| All right, so... its a new school year, and that means the school event Debate is starting back up. Now, my partner and I already wrote a case, he really wrote it  . It went something like this...My colleague and I stand here. Why? Might you ask? Because there is something being done that is wrong and unjust and they only way that something will be done about it is if someone stands up and says something about it. What is being done that is unjust you might ask? The fact that people are being detained without charge and searched without probable cause. Why you might ask? Well they are being detained solely on their Ethnicity and their racial background. And that is why my colleague and I stand. Resolved: That the United States Federal Government should substantially decrease its authority either to detain without charge or to search without probable cause. People have been detained, searched, and judged solely on their ethnic background and race. www.amnestyusa.org/racial_profiling/report/ Racial profiling has got up since 9/11/01 and millions of people are affected by it in their everyday lives. Approximately thirty-two million Americans, a number equivalent to the population of Canada, report they have already been victims of racial profiling. Racial profiling occurs in rural and suburban areas in airports, fastfood restaurants, and daily places of business. While driving In Texas, a Muslim student of South Asian ancestry is pulled over and asked by police if he is carrying any dead bodies or bombs. While walking: In Seattle,Washington, a group of Asian-American youths are detained on a street corner by police for 45 minutes on an allegation of jaywalking. While a sergeant ultimately ordered the officer in question to release them, the young people say they saw whites repeatedly crossing the same street in an illegal manner without being stopped. While travelling through airports: An eight-year-old Muslim boy from Tulsa, Oklahoma was reportedly separated from his family while airport security officials searched him and dismantled his Boy Scout pinewood derby car. He is now routinely stopped and searched at airports. While shopping: In New York City, an African- American woman shopping for holiday presents was stopped by security at a major department store. She showed the guards her receipts. Nonetheless, she was taken to a holding cell in the building where every other suspect she saw was a person of color. She was subjected to threats and a body search. She was allowed to leave without being charged three hours later, but was not allowed to take her purchases. While at home: A Latino family in a Chicago suburb was reportedly awoken at 4:50 a.m. on the day after Father�s Day by nine building inspectors and police officers who prohibited the family from getting dressed or moving about. The authorities reportedly proceeded to search the entire house to find evidence of overcrowding. Enforcement of the zoning ordinance, which was used to justify the search, was reportedly targeted at the rapidly-growing Latino population.Despite that this keeps happening nothing has yet been done to stop the ratial profiling of people of foreign decent. Clearly stated in the FOURTH AMENDMENT [U.S. Constitution] - ' The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized Basically summing up the Fourth Amendment, you can�t be searched or detained without a warrant that has reasonable cause to be issued. Being of Arab decent or Muslim ethnicity is not a probable cause. Being African-American or Asian isn�t probable cause. Therefore there are parts in the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act that need to be removed because they go directly against our United States Constitution. And now for our long awaited plan which if adopted will help to solve the ethnic and racial profiling of the United States and bring some of the civil liberties back to the people of the United States. Part 1- All detainees that are being held on accounts of �terrorism� must have a trial were probable cause must be found within no later then a month after being detained. And if no probable cause is found that they are to be set free. Part2- There can be no searches of private property, including houses and other privately owned items, without a Judge appointed warrant were probable cause was found for the person to be searched. Part2B- Citizens of the United States cannot be detained without evidence being found to prove that they are guilty of the crime. Innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law. This sums up our plan and now for the long awaited solvency. Solvency-This plan is definitely solvable for the fact that the money that will be saved from not detaining as many people for so long can go for the court cost of the trials that as United States citizens they are obliged to have. Here is our evidence showing that it would be more effective to adopt our plan. Here is the total of an average court cost:Total-98.00 as seen on sight: http://co4.shelbycountytn.gov/court_clerks/gen_sessions_court/civil/costs.htm And here is the cost of an Average inmate per year held: $75.01 per inmate per day, which is $27,378.65 dollars per year. As seen on sight: http://www.doc.state.nc.us/DOP/cost/cost2001.htm So as you can see we, as the United States taxpayers, would pay much less if our plan were adopted. As for the civil liberties part, the people of the United States will finally be able to choose once more there religion and not worry about being a suspected �terrorist.� And at this we close our argument for now. All right, that is basically our case, resolution is in there, but if you only skimmed it is. Resolved: That the United States Federal Goverment should substantially decrease its authority either to detain without charge or to search without probable cause. Now, our funding, is REALLY messed up, like fucked up that we didn't include lawyers fucked up. Ignore that for now. Now, my partner and I need a little help to make a better, hopefully perfect case. | There are no negative cases in debate. Affirmitive is when you're trying to change the current system, which is our case, Negative is trying to refute that case and prove that the current system is working, or that the case just simply won't work. | |||

