if there's no ceiling.
The running speed stat is so much fun to mess with... Little things like this really add alot to the editor.

------------------last edit...honest -----------------------

It's surprising how an editor can make you want to make a hack of a game.

[photubucket-gushing]Please go to http://www.photobucket.com and sign up for a free account. You can post about 50 megs of pics there, and linking to them is encouraged. It's THE site to go to if you want to host pictures to share on boards or elsewhere. It takes less than 5 minutes to get your account working, and uploading is super easy. [/photobucket-gushing]

Once you do, please post screens. There are a few Luigi based hacks, but it should be ok as long as you do a little something to make your Luigi stand out, make him different in some small way. Even just a Luigi palette change, like a blue green outfit would be enough really. It's you hack though. Can't wait to see some of it.

And use Photobucket.

--------------edit-----------------
Just went to your site to see your photos, I have cable internet, and it took a bit for those screens to load up. You really need to get into the habit of saving your pics in PNG format. It's the best, smallest, lossless format, and it's perfect for screenshots, they take up very little room, and load up fast.

This was on the first page of this thread. You must have missed it, or downloaded the editor and not read any of the posts.

It's not considered flooding really. I really like frequent updates if you feel like typing them. That, and if the you stop updating this thread, people might think you stopped updating and not download again untill the thread gets updated again. Just my opinion, but I'm all for a huge 13 page thread where the newest updates and people conversing back and forth about them and with bug finding and feature discussion. I like reading all the different replies and thoughts as well. Really brings life to this part of the board too.

I love this game as well. I havent had as much time with it as I would have liked (perhaps in the future) here is what I have so far as well. It's not as nice and neat or as interesting, but like you said, a few less things to fumble around for.

33E80 - Item Usage Amounts
37E7F - Item Set combinations
3EEC0 - Monster Names (8 bytes each)
3EA40 - Attack Names (8 bytes each)
3E640 - Weapon, Armor and Item Names (8 bytes each)
3EA40 - Monster Attack Names (8 bytes each)

Thanks, I havent touched it since I upgraded my PC, I'm in the middle of installing VB again, and might work on it some soon. It's much better than my older one I had floating around at TEK...*shudder*

Stats and such are easy enough to do, and the only thing left to do with the text is find out which byte is '-' and I can make a complete table file for it (and put it in the editor). If map data is ever found, this game would be the first I'd try to make a map editor for. Could be fun (or just plain funny...heh ). It will definatley get more attention eventually. My WIP folder of things to do is growing faster than my lawn.

That unknown value gave me fits (still does). All of them did actually...hours I spent...

Anywho...it's not the meat catagory unfortunately, though that shouldn't be too hard to find. None of the data was hard to find really, when I had the values and knew their order. Usually the simplest of hex searches gave me what I wanted. Except pointers..not sure about Gameboy pointers or the ones used in this game. Too much SNES hacking has corrupted my mind.

Badly.
It won't be long, I'm sure.
I've had so much fun watching each trailer, the amount of fun I've had with AC TOWERS over the fun I've had with FFTSWI.
FFTSWI wasn't bad, just mislabeled. BADLY mislabled.

Table file support was added after he posted that, I think.

Looks pretty cool, who wouldn't want to play around with it after all these cool screens?

I must say however, those are the most beautiful hazy and half-face pictures I've ever come across. FF7 affected me quite deeply apparently. Ever since this AC thing started, FF7 has gotten quite a bit of repeated play time with me, seemingly getting better each time.

Bleh. Do not let the replies, or lack thereof in a message board guide your hack. If you are making this hack for anyone other than yourself, which it appears like you are, you are doomed to fail. Not because you lack talent, but because you made it for the wrong reasons, and let the wrong reasons decide it's fate. I thought the hack was just fine. I didn't reply because I found nothing wrong with it. I had no questions, and it was just a demo. I had no suggestions. It was coming along nicely. When your threads DO start filling up with people suggesting things, or reporting problems, then you should worry, not the opposite. Your hack is doing fine. People WILL tell you if it's in trouble.

If I were to reply to every cool thread I came across, I'd be banned for spamming. Even if it's not that drastic, it's just not my thing to reply to everything with "Gosh, good job! Keep it up!". Cliche and boring. Nobody wants to read through 3 pages of someone saying "Nobody likes my hack because I don't 3 or 4 pages of replies. I'm cancelling it!" If you were making this hack for yourself (like you are supposed to be doing) then things like that wouldn't matter to you, and you wouldn't let that stand in your way, your way of creating your best work yet. Don't continue on that path.

As for new graphics, do as you please. New or old graphics, it's your talent that makes the hack great or not. If you feel you can wow us without new graphics, then don't add them in. If you feel you need new graphics to wow us, then add them in. It's that simple.

Oh, and don't forget....
Good job, keep it up!

Without question. I'd buy it multiple times more than likely, just like I did with the original. Just bought my 5th copy of FF7 the other day, due to various reasons behind the first 5 copies going bad, dissapearing, or worse...

Improved everything with extras...on one single DVD disc.... *drool*
The only reason the original game spanned 3 discs is because of the many movies. The only difference between all 3 discs were in fact, the movies. New, high res movies are now possible. Full 3D landscapes....I'd better stop there..I'm getting my hopes up again...

I know it's been said before. Alot. But I'd love either a remake of the original, or a sequal, like a Final Fantasy 7-2, that takes place right after the movie.

Or..... A whole new side game based on ....Reeve!
I'm not crazy. I'd like to see it.
Honest, it would be freaky cool.

Trust us. Your hack is great. If problems arise, you'll be the first to know.
You don't need 300 pages or even 2 pages to your threads. I recognize your name based on your previous hacks, that have a permanent home in my Hacks folder. Those had little, or nothing to do with any reply to any thread. Those came from you. You make your hacks. I'll continue to play. I may not always post it, but trust me. Alot of people feel the same way.

Ok, I'm done recapping my feelings. Just pummeling you into submission. Sometimes brute force is the only thing kids understand these days.
