I'd have to say other. Like fruit juice and stuff, I can never get sick of those. Orange juice is great if I'm the mood for it. If not, it seems a bit thick to me. I don't know why. |

There's this place called The Joint where you can contribute pixel rooms and such to make a big pixel apartment. I decided to make something for the right balcony area, because it's blank. So why not Spice Girls in a glass case? Duh.    This is my first iso art. I made the flag first, and then lowered the opacity in Photoshop so that it looked painted on. I don't know how well I succeeded here. I don't know if any of you have ever tried to recreate the british flag at that angle, but it was pretty frustrating. The diagonal lines were weird, like the red lines aren't centered in the white lines. To me, it's just a strange design.  I also had trouble with the girls. In fact, the whole thing proved challenging. I probably should've tried a tutorial first. Isometric art just looked really easy to me.. ahaha. I should've known better. But I don't think it's a bad first try. I'm having serious problems with the glass case look.. I don't know how to go about it at all, but what I have now just isn't working out. I also wasn't sure if I should put a window on a side or something, it feels empty there. Any tips would be great, I want to fix this up so I can submit it to The Joint. I've also posted this in their forums for feedback, so expect improvements and all.

I sometimes get annoyed by a mod posting something like *closes* before closing a thread that obviously was trash anyway. It seems to contribue nothing. If threads aren't obviously bad to begin with, and I'm up for closing it, I try to explain why it should be closed before shutting it down. I used to do this.  Uma still rules.

Anyway.. If I have to I'll open the windows, but keep the blinds closed. I've never had air conditioning, though as a kid me and my friends would go in a parent's car and turn on the air conditioning as we'd play cards or something. That was fun. Otherwise, I just have to suck it up. It gets really hot in California. I have to keep my room toasty anyway because I have a pet lizard, so I never go there. We live right next to two 7-11s, and my mom goes there a lot to get slushies. It's not so bad. Fans freak me out. Just being able to stick your fingers inside of one, I hate it. My brother has this game where an elephant shoots butterflies out of its long nose and little kids run around with nets trying to catch them. That has a fan with a ton of protection so you don't hurt fingers, but it still keeps you cool. I love it. It only runs on batteries so I can't just leave it on. I'd rather be hot than cool. I can't begin to imagine what it'd feel like to have a sunburn on your feet. I remember when I'd go to the beach with this friend of mine, he was crazy pale and always got sunburnt on his shoudlers. I had a bad habit of grabbing friends' shoulders while walking with them, so I'd slap a hand on his shoulders, he'd scream, I'd be like "oops" and then five minutes later completely forget about it and did it again. It never failed. It's sorta funny to think about now.

Recently, in the San Francisco area, a 12 year-old boy was killed by two pitbulls. The parents insisted that the dogs were always sweet, same with their neighbors, giving the impression that they just snapped. Of course everyone bought into this. It was on the front page of our paper, something similar to TWO PITBULLS KILL BOY. I firmly believed that the dogs didn't snap, that the owners were irresponsible in some way. |
Then a few days ago, an update was printed in the paper that the mother locked her boy in the basement while going to the store because she was afraid of the dogs acting weird. He somehow got out of the basement and got killed. First, why not lock the dogs in the basement? Were they just that horrible? A loving dog does not just snap and kill a member of the family. It's obvious that they were neglected, but the article about the pitbulls killing a boy brought suggestions to limit the amount of pitbulls allowed in the city. That is such bull. I'm sick of everyone thinking pitbulls are inheritly evil, that is not the case. You have to make a dog bad, they don't become that way. And of course, pitbills aren't the only dogs capable of killing. I know rotweilers have a bad rap too, but attention is never brought to other dog killings. My mom used to collect articles of all dogs reported to kill or attack, and every time it was a pitbull, it would be mentioned in the headline. But if it was any other breed, it'd just say "dog". It NEVER failed. It's because everyone is misinformed, and it sucks. We're moving this summer, and we have to get this condo that's fairly pricy for us. We have to rent a place because we have a dog. Cheaper places were available, but we couldn't get them. Not because we have a dog, but because it was a pitbull. I remember this one place where the woman, upon learning we had a dog, immediately went "Is it a pitbull or rotweiler?" And my mom said it was a mutt, because we didn't crop our dog's ears, so maybe we could've fooled her. But apparently they're trained for that sort of trick, it has something to do with insurance. She kept demanding she see our dog. She was pretty nasty about it. When my mom went to see the place with another couple who was wanting to rent, a guy walking two pits, one adult and one puppy, went by. The woman renting the place and the other couple went on about how pitbulls are pure evil and all. My mom said nothing, which bugged me because she usually doesn't take shit. It just annoys me. Pitbulls can be the sweetest companions, and damn yappy toy dogs can be horrible. It's like, breed racism.