| Dracoon: "You should've just stayed back." Dracoon held his left hand up, palm inwards. The seal that was on the ground was now on his hand. Dracoon grabbed the sword, and right when Silver Sonic came in for the attack, slashed outwards, moving from one point to the other in a flash. He landed lightly and jumped towards Kaz. Dracoon: "Stay down this time, I have no need to kill you." Dracoon seemed to flash from one point to the other again, but he turned around and came back, he repeated this several times, hoping to make sure Kaz would stay down. After his attack, he began to glow and jumped into the air. Dracoon: "Schwa, emmotions are what force beings into bad decisions. If Silver Sonic had stayed back and tried to repair, he wouldn't be in such risk." Dracoon stepped forward, still glowing. Dracoon: "Schwa. I have this battle already won, I've planned it out from the begining, and now you'll see why my mode shifts are so powerful." Dracoon almost became pure white and the light formed a giant orb around him. Dracoon: "Mode Shift: Janus!!!" A thinner Dracoon stood in front of them, with a hauberk on top of light clothes. His eyes seemed so much different from Janus' however, that it could've easily been mistaken for an error in the transformation. Dracoon: "Tactical Modification!!!" Dracoon laughed as the extremely heavy hammer appeared in his hand. He pointed it forward and prepared himself for one of the strongest moves he would need to do. Dracoon: "Kaz, I hope you stay back, even if I didn't hit you, a direct hit may shatter that armor." Dracoon held up his left hand, the seal still on it. Dracoon: "Remnants of the Seal of the Stars..." The seal glowed brightly and when he touched it on the hammer, the hammer came alive, the seal appearing all over it. Dracoon: "and... Hammer Whirlwind!!!" Dracoon started to spin, a small tornado forming around him as he started to go faster. The hammer's head was on the outside, ready to bash anyone that was here. Dracoon: "HAMMER HURRICANE!!!" The tornado spread out and the sky became black. Winds started to circle the clouds around, and throw the dirt and dust everywhere. A hole above everyone opened up, except Dracoon who seemed to disappear, it was definatly the eye. Dracoon's voice echoed around. Dracoon: "You haven't fought Star lately have you?" Dracoon appeared very high in the air, at the direct center of the eye. Dracoon: "He has grown quite powerful, but holds back. I have no clue why, but it took a lot of effort to force his more powerful attacks out of him. This seal is the strongest attack I've seen. Not only does it cause an initial burst of damage like Kaz and Silver Sonic know, but it allows a temporary increase in speed and power. It stores more energy for the next move though, something I can't copy, but I can combine it with something of about the same strength..." Dracoon flew down towards Schwa, breaking all logical forms of speed, he struck at Schwa, but came short on purpose. As his swing passed by, an incredible rush of wind followed. The sky seemed to circle closer to Schwa as all of the clouds started to come down towards Schwa, circling in like a snake. Dracoon: "Good luck. It'll chase you till there is no more energy left." | Shen just stayed silent. Her mind was at peace and calm, she was more worried about the sudden out burst of this guy. She did know about the shards and that is why she did come here. Shen's frown changed to a questioning one. Shen: "I did come to the shards." Shen really couldn't tell what was going to happen next, it could be an incredibly short battle depending on how strong this guy is. Although... it could be a long one if he was stronger than her, she wouldn't be able to manipulate his soul energy and would have to play a tactical game. Shen: "Are you going to stop me from finding them?" Shen was completely ignorant of what Evan was thinking, only that he was worked up over something that she couldn't comprehend. Her thoughts turned to avoiding the battle. She could just run, or just bind him here for a bit and try and get what she needed. There really wasn't a reason to fight someone this unbalanced... |

