The game is scheduled for release early next year. I dont think a demo is really worth my time at this point.

There will be something cool happening this year though.

Yah, there are a few ways of doing this. There is a certain header that allows you to kill the boss without giving you a heart. However, before this header was limited to gannons castle for the minibosses, but through asm, it will be available for the rest of the dungeons.

Another way, is to keep all the doors open, just have the boss block the way through, and then place an invisible stalfos somewhere in the room you wont be able to get to (in a wall or somethin). This causes you to not recieve a heart for the battle.

As for the water dungeon shot, i just used tile 0C9 and put it on layer 2.

Yah, its been a lot of work, but i intend to finish it.

As for the headers, they wont work in dungeons other than gannons castle unless you enable them through asm. Thats being worked on though.

I have some beta testers, but, i will probably hold some sort of signup thing for the final beta test. Probably not to many people. Just 10 or so.

Ill make a thread about it in a few months.

No offence intended, but you should really wait till you have put some work into it before you start showing it off.

As mathonnapkins, this might not be all you have done, but, it certanly doesnt show a lot. You need to put more work into it. Dark Prophecy has taken forever to do, but it shows when i post screenshots.

Good Luck.

Yah, there are several mini bosses as of right now, but no new bosses have been added yet. If/When i get around to programming them in, they wont appear as mini bosses, but as main bosses only.

I am gonna concentrate on the gannon battle first, then work on a different boss if there is time.

BTW, im not doing the ASM personally. Someone else is, and they are free to say so if they wish, however, i think their keepin it pretty low key at the moment.

Currently there are only 3 Zelda hacks in progress.

Zelda: Dark Prophecy - By Omega (me) and Dudeman

Zelda: Lyra Islands - By Orochimaru

Zelda: Quest for Calatia - By Gamemakr24

I really want a Zelda 3 hack. I know that im making Dark Prophecy, but i want something from someone else.

I also wish someone would make a softice type program for SNES where people could run through the asm code line by line and search through memory at will.

Wow, you ACMLM members are so shallow its not even funny. If there are no screenshots, there is no support for the hack. Talk about being to stupid to read. ACMLM sux. No wonder i like tek better. On tek, with less members, this exact same thread got 21 replies. Here, 0.

Thats right. Bow down in shame.

Then, show some support!

I have found that zelda hacks usually take 150% of the time you expected to spend on them if you continually work on them. However, thats just an estimate based on Omega, and Dark Prophecy's progress.

The most time consuming thing is the dungeons, not only because of the monumental size of the work, but also because there are just so many problems that creep up on you. The overworld goes pretty much to plan, and although very time consuming, it is more or less bug free.

Once we see good progress on the dungeons, we can get be more certain that it will get completed. For instance, there are only 3 more dungeons for Dudeman and myself to complete for Dark Prophecy, and now i am certain that it will get completed. Hell, there is enough dungeons done (9 or 10 I think) right now to just stop there, and alter the story a little to exclude 3 dungeons. Of course thats not gonna happen, but, my point is that it will be finished sooner or later.

Uchiha has made great progress, and, i am certain that we will see his hack completed as well.

Euclid, I thought that those empty rooms were used for other things in the game. I heard that if you edit them, you could easily mess up the game. Maybe thats why you have had so much trouble with it.

I just use any old hex editor. I find that the text is usually all bunched together, and if your hacking a game that you know well, you shouldnt have too much trouble figuring it all out. I prefer Hex Workshop. Although it isnt free software, you can try it for a month or so.

Could this be done for other games? Like, say, Zelda 3?

I ask cause i am having a little lag trouble with some boss fights in Dark Prophecy where there is slowdown. Its not game crushing, but it would be nice to be lag free. Please PM me, or let me know somehow. Great find.

If your looking for a complete LTTP hack, like SePH said, there arent any. The first to be completed is going to be Dark Prophecy by me and Dudeman in the next few months. If you want a look at it, go here:

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=8233

The next in line is SePH's Gates of Time. Im sure you can find a post on this board about it.

As far as i know, QfC is still being made, but is a LONG way off.

For any of the completed hacks, you can check em out here:

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=4557

Its a little outdated, but nothing of relevance has been released since.

With the release of a chrono trigger editor, im sure that it could be done with time and dedication. I would love to remake this game. It may even have a lot similar with the way chrono trigger can be edited because they are both square games. Just something to consider for the future. I know if there was an editor, i would make a full hack.

i know. Getting started is usually the hardest part. Perhaps a small group of people could get together and get the community started on finding data. A thread could be made for people to post their findings, and it could be compiled over time to make a database large enought to create an editor.

Also, above when i said it could have a lot in common with chrono trigger, i say it because companies like nintendo tend to recycle stuff like sound engines from game to game. Its pretty reasonable to assume that square may have done the same.

Edit: I meant that if a CT editor could have been accomplished, a SMRPG could probably be as well. I didnt mean that a SMRPG editor would have anything in common with the CT one.

I found some small amount of data earlier today. I am going to look at a SMRPG rom in more depth after exams. Hopefully if i get a good start on finding data, more people will help. I am not sure what sort of compression SMRPG uses, but i am sure that there is some form.

If we can get even a small group going on it, im sure it can be done. I think that Peers new tracer would also speed up matters by quite a bit.

Heres to hoping that people show interest.

Yup, completely from scratch. I would say that the absolute first thing we should do is find a couple members, and try to figure out the compression routine that it uses. Of course, thats not going to be easy. Ill try and figure it out, but i cant really do anything of relevance until min April because of finals.