| We didn't include getting the senate together, and the cost of just passing a piece of legislation. Thats a main problem with our funding. We have no clue how or where we could hypothetically get the 100ish million for all that though. |

| Although Evan couldn't see it, Shen's eyes opened up wide as she reached into herself to gain control of her soul's energy. Shen: "Dracoon? Nijote? Kalar?" Shen actually looked up at Evan, her face still hidden. She made herself start to reach out with her soul. Shen: "I'm unfamilier with these names. I need the shards to help someone. Let me by." Shen started to walk forward, hiding all forms of her power, yet getting ready to strike out at Evan if he tried to attack. Shen: "I'm sorry I can't abide by your rules." |

| Shen put her hand in front of her, and the void energy was met by a thin wall of soul energy. The soul energy kept the void energy back easily. Shen: "Void energy...?" Shen pushed forward, a small part of the wall collapsing in so she could get through. Her other hand instantly contained a small ball of soul energy. Shen: "I told you. I must get through." |

| Shen: "I need it to help someone." Shen tried to move forward, but even against a light grip, wasn't able to without using soul energy, which she never used except when she was getting attacked. Shen: "Let me go." Her right hand, the one with the ball of soul energy in it, raised a little into the air, as if she was going to drive it through Evan's arm. |

| Star stopped on a tree, talking into a cell phone. Star: "What... I have to stop! A replacement!!! WHAT!?!" A very weird and uncomfortable pause swept over the earth as a huge voiced boomed out. Origin: "YOU'RE NOT FIGHTING ANYMORE STAR! YOU HAVE A REPLACEMENT FOR THIS BATTLE!" Star sighed and turned to the drunk Schwa. Star: "All right Schwa, looks like you can stay drunk. It doesn't matter to me... but before I leave..." Star jumped into the air, fire appearing all around him. Star: "Inferno!" Fire exploded from him, scorching everything around, the fires collapsed in, and Star was gone. One of the trees, didn't looked burn at all and a woman was sitting on on of the lower branches. She stood up and looked towards Schwa, her face hiddin by the straw hat she wore. Most of her body under a samuria type cloth. She looked slightly depressed, as she held a hand forward, and a wall of soul energy flew towards Schwa. OoC Yeah, I'm not sure if you two want to continue this, but oh well. |

| Shen was flying through the air thinking, she seemed to stay in the air a lot longer than she should've and only when she was about to hit the ground did she flip over and land on her feet. Shen: "I. Will. Get. In." Shen focused a ball of soul energy into her right and left hands. She rushed towards Evan, almost gliding, and jumped into the air, comming down straight from above with one hand held out, the blue energy wisping off of it. Shen: "I can't let you, a lost soul, stop me!" More soul energy gathered onto her right hand, the one she held out while falling, and she sped up, now bulleting down through the sky. |

| Shen blocked by thrusting her right hand into the pillar, stopping it from going any higher. She flipped up to her feet and looked at Evan. Shen: "And I can't let you, a random stranger, stop me from using it." Shen seemed to disappear for a second, but Evan saw her in the same place, and she hadn't moved one bit. All his senses would tell him, she was right there. Shen: "I can't let you stop me. I know you have your reasons, but nothing will come to harm, and I need it." Shen moved around quickly, yet the only one Evan could sense at all was the one that stood on the pillar in front of him. Shen was now directly behind him, another orb of soul energy in her hand. The fake Shen disappeared as Shen struck out from nearly point blank range. Shen: "Anima Orb!" The orb of anima, or soul, if it hit the target directly, it would distort all of the senses, give someone a very drained feeling, and drain their energy all at once. The physical damage was low, but the energy taken away could be very high. |
